Ch5- Finally Awake
About the Japanese suffix; -chan will be used a lot in the novel. Although generally it is used for female, -chan is also used for children. Mokami, when he was small called Moka-chan and it continued even when he grew up. It is way of expressing adoration, as you can see in most anime litte sisters call their brothers Onii-chan. Also, this is just a fanfic, not a scholarly essay, don't take everything seriously. Just enjoy it.

Mokami woke up with a splitting headache. He groaned as he tried to sit up, but the pain was too intense. He lay still for a moment, trying to remember what had happened. Suddenly, he remembered that he did something to his father before he passed out. The black thing that came out of his hand and went into his father's brain, somehow allowed him to control the bastard.
Mokami shook his head, trying to shake away the fog of confusion. He didn't know what that black light was or what he did to his father, but he hoped it was really some sort of mind control and the bastard would stop bothering them. He had no idea how to reverse the spell he had used, not that he had any intention to do so. He was just curious about this ability.
"I knew my Quirk was different from Momo's, but I didn't know this much. " He muttered to himself. "I basically rewired a person's brain. This is similar to Mom's Quirk but she can only use it on non-living objects whereas I changed a person's brain? I am not even sure.
He lay still for a few moments, trying to think of a solution. Then, he remembered something his father said before he passed out; something about things he did to other children. Children at the same age as his precious sister.
He slowly got up and walked to the computer and started googling through his father's company. After hours of searching, he found some shady sites talking about dark rumors about rich people, committing heinous sins all over the globe. There were many articles on the dark web about pedophilia committed by the rich, but none were proven and no one would dare to investigate those rich people.
Mokami quickly read through the sites and was shocked to realize the problem was bigger than he thought. Despite the world being where heroes were abundant, there were still bastards with money who did whatever they wanted. That included slaving the poor, sexually abusing children, and killing anyone opposing them. The world was still sick.
He angrily slammed his fist on the desk and vowed to do something about this. He knew he had to find a way to understand what he did to his father. To repeat or undo if necessary. After all, he didn't know if others could find his trace in his father's mind, if they could, that would be quite dangerous. But if there was nothing left behind, he would never undo what he did. That bastard deserved much worse.
"Eh, what is this? " As he was researching, he caught a notification. An email, highlighted as a priority, was sent a few days ago.
"Mr. Yaoyorozu
The bank account under your name has been approved and 200. 000. 000 ¥ has been deposited.
We wish you a pleasurable day.
I-Bank.
"Did that bastard take my words literally? " He muttered. He remembered one of the commands he uttered was for his bastard of a father to send money for him. It seems the bastard created a bank account for him and sent money. "I will see how it goes. I need to focus on these bastards first.
He decided he would start by finding out who these people were and using his Quirk to make sure they never hurt another child again. He also decided that when he finally found any solid clue that his father was involved in any of this, he would make sure he paid for it.
Mokami was glad that he could use his powers for good, but he still felt guilty for the power he had used on his father. After all, what he did was remove the free will of a person and turn him into a puppet. He knew what he did was right and just. He did it to save his sister and other more unfortunate souls, but he still felt troubled. It felt wrong to wield such might, as he was afraid that he would lose himself in power and abuse this Quirk for his own selfish benefits.
"These are not my true ideas, are they? " He sighed. He knew he wasn't a goody two shoes. He wasn't a pure hero. He knew he didn't really feel guilty for what he did. The idea of good and moral that had been covered in countless fiction was preaching to him about what he did, but he didn't feel any remorse. He still didn't want to use it to control innocents for his own greed, but he had no trouble when it came to the scum of society.
"That is not me. " He shook his head, "I would kill every single one of them to save a single innocent child and would dine on their bloody corpses and still feel nothing but content."
He eventually decided that he would use his powers to help people who were in need and make sure that he never abused them even on villains unless absolutely necessary. He was okay with the idea, but he knew robbing the free will of others, even when they were guilty, was a bit overboard. It was only for small-time criminals, of course. Those rich, twisted, sick perverts… They would get the worst! He also decided to use his powers to find out more about the people like his father and others that hurt innocent and make sure they never touch anyone else.
He also wanted to make sure that no one ever had to go through what he did out of his anger or rashness, or ever had their free will taken away from them again without making sure they absolutely deserved it. He was determined to make sure that everyone had a fair chance in life. He knew it would be a difficult journey, but he was willing to take it on. After all, although he was willing to act to save others, he wasn't willing to cast away his humanity in doing so. But ever since that night when he saw his little sister taken advantage of, he was feeling something deep inside him trying to awaken and lash out. He was scared of the power, but he also felt that it was a part of him, and maybe he had to accept it.
While he was in deep thought, the door of his bedroom opened, and a beautiful woman walked in. She was Mika, his mother, with a tray of food. Mokami looked at the food and realized they were all liquified, probably to help him drink even in his sleep, which made him think; How long was he sleeping?
"Moka-chan! You are awake! " Mika exclaimed in surprise and happiness. She put the tray on the bed stand and hugged her son tightly with tears threatening to drop from her beautiful eyes. "You worried Kaa-chan!
"How long was I sleeping? " Mokami asked in surprise. From his mother's reaction, he could tell his sleep wasn't short.
Mika sighed. "It's been two weeks, Moka-chan. We were so worried about you. " She kissed his forehead and wiped away the tears that had started flowing down her cheeks.
Mokami's eyes widened in shock. Two weeks! He had slept for two whole weeks? He couldn't believe it.
"I'm sorry, Kaa-chan," he said softly, feeling guilty for worrying his mother so much.
Mika smiled and shook her head. "It's alright, Moka-chan. All that matters is that you're awake now." She gave him a warm hug before getting up to help him eat the food she had brought in for him.
After eating, Mokami felt much better and was eager to catch up on all the time he had lost while sleeping. He thanked his mother again as he started to ask what had happened. He had to learn the story from their side, so he could act accordingly. After all, Momo was still in the study when he used his powers on his father.
Mika explained that his father had never returned ever since that night. He announced that he would be busy for an undetermined period of time and would not return home. She had no idea what he was doing and where he was going. All she knew was that he wanted Mokami to take care of her in his absence.
Mokami nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of the situation. He asked his mother if she needed any help but she shook her head, saying that she would be alright. Although he didn't specify when he ordered his father, his feelings must have affected him as the bastard let his mother do as she wished, so Mika never quit her job. She still worked in her company, but due to Mokami's situation, she took some time off and was taking care of him.
Mokami was filled with guilt, but he also felt grateful. He had been taken care of by his mother since the incident, and she had been a rock for him in this difficult time. He thanked her for her support and promised to do whatever he could to help her.
He then asked what happened with his father, but Mika didn't know much about it either. All she knew was that he had left without saying goodbye or anything else. She said that she would try to find out more information on his whereabouts and promised to keep Mokami updated if she found out anything new. She thought he was missing his "father." Only if she knew how mistaken she was. Mokami wanted nothing to do with that bastard.
Mokami nodded and asked about Momo. Although they were both four-year-olds, Momo was still a child, so she probably didn't know much about what happened. And what his mother said supported his belief. Surprisingly, when he started to shout at his father, Momo got scared and later, she passed out. And she didn't remember anything else about the night.
Mokami was relieved that Momo hadn't been exposed to any of the violence that evening. He thanked his mother for taking such good care of them both.
Mika nodded and told him not to worry, as she would always be there for him and Momo no matter what happened. She then went on to tell him that he should focus on having fun and slowly discovering his abilities. He had just awakened his Quirk and he had a lifetime to discover his power and what he wanted to do with it.
Mokami agreed, thanked his mother again, and promised to do his best. He then said goodbye and hugged her tightly before leaving the room.
Although Mokami still had many questions about what happened that night, he felt comforted knowing that had the support of his mother and would always have someone to turn to in times of need.
