Chapter 37: ch 32
Chapter 32: The Betrayal
The battlefield was silent for a moment, the tension thick enough to suffocate.
Hashirama stood on top of his colossal Wood Release: True Several Thousand Hands, towering over everything. The Kage, battered but still standing, prepared for their next move.
And I?
I was ready to end this.
But just as I was about to unleash my power—
A voice echoed through the battlefield.
"Enough."
Everyone froze.
A figure walked through the battlefield, completely unscathed by the destruction around her. Her long, flowing red hair danced in the wind, her violet eyes glowing with something unreadable.
Mito.
My sister.
The woman I trusted most in this world.
She stepped forward, her gaze firm, yet soft. She wasn't afraid.
I lowered my hand slightly, my eyes narrowing. "Mito?"
She stopped right in front of me.
The battlefield watched in absolute silence as she reached up—
And gently kissed my cheek.
I stiffened.
"…What are you doing?" I asked quietly.
She pulled away, her hands resting on my chest. I saw it now—the sadness in her eyes. The hesitation.
"I'm sorry, Shinsui," she whispered. "But I can't let you do this."
And then—she pulled back, revealing what she had hidden beneath her robes.
My scythe.
My breath hitched.
She held it with reverence, as if it were something sacred.
And in her other hand—
The Lock of Absolutism.
My entire world froze in that moment.
A terrible realization crashed into me, like a kunai piercing my heart.
"Mito…" My voice was barely above a whisper. "You wouldn't."
She wouldn't.
Would she?
Her grip tightened on the Lock of Absolutism. "Shinsui, you are a danger to the peace Hashirama is trying to build."
I took a step back.
She took a step forward.
The other Kage said nothing. They just watched.
Like this had been the plan all along.
My hands trembled, not in rage, not in power—
But in betrayal.
"You were part of this?" My voice was hollow.
Her lips trembled. "It's for the greater good."
My body moved on instinct—I reached out, trying to stop her, trying to take back my weapon, trying to do something.
But she was faster.
She slammed the Lock of Absolutism onto the scythe, her chakra flooding into it.
The entire world trembled.
"No—"
A blinding light erupted from the weapon, and suddenly, I felt an overwhelming force pulling me in.
Sealing me.
I struggled, my chakra flaring wildly, my power resisting the pull.
But the Lock of Absolutism was absolute.
No matter how strong I was, this seal was unbreakable.
Mito's tear-filled eyes were the last thing I saw before my world turned to darkness.

A World of My Own
When I opened my eyes, I was somewhere else.
A vast, endless world.
The land was vibrant, teeming with natural energy. The sky was filled with stars that shouldn't exist. The rivers ran with energy instead of water.
I was inside my own creation.
Sealed.
Alone.
My hands clenched into fists.
"…Mito."
I collapsed onto my knees, my body trembling with something deeper than rage.
Betrayal. Sorrow. Disappointment.
I had spent years building this weapon, perfecting it.
And now, it had become my prison.
A bitter laugh escaped my lips.
"So this is how it ends?"
No.
No, this wasn't the end.
One day, I would be free.
One day…
I would return.
And when I did—
I would never make the mistake of trusting anyone again.
