"What do you mean by it's been compromised!?"
Butcher questioned loudly through the phone, standing near a window in a motel.
"The V is gone, I don't know who took it but my best guess is that it's a supe.
There is no evidence to be used against them now, because of Deva's actions and influence the bill has been approved."
Raynor replied in an annoyed tone over the phone.
"So what are me and the boys goin to do now? I did my part Raynor so do yours!"
Butcher exclaimed and glanced at M.M, Frenchie and Huey who are sitting around the room, watching him as he spoke.
"I'm sorry Butcher, I've done all i could. Don't worry, your families will be safe you have my word but the rest of you should leave the country right now."
"Why? What's going on?"
"Vought has declared you guys as fugitives, people are out there looking for you guys right now. You shou---"
<Splack!>
"Hoi Raynor! Raynor do you copy!?"
"...."
"Raynor respond Godammit!...Fuck!"
Butcher shouted nervously as he heard the sound of something like flesh exploding with Raynor being unresponsive the next moment.
"What's going on? What's up with Raynor?"
Mother's Milk asked as he stood up from the bed and came closer to the quiet Butcher, the rest of the boys also standing up in attention.
"....I don' know mate, I heard something exploding in the background when we were talking. She's probably been compromised but we can't be sure."
Butcher answered unsuredly to Mother's Milk.
".... Fuck, what are we going to do now? Raynor is probably dead and from what I've heard from your conversation, our trump card has been fucked. This is the end of the road for us, all of us."
Mother's Milk said somberly as he sat down with his hands on his face.
Hughie and Frenchie also had looks of despair on their faces as they realized there is nothing they can do now.
"Hey hey hey Guys c'mon, it's not the end. If those cunts have fucked us over then we just have to repay the favour, no big deal."
Butcher encouraged with his signature smirk as he walked closer to the boys.
"Oh yeah, how are we going to do that? If you haven't noticed the only person who can help us is probably dead. What are we to do?"
The room descended to silence after Mother's Milk spoke.
"Don't worry lads, daddy's got you. I'm going out to meet someone who can help us with our situation. You guys should pack your things and leave immediately, Hughie you with me."
Butcher wore his trench coat and said with a smile on his face, Hughie who heard him was confused as to why he chose him to accompany him but he shrugged and followed him as he left the motel room.
"Where are we going?"
Hughie asked as they entered the car.
"We are going to meet someone I should've gone to when we started this business again."
Butcher answered and the next moment, he drove the car away.

At night, the gorgeous city lights of NYC lit up in various colors, making the city as bright as day.
Inside Vought Tower in a particular floor, a large party is ongoing with dignitaries, superheroes and important figures all around the luxuriously decorated room, socializing or enjoying themselves.
At a particular corner, Virgil who is adorning a black slim fit suit that highlighted his height and athletic body was surrounded by numerous men and women dressed in expensive attire, conversing with them with a charming smile.
"Hello guys, can I please steal him for a moment? I won't be long I promise."
Madelyn Stillwell, who is wearing a beautiful dress politely said to the crowd surrounding Virgil with a smile.
"Thanks for having me."
Virgil said with a smile and excused himself from the crowd, following Madelyn to a another place.
"What's the problem Madelyn?"
Virgil questioned with a calm smile, his hands in his pocket as they came to a corner that made them see the city through the floor to ceiling windows.
"The CIA were about to take me in for question with regards to Compound V but suddenly they withdrew and in the afternoon one of their heads were assassinated in broad daylight which is very tragic if I'm being honest.
...The point is I'm here to say thank you for what you've done, my negligence almost created a huge problem for the company."
She thanked him in a grateful tone with a smile on her middle aged face.
"Its nothing but I'm pleased you know all this happened because of you. Just know that I won't always be there to clean your mess, oh and keep your squad in check."
Virgil looked at her and said after taking a sip of the wine he took from a passing waiter.
"I promise that won't happen again, now that we are in the military I'm going to be extra vigilant."
Madelyn promised with a smile.
Virgil nodded in response and shifted his focus to Homelander who is being applauded, making Madelyn also watch him.
After saying a few words to the crowd, Homelander descended from the stairs and walked towards Virgil and Madelyn with his eyes set on Virgil.
"I should go."
Madelyn excused herself politely as she saw Homelander coming towards Virgil and left.
Homelander arrived in front of Virgil and stood beside him quietly, Virgil also remained silent and calmly drank his wine.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Homelander calmly asked in a tone laced with annoyance as he looked at Virgil, his hands around his back.
"Tell you what exactly?"
Virgil asked back in a nonchalant tone.
"About my child, why didn't you tell me I had a child?"
"Hooh? and where did you get this information."
"I put some pieces together and went to Doctor Vogelbaum. It's funny how even you hid the truth from me, I thought I could trust you but now it seems only Madelyn can be trusted."
Homelander said in a betrayed manner, looking at Virgil who was still drinking his wine peacefully.
"Pfft Madelyn? Haven't heard something funny like this in a while. Listen John, the world doesn't revolve around you. Hell if anything it revolves around me, I didn't see the need to tell you about something like that and I still don't see the need to. You can use this information for whatever you want but please don't talk like we are something John, its pathetic."
Virgil calmly said with a stoic expression on his face. Hearing his words, Homelander's face twisted, making him clench his fist dangerously.
Virgil still stood there nonchalantly, not taking what Homelander does seriously.
"If that's all, I have some prisoners to see. See you later, oh and a piece of advice, that flower has thorns."
Virgil said cryptically and glanced at Madelyn who is talking to Mr Edgar and left, moving towards the exit after placing his glass on a table.
Seeing him leave, Homelander calmed down and looked at Madelyn and thought about what he said.
'What did that asshole mean? I have get to the bottom of this.'
He thought and walked towards Madelyn with resolve.
