Conditions for Becoming a Perfect Idol Leader

Chapter 2

“F**k.”

[ Rule 18│A perfect idol refrains from any reckless words or actions anywhere.]

Oh, please.

Gyeo Yeong-in tightly shut his mouth. The previous nightmare began to vividly resurface. It was crazy.

‘How did I forget about this?’

[ However, consideration is given if no one is around to hear. ]

It was so touching that he felt like crying. The status window was definitely crazy. He felt pathetic for feeling relieved by such a sentence.

Was this not a hallucination? Or had he truly gone mad?

‘Reset. So that’s what it meant?’

Gyeo Yeong-in stood still for a while, then suddenly looked around.

It was definitely his room. Although it wasn’t the room of the 20 year old man who had just been discharged from the military, it was the house where he lived as a child.

Just like that, without any warning? And right after being discharged from the military? Could it be because he didn’t become an idol?

[ Become the perfect idol! ]

“Yes, that’s it. I’m going crazy…”

Why now, of all times, when nothing had happened before?

‘Damn it, it seems like it targeted the day after my discharge on purpose.’

The military was too much. If it was going to reset me anyway, it could have done it earlier.

With no outlet for his silent rage, Gyeo Yeong-in clutched his head.

Even this crazy status window didn’t give any warnings. It was just an ordinary day.

Gyeo Yeong-in had simply gone to bed and woken up. He was guilty of nothing more than satisfying one of the three basic human needs: sleep.

By this point, he had a feeling. If he refused to become an idol again, the same thing would happen.

It wasn’t just a feeling.

It was an absolute certainty.

He had no idea why this was happening to him, why he was chosen to be an idol among so many professions.

The only fact waiting for Gyeo Yeong-in was that if he didn’t want this to happen again, he had no choice but to follow the status window for now.

Thus, Gyeo Yeong-in naturally accepted the street casting proposal from DD Entertainment, just like before.

There was no need to say that his decision was different from the past.

Of course, Gyeo Yeong-in’s trainee life was far from smooth.

No, it was worse than difficult; it was the worst.

His second reset occurred less than three days after the first one.

Go Young-in managed to accumulate ‘Warning 5’ in the company’s underground practice room for trainees, barely within a few minutes of entering.

Gyeo Yeong-in came in completely unprepared.

Moreover, his abilities needed for being an idol were pitifully lacking.

Kang Ba-da, who made the casting proposal based on his appearance alone, was flustered enough to glance at the company’s CEO.

His singing was average, his dancing was beyond average.

Sense of rhythm? It would be a miracle if he had any.

The only good thing  he had was, his face, his charisma, but he couldn’t even be displayed properly because he fumbled in front of the camera like a dented tin can.

It was a miracle that the company decided to give him a probation period instead of kicking him out immediately.

[ Rule 2│A perfect idol must have skills that are not embarrassing to anyone. ]

[ Warning! ]

[ Warning! ]

[ Warning! ]

[ Warning! ]

[ Warning! ]

[ Accumulated: 5 Warnings, 0 Alerts ]

[ ‘4 Warnings’ have been converted to ‘2 Alerts.’ ] [ Accumulated: 1 Warning, 2 Alerts ]

Gyeo Yeong-in, who received a barrage of warnings for showcasing less-than-perfect idol skills in front of others, quickly filled the remaining alert counts due to the penalties that came with ‘2 Alerts.’

[ Rule 18│A perfect idol does not make rash remarks or actions anywhere. ] [ Rule 32│A perfect idol must be skilled in managing facial expressions. ] [ Rule 40│A perfect idol always avoids insincere responses. ]

It only took three rules.

Furthermore, being forced to start a trainee life wasn’t easy; being an idol was no joke.

It was hard to survive in a jungle-like environment where even those who worked tirelessly, enduring bone-crushing pain, often couldn’t debut and either dropped out or gave up.

Gyeo Yeong-in, who originally had no intention or interest in becoming an idol, had no chance of succeeding among people who pursued their idol dreams with all their might.

Resetting didn’t mean anything special. At first, he was just dazed, like someone waking up from a dream.

After the 10th reset, Gyeo Yeong-in began to get accustomed to the rules.

Around then, he started to mix up repeated memories and occasionally spoute nonsense.

On the days when he accumulated five alerts, he tried to stay awake out of fear of resetting, but no matter how he struggled, the reset happened.

After the 13th reset, he started to organize and record his memories in a notebook.

When he could no longer remember how many times he had reset and still made no progress, a word was added to the alert message.

[ Upon accumulating 5 alerts, you will ‘die’ and then reset. ]

After that, Gyeo Yeong-in stopped organizing his memories in the notebook.

Anyway, to avoid dying, he sincerely continued his trainee life.

As time passed, the intervals between resets increased, and his skills improved. He gradually grew older.

When he safely reached high school, Gyeo Yeong-in began to feel extremely anxious.

He managed to get into the debut team, but his team’s luck was extremely bad.

It started with the team members causing trouble and leaving, leading to the indefinite postponement of their debut.

After that, other members left due to injuries or secret contacts from other agencies, resulting in continuous departures.

In the end, the debut team was dissolved.

Even after that, Gyeo Yeong-in had several opportunities to debut, but he kept failing due to bad luck.

He was getting anxious about why he couldn’t debut despite being due for it.

He practically lived in the practice room without causing any major problems. Maybe his skills were lacking?

Luck… He definitely seemed to lack that.

The only time he reset without accumulating warnings was the first time.

Since he reset as an adult, if he didn’t debut as an adult, he didn’t know when he would return.

So, he had to debut before becoming an adult.

‘Damn it, I can’t reset again.’

Having received numerous warnings for swearing, Gyeo Yeong-in had developed a habit of cursing silently in his head instead of out loud.

He subtly said that to Kang Ba-da, who brought him in.

But seeing Kang Ba-da feeling more regretful and apologetic, Gyeo Yeong-in lost his steam and couldn’t bring himself to speak.

In the end, the thirsty one digs the well, so Gyeo Yeong-in starts searching for potential idol candidates himself along with Kang Ba-da.

Gyeo Yeong-in was in a real hurry.

Visuals and skills were the most important. There wasn’t enough time to find someone who met all the

other criteria.

Even if they lacked a bit of charisma!

Even if their personality was a bit lacking!

As long as they had good looks and skills, wouldn’t they seem okay on the outside?

Of course, Gyeo Yeong-in would later deeply regret his foolishness.

Anyway, he spent another two years putting together a team and practicing to match their synergy.

The hastily formed team surprisingly became a debut team as if all the previous struggles were just a dream,

And Gyeo Yeong-in finally debuted as part of a five-member K-pop boy group called “Zero-One.”

Since he debuted, he thought that if he just didn’t violate any rules and endured until the end of his contract with the agency, something might change.

Gyeo Yeong-in began to hope again.

Of course, the status window never said that everything would end when the contract expired, but without setting an end, Gyeo Yeong-in might have gone crazy.

But Gyeo Yeong-in’s hope was once again dashed spectacularly.

Aside from minor issues, the team, which was running without major controversies, began to fall apart after two years of debut.

[ Lim Se-bin ]

– A friend working at a hospital said Lim Se-bin was admitted there for a suicide attempt, shocking.

– This mental hospital admission diagnosis for Se-bin, is this real? There’s a picture.

– I went to school with Lim Se-bin, LOL, he’s a total germaphobe (a person with an extreme fear of germs and an obsession with cleanliness.) and super picky about people. He’d freak out if someone even brushed against him and acted like the touched part was infected, swearing at them.

– Lim Se-bin’s attitude controversy – couldn’t control his facial expression on a show, and gave a cold stare in front of a senior.

[ Kyeon In-woo ]

– Kyeon In-woo’s friends are all Hongdae hipsters and druggies, the name fits perfectly.

– In-woo, stop making it obvious that you won’t renew your contract and try to hang out with your team members. They look pitiful.

– Summary of today’s collab with BJ and rapper Woony: In-woo won’t renew the contract + regrets being an idol and trashing his teammates.

– In-woo, stop going to clubs and entertainment bars so often. Your bones are going to wear out.

[ Gyeo Yeong-in ]

– Self-centered attention seeker, obsessed with being the center (+additional posts).

– Yeong-in, do you have issues with other members? You never seem to be around them.

[ Cheon Sa-yoon ]

– Sa-yoon, do you think being an idol is a joke? Stop deceiving fans and stop dating so much.

– Cheon Sa-yoon, stop flaunting your relationship with Na Yeon-seo. Get a grip.

– Suffering from actor syndrome, neglecting idol activities (100% referring to Sa-yoon).

– Sa-yoon, focus on singing practice instead of acting lessons. Encore live controversy.

[ Pyo Jae-ho ]

– Zero-One Pyo Jae-ho misogynistic tirade link.

–  Jae-ho, the fan fight master, isn’t this basically a trademark now?

– Pretentious artist syndrome, despising idol songs while being an idol.

– New song produced by Pyo Jae-ho – accused of plagiarizing a famous freelance composer.

– Hating his team members and avoiding them, he’s gone from hating fans to hating his team.

—–

Just by searching, you can find this much. It’s amazing how consistently they stir up controversy.

[ 999+ Comments ]

>> Some of these aren’t even scandals, just exaggerated posts.

└ It’s disgusting how old posts keep getting dragged up.

└ Some posts clearly show which members’ antis wrote them, unlike other members’ controversy posts.

└ They don’t have as many issues because they don’t mess up like the others.

└ < Comment deleted by admin. >

>> Hello, I got so excited thinking there were new updates, but it’s all old news. Zero-One, when will you make a full comeback?

└ LOL, hilarious but not hilarious.

>> Are these guys the same as the “Troublesome Idols”?

└ Yeah, they are. “Problematic Idols” is what they’re called.

└ LOL, I knew this comment would be here.

>> Seriously… so much drama…

└ Agreed. Living through this mess and still not leaving the fandom, I’m legendary.

└ The revolving door of Zero-One fandom is relentless; every time there’s a scandal, I get fed up but then see their faces and get all fired up again.

└ True LOL. Honestly, with these visuals and physiques, they’re rare in the entertainment industry.

>> I get disillusioned seeing them more popular than any other idol…

└ There’s plenty to get disillusioned about, just look and move on with your life.

>> Despite all this drama, they aren’t flopping? Their fans must be saints or something. Why do they even are their fans…?

└ The fans are as tough as the idols. Hardcore fans aren’t fazed by most things.

>> My goodness, with this level of visuals and skills, who wouldn’t fan of them?

└ True LOL. Honestly, with these visuals and physiques, they’re rare in the entertainment industry.

>> If I were born with their looks and skills, I would be an amazing idol. Just make me an idol already.

Shut up, damn it, I’m about to go crazy and die because of them.

@misAeCUaOkjaz

Fact: No matter how much drama they cause, people willn’t leave their fandom because they’re good-looking and talented. Just look at the other idols’ visual levels, how can you not be fan of them?
