Chapter 23: Chapter 23 - Neutral Zone - Part 2
"As a show of respect for you all not raising a fuss regarding the synchronisation, let me inform you of something important before we start. I don't like beating around the bush. Also, you should have a general idea what this place is by now. So, I'll get straight to the point."
Cinzia took a couple more steps forward and spoke up in a low but powerful voice.
"This place is the sanctuary created through the combined powers of the seven deities, called the Neutral Zone."
"And in this place, all of you shall be given the chance to prove that you are capable of surviving in the Paradise. You've all received your Survival Points, right?"
"Long story short, you must increase your points to over 1000. That is the only way to leave this Neutral Zone. Although we've prepared various methods to increase your points tally, we are not going to mind other ways you cook up yourselves. However, you only have one month to do so."
A small commotion began rising up. After all, most of them present here heard that, as soon as they cleared the Tutorial, they would be allowed to enter Paradise. So, this was contrary to what they were promised.
Of course, there were few here that displayed a relaxed demeanour as well. These were the people who got to hear a more in-depth explanation beforehand, so they knew what was going on already, including Jake.
"If you fail to gather the points in a month's time…."
"What is the meaning of this?"
The loud voice of dissent came from Area 4. A man with an imposing physique and a beard stood up from his seat. However, Cinzia only spared him a cursory glance.
"Hmph…. If you don't want to regurgitate that burrito you shoved down your throat before you got here, you'd better sit your ass back down. I really hate being asked a question in the middle of my sentence."
The bearded man blinked his eyes in surprise for a few seconds before his expression crumpled in anger.
"The hell did you say? Watch your mouth, you spaghetti bitch!"
"Would you shut up and sit back down! No one here other than some of the people up there can somewhat deal with her, she could easily kill almost everyone in the audience with 1 blow each."
Jake yelled at the man which caused Cinzia to throw her head back in a loud fit of laughter.
"He's right you know. Certainly a barbaric Mexican, ain't ya? You from the Sinaloa, right?"
"How do you know…."
"It's obvious. Out of those with the authority to recruit, the only one who can mass mobilize the Bronze Marks is found there."
Cinzia's laughter abruptly came to a halt and she beckoned with her index finger. The fourth maid from the left stepped forward and handed a piece of paper to her.
"Let's see. I'm getting curious here if your results match that mouth of yours."
Cinzia took a look at the paper, and a mocking smile formed on her lips.
"0 points? What? Is this real?"
The maid quietly nodded her head.
"You're not even a Red Mark. Getting a 0 as a Bronze…."
Cinzia threw away the paper and coldly looked at the burly Mexican.
"I can't bother to talk to you again. Sit back down, burrito."
"You…!"
"Sit. Otherwise, I'm going to make the ones who invited you regret it."
The abrupt change in the tone of her voice was so eerie and terrifying that it roused goosebumps on all who heard it. The Mexican man shrunk back in an instant and collapsed back to his seats unsteadily.
"…I think you're all misunderstanding something here."
Cinzia continued to smoke without saying anything for a while before sweeping her gaze across the audience seats with eyes belonging to a wild beast.
"The official title of this land is Lost Paradise. Got that?"
She emphasised the last part of her words. Specifically, the name.
"Did you all think that because it's called 'Paradise' that you'd get to ride in roller coasters and have a jolly good time? You all better wake up. If I were to compare this place to Earth, then the land you're about to step into is a battlefield full of gunshots and explosions happening every single day. This is a warzone, where you will be permitted to survive only after your enemies are all dead."
She flicked the butt of the cigarette away and crossed her arms again.
"Just because you managed to somehow escape from a weakling monster, you think you got the right to bark at me? Don't you get the meaning behind the Tutorial? Don"t get cocky. You better not fool yourselves into thinking that things you'll encounter in Lost Paradise are around the same level as what you experienced in the Tutorial."
The reality of the situation must have sunk in as the small commotion died down almost immediately.
"That's right. If you understood, then keep your mouths shut, you useless bunch of woodpeckers."
Jake started laughing loudly. He found the description perfectly fits the vast majority of the people in the audience. As he attracted the attention of the audience he didn't stop laughing, not paying them any attention until he slowly stopped.
"You're…"
A strange glimmer flickered in Cinzia's eyes.
"Oh, I see. Indeed, you may find all of this rather… adorable."
"?"
"But, you should try to understand too. No matter how careful the selection process was, there will always be some dirt that manages to escape the filtering."
"Well, this place will be the end of that anyways."
Cinzia shifted her gaze back to Area 4's direction and giggled.
"You are going to go through a lot of hardship, that's for sure. To get to 1000 points from 0, now that isn't going to be a walk in the park."
Hearing this, several people began to flinch noticeably.
"This is the consequence of your own actions. Who told you to get a free pass through the Tutorial?"
"Now that we're here, we might as well get the awards ceremony done and dusted too. If there's someone deserving of punishment, then there should be others deserving of rewards…."
Cinzia let off a lengthy groan and reached into her inner coat pocket.
"From now, if I call out your name, stand up. Area 5, Tong Chai?"
A thin man wearing a white turban stood up.
"You already meet the requirements. If you want, you can enter the Paradise right away."
"I choose to remain."
"Then, take this."
Cinzia threw something at this Tong Chai. He easily snatched it off the air and asked her, full of curiosity.
"What the? A member of the death squad is asking for more info?"
An unreadable smile formed on Tong Chai's face as he sat back down.
"If you're really curious, then ask your maid standing behind me later. Area 2, Salvatore, Leorda."
This time, a man with a salt-and-pepper hair cut in short, sporty style stood up.
Cinzia didn't bother to say anything and simply threw something at his way as well. The unexpectedly-youthful man caught it, bowed slightly, and sat back down on his seat.
"Area 7, Hao Win."
One of the identically-kitted Chinese men, a man with good physique and looking somewhere around in the mid thirties, stood up.
"Seeing how you carry yourself, I can easily guess where you're from. So, will you be staying?"
"That is a foolish question. I will be staying, of course."
The man named Hao Win smiled refreshingly.
"Okay. And then…. Area 2, Odelette Delphine."
"I'm also staying."
The girl answered right away. She quickly caught the thrown item that drew a long arc in the air. She checked it and then, promptly raised her hand up high again.
"Excuse me for a second!"
"Mm?"
"I think you gave me the wrong one, because it says No.3 on the plate."
"Nope. I know full well that you earned 7500 points."
Shocked and impressed gasps came from the various parts of the audience seats. Most of the crowd here stared at the girl with the white hairband and curly light brown hair with disbelieving eyes.
"If I deduct the 1000 Survival points you got as your starting bonus, then your original points tally is 6500. And your Silver Mark got you a Mark of Survival with the 5 times multiplier. So, you earned 1300 points during the Tutorial. Am I right?"
"Y, yes, you are right…."
"But, how regretful. That amount would've been enough to get you to the top of the rankings. However, this time, it's only enough for the second place."
The girl's jaw dropped. Quite likely, she hadn't though of the possibility that someone else could've surpassed her in the points tally.
'Wait a minute? Didn't I also receive some Survival points as the starting bonus? Will they be invalid because I have the maximum amount of points?'
"Area 1…"
"I'm staying."
Yun Seora quickly got up from his seat.
"How many points did that girl receive, then?" Odelette Delphine asked.
"She got 10400 points including her starting bonus."
"Oh, wowsers. That's amazing…."
Yun Seora caught the object that Cinzia threw at here before sitting back down.
"Finally, Area 1, Jake Gojo."
"I'm staying. Just throw it here, I'll catch it."
Cinzia threw the object at Jake, as he caught it effortlessly.
"How many points did that guy receive, then?" Odelette Delphine asked.
"You shouldn't even ask. Just tallying up the original points alone, it's more than 1,000,000. Which is higher than everyone else here when combined. And with the Gold Mark got him a Mark of Survival with the 10 times multiplier. So he reached the maximum points holdable, which is 10,000,000 points."
"What! Did he cheat somehow?"
Odelette Delphine shouted in shock, with almost everyone but the people in Area 1 also being in shock.
"You know, I find it really amazing."
Cinzia unexpectedly displayed a certain amount of admiration.
"Not only your tiny nation earned the rights to recruit people independently, it even ended up producing an Irregular such as yourself, too…."
Thanks to her declaration and the amount of points Jake has, all attention that used to be focused on Odelette Delphine and Yun Seora were now firmly fixed on Jake.
Finally, Cinzia gave out a signal, prompting the maids to hurriedly descend from the stage and move to either side of the audience area.
"What are you all doing? Stand up!"
Jake got up and then told a few people in Area 1 to follow him if they want to get stronger, and they can meet him at the notice board in about an hour.
"The countdown to the month's deadline has begun already. What, you want me to spoon feed you everything you need before you'll starting moving your asses?"
Hearing this, Jake picked up his bag and went towards Odelette Delphine. Jake reached Odelette Delphine quickly, and then asked her for a chat.
"What do you want from me?"
"Do you want to get stronger? I can activate your mana circuits and teach you some skills using mana. The reason why I am proposing this is because you are very talented in magic, and I want to see how much I can let a few talented people grow stronger in the Neutral Zone."
"Fine. I will join. However you are not allowed to put too much mana in my mana circuit until I get to know you better."
"Okay. You will be thankful for your decision today. We will meet at the notice board in 1 hour."
Odelette Delphine agreed to Jake, to which Jake explained the meeting point before going to the next target.
Jake then went looking for Hao Win. Jake then asked him the same question, before he agreed.
Jake then went looking for Tong Chai. Jake then asked the same question to him, which he agreed to.
Jake then went looking for Salvatore Leorda and asked the same question to him, which he agreed to.

With the time Jake had remaining before the meeting time, he undid his seal until his stats were increase to Half-God (Pinnacle) and ran to the V.I.P Store.
When he got there, Jake noticed that there was a special badge sitting on the counter of the store. The badge had the words written 'Multi-Class Badge 2'
"How much for this badge?"
"This one? It costs 10,000,000 points to purchase."
"Okay. I will buy it."
Jake bought it after asking the shopkeeper the price. Jake then went back down, and went over to the notice board.
——————— Dividing Line ———————
The time has arrived after a short time passed after a Jake got there. At the notice board, all the people Jake asked to be there have come.
The people that he invited were: Yun Seora, Odelette Delphine, Hao Win, Tong Chai, Shin Sang-Ah, Yi Seol-Ah, Yi Sungjin, Salvatore Leorda, and Hyun Sangmin.
"Okay, it seems like you are all here, let's get moving. The place where you will be learning is in the No.1 Exclusive Residence because it is large enough, secret enough, and also currently is the place with the most abundant mana."
"How are you going to train us?"
While they were moving Odelette Delphine asked Jake.
"Well. First, I will activate all of your mana circuits. Second I will teach you all the skills using mana that I have learnt, which most of them should be skills that an average level 3 can get, and a few are skills that an average level 6-7 can get. At the same time, I will have you discharge your mana by turning it into wind, which will increase your mana stat. After 2 weeks of this, I will teach you how to fight using a weapon, which can be any weapon of your choosing. Don't think that you are good at using weapons because honestly, I feel like no one in the Neutral Zone at the moment is better than me at any weapon. After a month of time you will be awakening your classes, which if your mana stat has reached Intermediate (Low) you can become a mage. After that I will be giving you all intense training in all your skills, and will find the chief instructor to give you physical stat training as I haven't really done that at all. And after another month of intense training, in the final month you will all be doing missions, and I allow you to not fail a single mission."
"But… doesn't the Neutral Zone only last 1 month?"
Odelette Delphine asked Jake slightly worried.
"No. The 7 deities have clones in the Neutral Zone at this moment, which means they have something to do. And this something should be awakening classes."
Some time has passed and they have all reached the No.1 Exclusive room.
"Come in. And find a place to lay down."
Jake told them all, as they began to find somewhere comfortable.
"Okay, now we will start with Yun Seora. Please come sit in-front of me with your back facing me."
Jake said as Yun Seora did what he asked.
"Now. Your body might feel a little tingly in the process of activating your mana circuits. I am going to put my hand on your back which can be covered by clothes, and inject small amounts of mana into your body."
Jake started to explain the process to Yun Seora and the others who are watching as he placed his hand on her back. Jake injected a small amount of mana into Yun Seora, activating her mana circuit, which gave her the skill [Basic Mana Circuit Application].
Jake then did the same to the others, giving them the same skill. Jake then began split 5 clones that with him, personally taught them to improve the [Basic Mana Circuit Application] skill to the [Pinnacle Mana Circuit Application] skill. Which for Odelette Delphine took 10 minutes, which is the shortest, Yun Seora took 15 minutes, and the longest time which is 30 minutes, which is from Hyun Sangmin.
Jake then taught them the [Basic Mana Generator] skill, which the longest took 5 minutes. He then personally taught them to improve this skill to the [Pinnacle Mana Generator] skill. Which for Odelette Delphine took 20 minutes, and the longest Hyun Sangmin, took 1 hour.
Jake then taught them the [Superficial Element Manipulation] skill, which the longest took 3 minutes. He then personally taught them to improve this skill to the [Pinnacle Element Manipulation] skill. Which for Odelette Delphine took 15 minutes, and the longest Hyun Sangmin, took 40 minutes.
Jake then taught them the [Continuous Mana Circulation], [Mana Cloak], [Weapon Cloak], [Mana Physical Enhancement], [Mana Barrier], and the [Healing Hand] skills. Which for Odelette Delphine took 40 minutes, and the longest Hao Win, took 2 hours.
After each person learnt a skill Jake or his clones will teach them the next skill, and Odelette Delphine learnt all the skills before everyone but Yun Seora started learning the regular skills (skills without multiple types, Mana Cloak, Mana Barrier, etc). After Odelette Delphin learnt all the skills, Jake began to teach her how to increase proficiency the quickest and most efficient.
This is by using the [Continuous Mana Circulation] skill continuously, releasing the wind element using the [Pinnacle Element Manipulation] skill to endlessly create the wind element, restoring mana by using the [Pinnacle Mana Generator] skill, as the basic most efficient.
After being able to use more skills at once, add the [Mana Cloak], [Mana Barrier], [Healing Hand], [Weapon Cloak], and the [Mana Physical Enhancement] skills in that order, which will make you expend more mana quicker, increase the proficiency of the skills simultaneously, and more. However Jake also told all of them that if their mana circuits start to hurt, they must stop or they can break, making them unable to use mana.
"Now you will have to train constantly, before you rest in this exclusive room because it doubles your recovery speed. In the coming days I will leave my clones to teach you if I have something to do."
