Coiling Dragon: Reborn As The Armored Razorback Wyrm

Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Annihilation, Submission, and Overgod Oath

Half a month ago, three Rank-Five Magi from Ernst Institute of Magic entered the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts for training.

At first, they remained in the outer regions, hunting low-level magical beasts. However, the resources in the outer regions were too scarce, so they decided to venture a hundred miles deeper into the mountain range, where the rewards would be greater.

They had previously entered the mountain range under the guidance of their instructors, and believing themselves knowledgeable enough, they unanimously agreed to go deeper.

Initially, they successfully hunted several Rank-Five magical beasts and even managed to escape an encounter with a Rank-Six beast. This emboldened them, making them think the Mountain Range of Magical Beasts wasn't as terrifying as the rumors suggested.

But their arrogance was soon shattered when a Rank-Seven Violet Tattooed Bear attacked them.

In the ensuing battle, one of them perished while the remaining two were seriously injured. They barely managed to escape to the outskirts of the mountain range. As night fell, they sought shelter in a relatively safe spot.

That night, no magical beasts attacked them, but they encountered something far worse—bandits who lurked in the outskirts, preying on others.

The so-called bandits were, in reality, cultivators who also ventured into the mountain range for training. However, rather than honestly hunting magical beasts, they found that robbing weaker warriors and Magi was a much quicker way to gain wealth.

From high above, Sadius observed the scene.

Having been reincarnated in the Yulan Continent for over six years, this was the first time he had seen humans. Curious, he decided to watch the events unfold.

The black night sky concealed his presence, and naturally, no one noticed him.

Below, four Rank-Five warriors had surrounded the two Magi in an open clearing.

"Brothers, there's even a woman among them. Be careful not to kill her—we can all have some fun tonight."

Weapons in hand, the warriors slowly approached.

The two Magi stood back-to-back, gripping their staffs, bracing for the impending attack.

"We are students of the Ernst Institute of Magic! If you dare harm us, the academy's instructors will not let you go unpunished!" the female Magus warned.

Both were severely injured from their earlier escape from the Rank-Seven beast and were in no condition to fight off four Rank-Five warriors.

"Hah! An Ernst Institute student? That just makes it even better. It's been ages since we've had the pleasure of playing with a female Magus."

"Lena, I'll clear a path. We break through together!" her male companion declared.

She nodded, and the two began channeling their magic.

"Brothers, use the kite strategy. These two are already at their limit. Once they exhaust their magic, they'll be easy pickings."

In same-rank battles, Magi typically had the advantage due to their long-range attacks. Even though these two were heavily injured, caution was necessary.

Just as the two Magi prepared to unleash their spells, the male Magus suddenly struck Lena with a burst of Fire-elemental energy, sending her flying several meters away.

The bandits froze in shock.

Lena cried out in pain, turning to look at her supposed comrade.

Without hesitation, the male Magus took advantage of their stunned state and bolted into the dark forest.

"Damn it! That bastard ran off!" one of the bandits cursed.

They hesitated to chase him into the darkness, instead focusing on the remaining woman.

Lena, now utterly despairing, never imagined that in the end, she would be betrayed by her own ally.

"Forget him. Let's enjoy our prize."

The four men closed in, easily overpowering the injured Magus.

"Humans truly are despicable," Sadius muttered from the sky, sighing.

He had lost interest in watching further and was about to leave when something caught his attention.

"That woman said she's from Ernst Institute of Magic?"

He recalled that the Ernst Institute was the greatest magical academy in the Holy Union, renowned throughout the continent.

More importantly, the academy was located in Fenlai City, the capital of the Kingdom of Fenlai.

And Wushan Town was within the borders of the Kingdom of Fenlai.

"A perfect cover identity just presented itself."

His eyes gleamed with understanding, and without hesitation, he descended.

"You wretched humans dare pollute the great Sadius's sight. Begone at once!"

Below, the bandits were tearing at Lena's robes as she struggled, her terror reaching its peak.

Suddenly, a voice echoed in their ears.

The men froze.

"Boss… could it be that kid faking a strong voice to scare us?"

"Hmph, trying to bluff us? Let's finish this woman first and see what he dares to do."

They resumed their actions.

At that moment, an overwhelming Dragonforce aura descended upon them, rendering them immobile with terror.

A shadowy figure over a meter long swooped down from the sky—Sadius, having shrunk his form to a tenth of its actual size.

"Fools who ignore my warnings court death."

Suspended in midair, he stared down at them.

A magical beast capable of speech!

A Saint-level Magical Beast!

Anyone with basic knowledge of the Yulan Continent knew that only Saint-level beasts could speak human tongue.

Their legs trembled with fear.

"L-Lord…" one stammered, attempting to speak.

Sadius had no interest in their words. Without even raising a claw, he unleashed the power of Destruction, enveloping the four warriors. In an instant, their bodies were obliterated.

His gaze then shifted to the disheveled and petrified Lena.

She remained on the ground, eyes filled with sheer terror.

She had just witnessed this Saint-level Magical Beast effortlessly annihilate four Rank-Five warriors. How could she not be afraid?

It seemed she was destined to become a meal for the beast.

But then, the immense Dragonforce receded.

"Woman, I saved your life. How will you repay me?"

Her fear momentarily turned to bewilderment.

Had she heard correctly?

This Saint-level Magical Beast wanted repayment?

Trembling, Lena quickly knelt and bowed.

"Lord, I, Lena, am willing to serve as your humble servant, repaying your grace for saving my life."

Sadius smirked. His goal had been achieved.

"Good. Then swear upon the Overgod of Fate—submit to the great Sadius and never betray me."

Lena hesitated. Overgod of Fate?

"Lord, who is the Overgod of Fate?"

"You do not need to know. Simply swear the oath."

Seeing no other choice, she immediately swore her allegiance.

"I, Lena, swear upon the Overgod of Fate. From this moment forth, I submit to the great Lord Sadius and shall never betray him."
