Childhood Sweethearts: He’s Jealous Again!

Chapter 19 - 19: Large Class

Chapter 19: Chapter 19: Large Class

Gu Zhihan showed no surprise at her response; he looked at Luo Mengmeng, who was busy eating, and asked with a look of disdain, “Is there anything in your brain other than eating?”

“There’s you as well!” Mengmeng lifted her delicate, fair face from the sticky rice dumpling, and smiled at him with curved eyes.

Her smile was childish, innocent, and pure, capable of softening the heart of anyone who saw it.

Flustered by the flirtation, Gu Zhihan’s handsome face turned red immediately.

Mom Gu couldn’t help but giggle quietly, giving full marks to her skill in flirting with the young man.

“You little rascal!” Gu Zhihan struggled for words and finally managed to utter one.

Mengmeng couldn’t help but wonder, “Is there such a phrase as ‘little rascal’? Isn’t it usually ‘old rascal’?”

“When you’re old, you’ll be an old rascal,” Gu Zhihan said through gritted teeth, pausing after each word.

“…”

Luo Mengmeng pursed her lips.

Even if she was to be improper, it would only be with him!

Mom Gu was almost driven crazy by these two kids’ antics, laughing while she ate.

“Godmother, be careful not to choke,” Mengmeng warned, looking concerned at Mom Gu, who was laughing like the jolly Mr. Wang next door.

Speaking of which, Mom Gu did indeed start choking.

“Cough cough cough!”

Mom Gu hastily grabbed a glass of water and gulped it down to swallow the food.

“Serves you right.”

Gu Zhihan had already been annoyed by his mother’s schadenfreude, and now he naturally had to add insult to injury.

“You little scoundrel!”

Mom Gu took off her shoe, ready to throw it at him.

But Gu Zhihan had already retreated to his bedroom, so the shoe didn’t hit him at all.

“Godmother, I’ve finished eating too!”

Seeing him leave, Luo Mengmeng immediately ran after him as well.

When Mengmeng entered his room, she saw him sitting at the desk again.

“Husband, why are you reading again? Am I not good to look at? I look pretty good!” Mengmeng teased as she walked over and then started talking incessantly by his ear.

Just like those little foxes in TV dramas that bewitch scholars, she made it hard for Gu Zhihan to read in peace.

Frustrated by the noise, Gu Zhihan finally glanced at her, “Stop being so vain!”

Mengmeng hummed and twitched her little nose, “It’s not vanity, it’s a fact!”

“…”

Gu Zhihan had completely stopped paying attention to her.

The summer vacation passed quickly, and before they knew it, it was time to start senior kindergarten.

“Ah, it’s back to prison again.” On the first day of kindergarten, Mengmeng, carrying her pink backpack, sighed and gripped Gu Zhihan’s hand as they walked together toward the kindergarten.

Summer had been so much fun; she could spend every day with Gu Zhihan in his room, just the two of them. Once school started, all the classmates and teachers around them were like third wheels.

“Kids, this is your last year in kindergarten. Cherish your life here,” said Tao Teacher, who was also their teacher this year, still that familiar single dog.

“Who would cherish life in prison!” Below, Mengmeng couldn’t help but quietly snort in disagreement.

Gu Zhihan: “…” Why was there such a creature who hated school so much!

Teacher Tao on stage continued, “There is another announcement. Tomorrow, the kindergarten will organize a field trip. The destination is a farmhouse vineyard for grape picking, and you can bring your parents along.”

Hearing this, a group of kids, who had lived in the city all their lives, immediately showed longing looks.

“Teacher, can we eat as many grapes as we like there?” Mengmeng promptly stood up and asked a question she was particularly concerned about as soon as the teacher finished.

“Of course!” Teacher Tao smiled and nodded at Mengmeng, since the kindergarten would collect a fee beforehand anyway.

“Perfect!” Mengmeng quickly wiped the drool already leaking from her mouth corners, wishing time would jump directly to Wednesday so she could devour a whole vineyard.

Gu Zhihan still wore a look of disdain, simply unable to understand how there could be someone in the world who neither liked to study nor was consumed by gluttony!
