chapter 15
15 – He told me to eat
Han Yuna, who laid me down, brought a round chair with no back support that was next to the desk and sat down next to it. She’s the chair I sit on when she’s out of Hanyu and occasionally comes over to my house to watch what I’m doing on the computer. It’s probably the first time it’s been used like this.
“What about rice?”
“Collock! Um, ate What time is it?”
If she said she didn’t want to eat because it was annoying, she covered it up with lies because it was obvious what kind of reaction would come, but as long as I heard that, I couldn’t feel a single nanogram of trust in my eyes.
“You’re lying, you probably didn’t eat because it was annoying. Do you think I will see you for a day or two?”
“… ….”
If you know that well, why did you ask, this answer is you. It’s even scarier that it’s the right answer.
“Did your aunt finish cooking?”
“Uh, uh…. Maybe there will be porridge…. Cool! Cool!”
You can’t answer because of this f*cking cough. In the meantime, the condition of her throat has deteriorated a lot, and every time she opens her mouth, she feels a sharp pain like a needle stuck in her throat. My head is getting dizzy too.
First of all, I should wear a mask appropriately. It might be a little uncomfortable to breathe, but it’s better than passing a cold to the guy who’s visiting the hospital. I just need to use it until Han Yuna is gone anyway.
“Han Yuna, I’m sorry, but the mask behind that….”
“You mean this?”
“Right, that one.”
It was difficult to get up from her seat, so Hanyu asked me to hand over the mask that was hanging next to her desk, and quickly put it on. I don’t know if it’ll be effective because it’s just a fashion mask, not the quarantine mask I used in the midst of this situation, but it’s still better than nothing.
As she puts on her mask and pulls the blanket up to her neck, her breathing becomes increasingly short of breath, possibly due to the fever. When her body aches, this is a headache. The body is full of heat, but the head is cold, and it makes a fuss, so it is hard to know which beat to match.
“I’ll bring porridge, so lie down. Can’t we just heat it up?”
“Uh, but I’ll eat it later, so leave it alone….”
She wasn’t hungry anyway, so she tried to stop me, thinking that she would take care of herself when her fever subsided, but the guy turned around and her eyes glared at me like a wildcat, so she couldn’t continue her words.
“Can you say it again?”
“Oh, no thank you.”
“… Joy.”
Perhaps she thought it was something she hadn’t even thought of, Hanyuna snorted and ran out of her room and headed for the kitchen. Even though it’s like this, I’m serious about saying thank you, but I don’t think it’s too much of a reaction. Although the words flowed half unconsciously, frightened by the look in her eyes.
Anyway, the human mind is ironic. When she came to visit her on the subject of wanting that this news would not reach her ears just because she wanted to leave Hanyu and worry for nothing, she came to see her, looking at the reassuring bottom line.
Actually, it was more like a home invasion than a visit to the hospital, but in the end, isn’t it important that I’m being taken care of?
Ah, after thinking a lot, my head starts to get dizzy again. It feels like my throat is burning too. It would be nice to be able to drink at least some cool water at times like this.
Tak.
The moment that thought came to her mind, a soft sound as if something was being put down came softly into her quiet ear. I opened my eyes at the sound and barely moved my head to the side to check the table next to the bed.
There was a transparent cup filled with water on the table, and Han Yuna was standing next to it, looking down at me. Apparently, he brought it by hand while the porridge was heating up.
“Drink whenever you are thirsty. They say it’s good to drink a lot of water when you have a cold.”
“Yes, yes.”
It was a little embarrassing at the meticulous consideration that was not typical of Han Yuna, but she was soon forgotten as she lost consciousness in the oasis she found while enduring a burning throat.
In the meantime, I even brought it with moderately lukewarm water, not cold water. I wonder if Yuna Han, the one I know, is right. I had a similar situation in middle school before, but back then I was busy eating ice cream right in front of my eyes. Did the child grow up in the meantime?
Anyway, with a feeling of deep emotion, when I drank at once the water Hanyu brought, it seemed that she came to her senses at least a little. In her mind, she wanted to lie down a little longer, but she leaned against her back as she felt the presence of Hanyuna returning to the kitchen.
Because I’m not a critically ill patient, and I can’t lie down and ask Han Yuna to feed me porridge.
“Still, thank you for being my childhood friend and taking care of me. Eat well… ?”
I was about to take her hand to the spoon that was placed on her tray with a brief thank you, but Hanyu snatched it right in front of her as if she was snatching it.
Hanyu looks at me in a moment of bewilderment, wondering if this idiot is trying to play a prank on a sick person. Is she going to tell me to eat it with her own hands when this isn’t even India?
“Even though I don’t have the strength to lift a spoon anyway. I’ll feed you, so just keep quiet and eat.”
“Cool! My, am i a kid? Don’t talk nonsense, give it to me, I don’t have the strength to play around.”
This time, it was not a cough from a cold, but a leak from embarrassment. That’s why Yuna Han’s declaration was absurd.
No matter how much energy you have, it’s not to the point where you can’t even lift a spoon properly. If it was that much in the first place, I would have gone to the hospital, why would I lie at home? Maybe this guy can’t think.
“I’m not joking either, am I? If you don’t do this, you’re doing this because it’s obvious that you won’t eat half of it, you fool.”
“Okay, I’ll eat it, so please….”
For me, who had been thinking of just pretending to eat moderately and leaving it whole, I hit the spot. She honestly couldn’t be sure if she’d be able to eat it all, but she begged for a spoon because it was better than being humiliated.
“… ….”
However, because of Han Yuna’s eyes that I met along the way, I had to declare the white flag in the end. It’s difficult to express because of the lack of vocabulary, but her eyes seemed to say that if she didn’t do this, she wouldn’t be able to endure it.
Anyway, that’s why I didn’t want it to go into Hanyu or her ears as much as possible. It’s obvious that you think it’s your fault, from getting caught in the rain yesterday to catching a cold. Besides, he’s been a guy who couldn’t live without debt to others since the old days, so that guilt must pierce the sky.
For me, who can see through the heart, this situation is as good as it gets. If he refuses Han Yuna’s favor until the end, he becomes a bad guy, and if he accepts it, he becomes a shameless idiot. Of course, if you choose the better one.
“Yes, eat, eat. It’s such a strange place to be stubborn.”
Probably the latter. Apart from becoming a bad guy, if Han Yuna puts today’s work in her mind until the end, it will only cause more trouble. It would be better to use this opportunity to pay off all debts.
“Hmph, it should have come out like that a long time ago.”
“Is that possible? At this age, it’s not even her mother, and she’s getting porridge from a friend of her age…. Ugh.”
She didn’t. She was still dizzy, but she teased her mouth more, which shouldn’t have been teased, and her head throbbed, and she stopped talking.
It’s annoying to even think about this. Just today, I have become a sparrow receiving food from my mother, so I have to finish my meal while mind-controlling myself, take my medicine, and then go to sleep. Since ancient times, it has been said that sleep is the best medicine for illness.
Giving up everything, I leaned weakly against the backrest and looked at Han Yuna, as if telling me to boil or bake whatever I wanted.
A guy who puts on an expression that he has won, scoops out an appropriate amount of vegetable porridge with a spoon and brings it to his mouth. I couldn’t control my eyes that were getting bigger and bigger, and I watched the scene in silence.
Unsurprisingly, my voiceless cries to please stop faded away and the scene I was worried about finally unfolded.
“Whoa, whoa.”
“… ….”
“Now, open your mouth.”
I was at a loss for words because I wondered if he was such a kid with no shame.
As far as I know, I’m a woman who can put ten steel plates on her face if necessary, but she’s the type who is more vulnerable to cheesy behavior and chicken skin. In a sense, it can be seen as a personality optimized for idols.
That Hanyu doesn’t change her complexion and blows hot porridge into her mouth to cool it down, then she puts it into my mouth? You bastard, you’re not Hanyuna. I assure you, this is something wearing the mask of Han Yuna. Otherwise, it is impossible to explain.
“What are you doing? My arm hurts, so eat quickly.”
Han Yuna brushed me off as I stared blankly at the spoon full of vegetable porridge. She wants to run away even now, but she doesn’t have the strength to run away anyway, and a man can’t say two words with her mouth….
“Hup.”
I opened her mouth and pushed the porridge into her with the momentum to swallow her spoon. She had to nibble and eat only to make this painful time longer, so she decided to get rid of it as soon as possible and send Hanyuna back.
“Isn’t it hot?”
“… Uh.”
She still had porridge in her mouth, so she answered in a slurred tone. Anyway, no taste at all. I don’t know if it’s because of her stuffy nose because of a cold, or because of the current situation reminiscent of a black comedy.
Still, the beginning is half done, and after putting a mouthful of her in my mouth, I feel that my shame has lessened than before. As long as I get rid of death quickly like this, I can be liberated.
After making up her mind to put an iron plate on her face as well, she looked at me with a curious gaze. She seemed to ask me to come and see where she was going.
“… Whoops.”
“… ….”
But the person who actually caused the incident must have felt ashamed belatedly, so he blushed and avoided my gaze.
… No, what if you come all the way here and you get embarrassed? I’m going back, really.
