Childhood Friend Is a Genius Wizard

chapter 6

EP1. The Beginning of Everything (6)

We gazed at the beautiful scenery for a while.

At the top of a small hill that rises slightly off the side of the mountain, at the base of an infinitely large tree.

We sat together and watched the sunset set on the fields below the hill.

I thought this scenery was like a painting.

Feels like it’s not real.

Yes. To Shawn, this place looked like a scene from a fairy tale.

At this moment filled only with happiness, this place was the stage for a happy ending.

Levy seemed to be feeling it and enjoying the moment long before Shawn came.

But Shawn couldn’t fully enjoy the moment.

It was an unknown feeling.

Ever since I first discovered this place and saw Levi’s smile.

Sean was overcome by that feeling. He couldn’t look at Levi’s face beside him.

Even as time passed, that feeling did not diminish, but only grew.

So Shawn forced Levy to change his mind.

“Levi, how long have you been here? Do you know how long I have been looking for you?”

“Hey. Sorry. I thought Shawn was following me.”

“I thought you were in big trouble. But did you come all this way because you got lost?”

“Well… I missed the squirrel and kept following it, but it didn’t run away completely and kept stopping to look back at me once in a while, right? He must have meant to follow you. So I followed it and here it came. At some point, he disappeared.”

‘I went through all this trouble because of that squirrel!’

But thanks to that, I was able to see this place, so maybe it’s the feeling of giving me medicine?

“It wasn’t until I came here that I noticed that Sean was gone, so I stayed still thinking that if I stayed here, Sean would look for him on his own. But it’s a bit late.”

It’s a bit late, it seemed like they spent hours looking for Levi. Maybe Levy was so immersed in this place that she didn’t even notice the passing of time?

At some point, more than half of Sunset’s body sank into the ground.

I found out that the village is in the opposite direction from the mountain, but since I don’t know the exact way to the village, I may get lost for a long time on my way back to the village from the mountain.

After thinking that, Shawn glanced at Levi and spoke to her.

“Levy, let’s go back now. If I’m late, my uncle will worry.”

Even with those words, Levy looked at the sunset in silence for a while.

What are you thinking right now? Sean couldn’t figure out what Levy was thinking.

After a while, Levy slowly turned his head and looked straight at Shawn.

Sean made eye contact with Levi and her face went red for some reason.

Levy, who had been holding Sean in his emerald eyes for a while, soon.

We talked while smiling.

“Shaun, this is our secret place now!”

“A secret place?”

“Yes! Don’t tell anyone! Only the two of us know got it?”

Levi’s words, his smile.

Sean could only blankly nod his head.

Levi’s smile changed to his usual hesitant laugh before he knew it.

A girl’s smile is deeply rooted in a boy’s heart.

I will live my whole life like that.

That day the boy started to fall in love.

***

In the mountains.

When Sean was looking for Levy, it was a steep mountain road with high slopes and bumpy floors.

The road back to town for Sean and Levi seemed like a flat, safe walk.

I can’t believe there was a road like this! Sean felt as if all his efforts had gone to waste.

Yes. Levi knew the way back to the village. It’s a pretty good way too.

When Sean asked how she knew the way, Levy replied as if it were natural.

“Huh? That’s because I saw it once when I was following a squirrel. I don’t remember that much. Could it be that Sean doesn’t even remember this much?”

To memorize it all. Normally, Sean snorted when Levy said he was smart, but now he might have to admit that Levy is really smart.

‘That’s it, I didn’t even come this way in the first place.’

Unbeknownst to him, Sean felt as though his efforts to find Levy were in vain.

Is Levy really a genius? While he was thinking about it, Sean suddenly thought.

A little unrealistic imagination. Shawn saw Levy wearing it on his arm.

Burnt Spellbook.

Come to think of it, Levi said that he seemed to be able to read the words of the magic book.

Of course, worms and snails, it seemed to Sean that Levy had just interpreted them on his own.

Maybe Levi really has a talent for magic?

Originally, rumor has it that wizards are very smart and have strange talents that are different from ordinary people.

Levy seems to be smart because he has a good memory, and animals like Levi is a mysterious skill, isn’t it?

‘Otherwise, Levy is pretty. Originally, mages give off a mysterious feeling, but Levi’s appearance is enough to make you feel mysterious.’

It’s a bit of an awkward fit-in, but it’s not completely unreasonable.

In Sean’s eyes, this thought was not just a delusion, but he grew more and more convinced that it was real enough.

Levy becomes a wizard?

He can’t believe his childhood friend since birth could be a wizard!

If Levi can really use magic, what will she do next?

Sean said while looking at Levi and Levi’s magic book.

“Levy.”

“Huh? What’s the matter? …Ahang! Are you hungry? I still have one acorn left over. Shall I give it to you?”

Suddenly acorns, no, of course it’s true that Sean is very hungry, but isn’t it too out of the blue?

‘That stupid guy is a wizard?’

Doubts welled up, but Shawn let go of his bad thoughts about Levy and spoke up.

“No, it’s not that, it’s… The magic book you have. With that, if you learn magic, you become a wizard.”

When Sean suddenly brings up the subject of magic to Levy, Levy exclaims that Sean is finally starting to take an interest in magic.

“Of course not! I bought this to become a wizard! Why? Are you envious? Don’t worry! I’ll lend it to you when I finish!”

But Sean shook his head at Levy’s words.

“No, not that, Levy. Then what do you want to do most when you become a wizard?”

“If you become a wizard…? Hmmm…”

Levy thought about Sean’s question. What if you become a wizard?

Well, actually, Levy was only focused on becoming a wizard, he didn’t particularly think about what to do after becoming a wizard.

In the first place, the desire to become a wizard was only after buying the burnt magic book from the merchant.

Levi thought why he wanted to be a wizard himself.

And then I realized.

He had only one reason to become a wizard.

“Shaun! Come to think of it, you talked to Grandpa Paulo this morning.”

“Uh…? Oh yes.”

‘Grandpa Paulo? Come to think of it, you also talked about magic with Grandpa Paulo.’

Sean nodded his head at that thought.

“Grandpa Paulo said that talented wizards go to the Mage Tower. Yes?”

“Yes. They say that skilled wizards are offered to come to the Mage Tower.”

“Then is the world’s greatest wizard also in the Mage Tower?”

“Um… Well? Maybe so? Originally, there was a saying that the best wizard in the world would become the master of the mage tower. But why?”

“I have decided! When he becomes a wizard, he will enter the Mage Tower!”

A magic tower? Of course, I had heard that any wizard with skill would want to enter the Mage Tower, but Levi’s firm words gave the impression that there was no need for anything other than entering the Mage Tower.

“Magic Tower? Is there any special reason?”

“Yes! After all, if you enter the Magic Tower… You will surely be able to meet the wizard from The Princess and the Wizard!”

Sean agrees with Levi’s words. I thought.

This is Levy’s favorite fairy tale. The story is that the wizard did not defeat the witch, but saved the princess with the magic he developed over decades, and the two lived happily ever after.

Unlike Levy, Sean didn’t like the story very much. That’s because, from Sean’s point of view, the wizard seemed to avoid fighting the witch because he was not confident.

In fact, even at the end of this fairy tale, it is only said that the witch disappeared over time. There is no mention of death anywhere.

As for Sean, who likes stories in which the main character defeats the villain in style, I couldn’t understand Levy, who likes

The Princess and the Wizard.

And in the first place, this story is a fairy tale, not history. I don’t know if it’s a real story or not.

Also, when Shawn thought that the ending of the fairy tale was that they lived happily ever after, it seemed like a made-up story no matter how you look at it.

But to meet the main character, the wizard!

Levy was completely unaware of Sean’s thoughts, and she jumped with joy as if she were thinking about the future when she met the wizard.

“Hey! What do you talk about when you meet a wizard? Should I say thank you for saving the princess? What if the magician sees me and falls in love with me? Of course, he will reject me, but the two of them shouldn’t fight because of me, wow! hehehe.”

As if Levy couldn’t even see Sean next to her, she was writing a novel by herself.

Seeing Levy like that, for some reason, Sean seemed to be annoyed with the wizard who wasn’t even getting angry.

‘I don’t like you. Who would like a wacky kid like you over a princess? I’m sure the kid will kick me out for not being interested.’

Nevertheless, it seemed that Levy next to him continued to imagine himself alone, so Sean said to Levy.

“By the way, do you know what Levy is?”

“Huh? Like what?”

“They say you can’t come out of the Magic Tower once you enter it.”

“···What? Really? Hey, are you lying again? Are you envious of me meeting the wizard?”

I almost got really angry at Levy’s words this time, but Sean managed to hold back it and continued.

“Hey, when did I say I lied to you? And it’s real. They say that once you enter the Mage Tower, you have to stay in the Mage Tower for the rest of your life, except for special events or going out for a short time with the permission of the owner of the Mage Tower.”

Levy denied Sean’s words at first, but when Sean’s words seemed to be true, he immediately stopped fantasizing. And he said

“Then I won’t go to the Mage Tower.”

Sean was taken aback by Levy’s words. Of course, to be honest, he said it was a little twisted because he didn’t like the look of Levy, but he didn’t know that Levy would give up so easily.

Because Sean knew how much Levy liked the story of The Princess and the Wizard.

“Why? Can I actually meet the wizard?”

“Even if I do, it’s useless. If you can’t get out I meant to meet the wizard and learn the magic of living forever.”

“A magic to live forever?”

“Yes, I will learn the magic of living forever, and me, Dad, and Sean, the three of us, will live happily ever after.”

Saying that, Levy smiled.

It was as if the scene was drawn in Levi’s mind.

Yes. The reason Levi likes wizards.

She’s the reason why she wanted to be a wizard too.

It was only because of that one thing.

***

It was only after the sun had completely set that the two left the mountain and returned to the village.

The road Levi knew was not only very convenient, but also close to the village.

Sean wondered why he had wandered the mountain for so long.

Anyway, the two of them were able to return to the village right after sunset, and this amount of time was the same as when they were late playing in the mountains from time to time, so it didn’t seem like a big problem.

Of course, apart from that, Levy will be pretty scolded by the old man. Whenever Levi was late, Paul always scolded him loudly. Sean was also scolded for being by his side.

Anyway, I can’t go to Levi’s house today.

“Hey, can I sleep at Sean’s house tonight?”

I asked Sean pitifully if Levy expected that Paul would be scolded, but.

In the first place, except when we were young, the two of us had never slept together and had no intention of doing so.

Especially today, when I see Levy, I keep feeling incomprehensible, so Shawn refuses the request and instead comforts Levy as much as possible.

So Sean parted ways with Levy in front of the town’s mayor before arriving home.

The reason he broke up at the market rather than in front of the house was because he shouldn’t run into Paul.

More than that, it was because Sean hadn’t eaten anything today.

Luckily, Levy had an early lunch before coming to Paulo’s forge, but Sean was starving all day.

Even after walking around the mountains like that for several hours, Sean is now dying of hunger with a little exaggeration.

So Sean went straight to the market after breaking up with Levy and bought dinner with the money Paulo gave him.

‘Since we ate meat yesterday, shall we buy some fish today?’

Sean was going to go home after buying something simple for dinner at the market.

Then someone called Shawn from behind.

“Shaun!”

‘Who are you?’

Sean turned around at the sound calling him.
