Chapter 6: 08 First Time [Memories]
Chelsea remembers her first surgery.
On her first day, Mr. Lancer assigned Chelsea an essay about herself. He wanted to know who she was and what her life had been like up until then. She hid her groan when he gave her the assignment. Now, at her kitchen table, she let it out.
What could she write? She thought about her life. She had been through some traumatic stuff because she grew up ill. She remembered her first surgery, remembered the feeling of being scared stiff. Her parents helped her through the ordeal, and every surgery after that first time wasn't as bad.
She wrote down her memory but was short on the word count. Mr. Lancer required 2,500 words for this essay, and she only had 1,000. She hadn't ever written anything so long. Groaning again she tried to come up with something else.
Writing about fireworks took up 500 words. Meeting her new friends in Amity Park gave her another 500. Just 500 left to go. Too bad she couldn't write about being half ghost. The thought inspired her, though, and she wrote about her cousin's comics.
There. 2,500 words (give or take) about her life. All she had to do was edit it and type it up. No big deal, right?
