Chapter 9
“The story of K originates from something called the Dresden Slate.”
“The Dresden Slate selects individuals on its own (possibly ordinary humans), turning them into Authority Holders capable of summoning the Sword of Damocles.”
Once chosen as an Authority Holder, both physical strength and intelligence are developed to their maximum potential.
Therefore, Authority Holders are much stronger in all aspects compared to regular people.
“There are seven Authority Holders in total: the Silver King, Golden King, Red King, Blue King, Green King, Gray King, and Colorless King.”
“Izumonosuke is the first Authority Holder among the seven, the Silver King.”
“Different Authority Holders possess different attributes: eternal silver, fated gold, red violence, blue order, green change, and gray protection.”
“And the most special, the Colorless King, whose abilities are uncertain due to being colorless.”
Bai Luo said, “In this generation, the Colorless King’s ability is interference, specifically manifested by the consciousness detaching from the body and taking over someone else’s form.”
Misaka Mikoto: “What a bizarre ability?”
Kurumi Tokisaki: “Sounds kind of gross, possessing someone else’s body like that.”
Bai Luo thought, ‘You have no right to say that.’
Who knows how many past times are hidden in Kurumi’s shadows?
Tanjiro Kamado: “Yeah, it feels pretty evil.”
A few members of the chat group, Tanjiro and Izumonosuke, were just simple good kids.
Ace may be tsundere but is equally kind-hearted.
As for Kurumi, even though she is an antagonist, the girl didn’t want her body invaded by others.
Bai Luo: “I’m not quite sure about the name of this generation’s Colorless King. In the anime I watched, his identity and background were never mentioned.”
“Not long ago, the Colorless King successfully tricked the Silver King and swapped bodies with him.”
“All of the above is what happened before you lost your memory.”
Hearing this, everyone suddenly understood the current situation of Izumonosuke.
He had been body-swapped, which led to the memory loss.
Izumonosuke: “Is that so? So I went through such an event too.”
Misaka Mikoto: “Poor Izumonosuke (pat head.jpg)”
Kurumi Tokisaki: “Poor Izumonosuke (pat head.jpg)”
Tanjiro Kamado: “Poor Izumonosuke (pat head.jpg)”
‘At this point, Izumonosuke probably hasn’t met Cat Girl yet.’
Bai Luo thought, ‘Should I find an opportunity to kidnap Cat Girl?’
Cat Girl is a character from K, an awakened Outsider Abilities User.
In the world of K, the seven Authority Holders have the power to grant their strength to others, thus forming their own clans.
Outsider Abilities Users are those who naturally awaken abilities without receiving them from Authority Holders.
Their powers aren’t bestowed by Authority Holders, so they aren’t bound by them, nor can they pass on their powers to others.
Cat Girl can interfere with and manipulate the perceptions of people within a specific range centered around herself, causing hallucinations, auditory illusions, and even modifying memories to some extent.
Additionally, Cat Girl appeals to Bai Luo’s furry fetish.
Who wouldn’t like a cute pet-like girl?
“Need help?”
Bai Luo said, “I can’t do anything for Tanjiro at the moment, but I should be able to help you, Izumonosuke.”
Izumonosuke: “Can you? Then please…”
“Hey, hey.”
Misaka Mikoto didn’t wait for Izumonosuke to agree and quickly interjected, “You know everyone’s information, but we don’t know anything about you, that’s too unfair, isn’t it?”
Kurumi Tokisaki: “That’s right, don’t try to slip through unnoticed, Mr. Bai Luo.”
They were reminding Izumonosuke not to easily trust strangers.
Bai Luo also realized this.
He had been too proactive.
“Haha, sorry, I got overly excited meeting characters from my favorite anime.”
Bai Luo introduced himself, “My name is Bai Luo. I was originally from the Celestial Kingdom, but now I’ve crossed over into a light novel world called Desiring to Become a Shadow Skill User.”
Other than revealing his trump card, the enhancement system, everything else he said was fine.
“As for my world, well, it’s quite chaotic.”
“Chaotic?”
Everyone was confused. Kurumi Tokisaki asked, “Are you guys still at war or something?”
“No large-scale wars, just local conflicts here and there. On the surface, it’s relatively peaceful.”
Bai Luo said, “When I say chaotic, I mean the chaos in the shadow world.”
The Shadow World has two layers: the surface appears peaceful with minimal disputes, where human nations coexist harmoniously.
However, in reality, the Diablo Sect hides in the shadows, controlling nearly every aspect of the world while constantly causing trouble.
Human trafficking, evil experiments, mind control, theft of wealth and power.
The Shadow World is a beautiful dream crafted by the Diablo Sect.
Everyone lives in lies, completely unaware that they are merely pawns and expendable resources in others’ eyes.
“Just recently, I rescued Beast People from a group of criminals.”
Bai Luo sent a photo of a nearby beast-eared girl to the group chat: “Look, this is the destroyed village and the homeless children.”
“Oh, so cute!!”
Offline, Kurumi Tokisaki almost melted looking at the beast-eared girl in Bai Luo’s photo.
Kurumi is a cat lover; she has no resistance to fluffy, adorable creatures.
But when she thought about these cute children losing their homes and becoming displaced,
Kurumi Tokisaki couldn’t help but feel furious: “Those people truly deserve death!”
“It’s outrageous.”
Growing up in a peaceful era, Misaka Mikoto immediately condemned the actions of the evil organization.
Afterward, she muttered quietly, “Unfortunately, there are no frog Beast People.”
Bai Luo: “Frog-type Beast People don’t exist in this world.”
Misaka Mikoto: “How did you know what I was thinking? Telepathy? Telepathy across the internet?”
Kurumi Tokisaki: “What’s going on?”
Kurumi didn’t understand why Ace was so agitated.
“Did he guess your thoughts?”
Kurumi quickly realized: “Frog-type Beast People? That sounds disgusting.”
“Huh?”
Hearing someone criticize Wata, Ace couldn’t bear it: “What are you saying? Wata is so cute!”
“Wata, Wata?”
Kurumi didn’t understand what Wata was. She thought for a moment and uncertainly said, “You… named a frog?”
‘Sss!!’
In reality, Kurumi felt a chill and began questioning Ace’s sense of aesthetics.
Misaka Mikoto: “Picture, picture, picture!”
Misaka Mikoto: “Look! This is Wata! Isn’t it cute?”
“…”
Looking at the picture of Wata sent by Ace, Kurumi only felt eye pain: “You… are this type of character, huh?”
A comedic role?
Abstract, too damn abstract.
Kurumi didn’t understand, but she was deeply shocked.
“Cough, cough.”
Bai Luo: “Well, Wata is actually quite cute.”
“Hm?”
Misaka Mikoto: “Sorry, I misspoke earlier. You’re a good person.”
People who like Wata are never bad!
“Uh, thanks.”
Being given a “good person card” by Ace, Bai Luo felt a bit awkward.
“Yes, yes, I think so too. Brother Bai Luo is indeed a good person.”
Tanjiro’s view of good and evil is very pure. In his opinion, Bai Luo, who is willing to help these children, is definitely not an evil person.
Izumonosuke: “Do you need help?”
Bai Luo: “Given your current situation, you still plan to help me?”
Izumonosuke: “Ahaha, I just instinctively spoke up.”
“It’s fine, thank you for your concern.”
Bai Luo: “Fortunately, the number of children on my side isn’t too high, so I can manage to take care of them.”
“However, if you could help purchase some daily necessities, that would be even better.”
Bai Luo added, “Don’t worry, I’ll pay for it.”
“Alright, I’ll see what I can do.”
In fact, after Bai Luo’s reminder, Izumonosuke already felt the power within him.
This is akin to the concept of “obstacle of perception” in Buddhism.
Once broken through, mastering the power of the Silver King becomes natural.
“Whoosh~~”
Mysteriously, the young man’s heart moved.
Suddenly, he was enveloped in a pale white glow, rising into the air as if weightless, passing through the roof’s gap in a blink, disappearing into the distance.
However, Izumonosuke failed to notice that in a corner of the warehouse, a pure white kitten was staring blankly at this scene.
“Meow?”
The little white cat tilted its head, full of question marks on its forehead.
What was that thing just now?
Why did it vanish so quickly?
Perhaps unable to comprehend such profound matters, the little white cat shook its head and stopped paying attention, then leapt into the shadows.
Misaka Mikoto: “According to what you said, the world is so dangerous, and you have to take care of the children. Are you really okay?”
“Maa, don’t worry, I’m quite capable here.”
“For instance, just now, I defeated the protagonist of this world.”
While speaking, Bai Luo sent a massive crater left from his previous battle with the shadow to the group chat.
“!!!!”
Instantly, the entire chat group erupted in excitement.
Misaka Mikoto: “What is this? A meteor crater?!”
Kurumi Tokisaki: “So exaggerated!”
Although the spatial quakes caused by Pokémon in the alternate world far exceed the destruction caused by Bai Luo and the shadow,
the issue is that spatial quakes also vary in levels.
Like the spatial quake triggered by Miyako Sumi during her appearance, its power was immense enough to erase Mongolia from the earth’s surface.
But such a level of spatial quake is beyond other Pokémon.
As far as Bai Luo knows, the maximum power of a spatial quake can obliterate everything on the surface, but weaker ones might not even destroy a building.
For Kurumi, while she can trigger a five-kilometer-range spatial quake, she absolutely cannot control it.
After all, spatial quakes belong to forces outside the norm.
Triggering is one thing; controlling is another.
If Bai Luo could survive such destruction, based on his physical capabilities, even a spatial quake hundreds of kilometers wide might not kill him.
Thus, Kurumi was extremely impressed by Bai Luo’s strength.
‘Even if I could return 30 years ago, with my power, could I really kill the Original Pokémon?’
Kurumi hesitated to act because the time for gathering information wasn’t sufficient, and she lacked confidence in her own abilities.
However, now…
“If what he says is true, with such power…”
Kurumi Tokisaki believed that if she could get Bai Luo’s help and both of them attacked the Original Pokémon together, they might actually win!
“Looks like I need to adjust my attitude towards him.”
To obtain this formidable combat force, Kurumi decided to improve her relationship with Bai Luo.
“Ssss~”
Izumonosuke noticed the image Bai Luo sent and was startled.
Adolf K. Wiesmann: “With such power, if Bai Luo wished, he could easily destroy an entire country, right?”
“Did you change your address because your memory returned?”
Bai Luo noticed this.
Adolf K. Wiesmann: “Just fragmented memories, enough to use some part of the power.”
“Congratulations.”
Following Bai Luo’s congratulations, the group members followed suit.
Kurumi Tokisaki: “Congratulations +1.”
Misaka Mikoto: “Congratulations +2.”
Tanjiro: “Congratulations +3.”
“Thank you.”
Adolf landed on the rooftop of a tall building, gazing at the bustling city, unsure where to go next.
Due to Bai Luo’s intervention, Cat Girl didn’t alter Adolf’s memory, preventing him from entering Academy Island.
This significantly deviated the plot of K.
Bai Luo: “Are you planning to seek revenge now?”
“Ah, that guy shouldn’t be allowed to act recklessly anymore.”
Adolf understood Bai Luo’s implication. The Colorless King occupied his original body and was currently on the airship.
As the Silver King, Izumonosuke had the duty to eliminate him.
“If you need help, call me.”
“Me too.”
“And me.”
Not only Bai Luo, but Ace and Kurumi were also interested in the alternate world.
“I…”
Tanjiro: “If Mr. Izumonosuke doesn’t mind me…”
“Thank you all.”
Adolf certainly wouldn’t refuse. Watching the group members’ affirmations, this first Authority Holder who lived for over seventy years, his previously cold and lonely heart, unexpectedly warmed up.
“Lieutenant…”
He placed his hand on his chest and sighed, “It seems I’ve encountered people who can accept me again.”
