Chaos Maker: The Wanderer

Chapter 12: Struggle 2

A gateway is a means of transportation inside the multi-layer dimensional barrier. After defeating the Gate Boss and activating the gateway, you can pass through the layer and enter the next dimension.

Gateways have another function known as "Last." Last allows you to pass through all the layers instantly and reach the Old World. To activate this function, you must defeat at least one hundred Gate Bosses, each from a different dimension within the Barrier. Otherwise, it would be useless, and Last would never activate.

That's what John's doing at the moment.

After exchanging some casual punches, we distanced ourselves and got serious.

With a thought, I gathered all my magic into my heart and cast one of the absolute magic that briefly allowed me to step into the Forbidden Level for an indefinite time—"Dragon Core."

Dragon Core is magic similar to a nuclear reactor; it enhances your heart, transforming it into an Endless Magic Reactor that generates boundless energy, rivaling the Forbidden Level and beyond, it also continuously increases without upper limits, the longer you activate this magic the stronger it gets.

When normal magic power or mana collides with a denser magic power, the denser magic splits into countless, less-dense fragments, releasing additional magic power and expanding your reserves. This chain reaction continues, producing infinitely denser, higher-quality magic that can be used for casting spells or fueling an endless loop of exponential power increase. At that point, anything becomes possible.

I created this magic, and only I can use it. Many have tried to learn it, but they all failed—or were even killed by it. To master this magic, one must possess absolute control over their magic, boundless knowledge of magic, boundless metal processing, unwavering focus, and total control over both body and mind.

After casting Dragon Core, my magic entered the forbidden level, I fought that monstrosity, and our battle shook the endless void. If we weren't inside the void, this dimension would have been reduced to nothingness by the sheer pressure of our presence.

With each attack we exchanged, the void trembled. Every impact and explosion had the power to erase everything. I unleashed all the magic I could wield, while the Gate Boss countered each one with a simple punch, shattering them as if they were fragile paper.

Had those punches been thrown outside this void, everything would have ceased to exist. That is the true horror of a ??? Level Existence.

I cast countless spells, each capable of annihilating existence itself, yet this monstrosity effortlessly nullified them all with a single punch. We fought for a while—until it got bored and finally made its first move.

In an instant, the creature vanished. Then, I saw it—a fist drawing closer and closer. Behind it, an illusion of a humanoid figure loomed, throwing a punch. Compared to this being, I was nothing more than an ant—easily crushed.

Facing this terrifying strike, I couldn't help but smile. I once wielded this kind of power, but now, I could only tap into a fraction of it. However, it was enough.

In a low voice, I chanted:

"Turn everything into fantasy—Phantasma Break."

Outwardly, nothing seemed to happen. But upon deeper observation, something was off.

The punch surged forward, and John stood his ground, unflinching. However, just before impact, the Gate Boss suddenly froze—as if time itself had stopped for it. A moment later, its shadowy form began to crumble, dissolving into mist like an illusion.

Its hands disintegrated first, and then the decay spread up its chest, consuming its body until it vanished into nothingness.

Phantasma Break is a magic that turns all things into fantasy, making them exist only in the mind or imagination. There is no upper limit to what this magic can affect—not even the most powerful beings can withstand it. However, it has one weakness—its counterpart, "Phantasma Recontraction."

Phantasma Recontraction is the reverse of Phantasma Break. It transforms fantasy into reality, with no limit on what it can create or restore.

When these two magics clash at the same level, they cancel each other out, leaving neither victorious.

After defeating the Gate Boss, I sighed as I watched its shadowy figure dissipate. Its red, emotionless eyes met mine for a fleeting moment before vanishing entirely.

"I'm not strong enough to face you yet head-on, so I'll be doing this for now. After all, I still need to go there." I shrugged my shoulders, speaking my thoughts aloud.

The Gate Boss gave no response before fading into nothing.

As soon as it disappeared, a window interface appeared before me. It resembled the game interfaces from Earth.

Inside the interface, a message congratulated me for defeating the Gate Boss, informing me that I could now proceed to the next dimension.

A few seconds later, the window vanished. Then a space-time magic circle appeared beneath my feet, the magic circle released a blinding light and instantly teleported me away.

In the blink of an eye, I traveled a distance of ??? and arrived before the Gateway.

The Gateway was massive—it could accommodate the entire existence countless times over, yet still, it would not be filled.

As soon I arrive, another window interface appeared before me, asking whether I wanted to activate the Gateway.

Of course, I agreed.

The Gateway began to spin rapidly, humming to life with a deep, resonant vibration. Its rune-carved ring-shaped stone frame pulsed with eerie energy, while arcs of crackling, thunderous magic danced along its edges, converging at its center, where space itself rippled and distorted.

With a sudden, deafening pulse, the distortion collapsed inward, forming a swirling black vortex—darker than the void of space. Tendrils of inky shadow twisted and coiled around its edges, hungrily reaching out. The air grew heavy with an unnatural stillness, and a faint, whispering echo seeped from the abyss, beckoning those who dared to step through.

I observed the Gateway for a moment and remarked, "That looks dangerous, It matches the theme of the teleportation point."

As I spoke, my body began to glow, transforming into light before being pulled into the Gateway—leading me to the next dimension. My sight went dark and I lost consciousness.
