Chapter 1: The Start of Everything
2005
New York, USA
Queens
Omniscient POV
A young adult is sweating on a bed. Next to the bed, a bottle of pills lies toppled over, with only a few pills remaining around it.
The man lying on the bed slowly opens his eyes. He looks around, confused, with no clue where he is or how he got there.
Unknown POV
'Where am I? Nothing seems familiar about this room. Did I accidentally break into someone's home while I was drunk?'
Suddenly, I feel a rush of memories in my head that don't seem like mine, but somehow they feel familiar.
'Okay, if I understand these memories correctly, I am in a Marvel & DC crossover universe, based on the companies that exist here. This isn't the best start, but not the worst either. It seems this body is named Alex Walker. I have no living relatives because my parents died recently of natural causes. I was a late child since they were like grandparent age, but at least I have a huge inheritance in the form of money. It seems this body died from accidentally overdosing on painkillers, but I don't feel any craving for drugs, so maybe that's a bonus.'
I don't have any school to attend or a job, so I have no responsibilities. I also don't own any property other than this apartment. Speaking of the apartment in New York, I think I should sell it quickly before some super freak decides to destroy it for fun. Yes, that's what I'm going to do tomorrow.
Next Day
Alex's POV
It seems the technology of this world is more advanced than my world was back in 2000. But this helps a lot, especially when searching for a good real estate company that could sell my apartment and help me buy something like a house on the outskirts of New York. It seems like I have no cheats or anything, but it seems my soul has gotten stronger. I seem to have a better memory, faster thinking speed, even reflexes—everything about my cognitive abilities seems significantly enhanced. So, I should start learning something. Maybe I can be a C-level scientist character in the background if I can reach a decent level in any sort of field. First, biology is off the table because everything in Marvel's biological strengthening serums is connected to something mystical, and I don't want to be a puppet for anyone. That leaves chemistry, but most Marvel characters are immune to poisons and such, so that doesn't work either. All that's left is engineering, but that requires a lot of resources and can be tracked based on your orders. I have to think of a solution that solves this problem. Oh, I'm here at the real estate agency. Well, let's go in.
"Hello, how can I help you today?"
"Good morning, I want to sell my apartment, so I need help in that regard."
"Okay, I've called an agent to help you with everything."
"Okay, thank you."
A beautiful woman steps into the room and reaches out to shake my hand as she introduces herself.
"Hello, my name is Veronica."
"Hi, my name is Alex. I'm here to sell my apartment."
"We appreciate that you chose our agency to sell your apartment. Shall we discuss this in my office?"
"Okay, I have the necessary paperwork with me, so if you could tell your colleagues to start preparing your part of the paperwork while we chat about the price and the commission."
We walk into her office, and while we walk, she instructs one of the secretaries to prepare the paperwork for the sale.
"Okay, so can you tell me about your apartment?"
"Yes, it's a one-bedroom, one-bathroom apartment with a kitchen, living room, and wardrobe on the 5th floor in the center of Queens. I would like to sell it quickly, so I can go as low as 10% below the market price, but no lower. And here are the documents with all the information."
"Understood, Mr. Walker. We will do our best to find a buyer quickly at a satisfactory price. In fact, I think there's a company in your neighborhood that buys up apartments to rent them out later. If you can wait a few minutes, I'll find their number and ask if they're interested."
"Fine, I have time to wait. In the meantime, I'll take a look at your album of buildings for sale."
"That's perfect. Let me know if you see one that interests you."
I start looking through the album. I automatically skip all the estates in the center of New York. As I continue to look, I see a few that interest me, like a plot with a bunker from the Cold War—perfect for safety—or a junkyard on the outskirts of New York, almost next to the sea, a perfect place to get supplies for my engineering plans. If I can build something like a submarine or a boat, the sea is right there, making it perfect for a hidden base with a secret entrance from the water. I wait for five minutes, after which Veronica comes back with a smile on her face and says:
"They are interested in buying it, and they would like to buy it at the current market price in exchange for buying it before we advertise it to raise the price and increase competition."
"That's great. I will accept their offer, and you will get the standard fee for selling a property of this type."
"Wonderful. My secretary will be here with the paperwork in a few minutes. We just need a few signatures after you read the papers, and we're done. You have until Friday to move out of the apartment. So, are you interested in any of the properties we have for sale?"
"Yes, I am. I think I want to purchase the junkyard listed here." Suddenly, something in my soul moves. I can't feel what it is just yet, but I feel it's good for me, so I just let it happen.
[Magical Manor (Fate/Stay Night) (400CP)
An expected part of your inheritance, the old family home. This is a two-story redbrick home with lavish inner furnishings, all in a German style. The house seems to clean and take care of itself. Even if a whole room is trashed beyond repair, it will be in pristine condition by morning. As comfortable as the house is, its real draw is actually the basement hidden beneath the home. Completely undetectable without significant supernatural powers or actually blowing open the ground, this basement holds an extensive magical workshop filled with common and rare magical reagents and ingredients, both of which replenish over time. Numerous magical tools for crafting, enchantment, and a variety of other disciplines can also be found here, as well as a fair-sized but empty room for summoning. Magic cast here is undetectable to those outside the basement, though the basement itself is not indestructible in any way. If you blow the place up, people will notice.]

'YESSSSSS! Finally my cheat the most versatile tool i could ask for especially with my incrised mental abilities i could not only use these but combine even upgrade if i learned enough. Ok now I need to calm down and buy that junkyard that will be the perfect place for my projects i will have a huge wall build with a strong gate and if i can i will biuld something for the satelights as well preferably something similar to Wakanda.'
"Sir, sir are you okay?"
"Oh yes sorry just thinking about something i didnt mean to be disrispectful."
"No problem sir if you would read and sign these papers than we will send the correct amunt to your bank account if you write down in the contract, you can also choose other type of payment if you want."
"No if you transfer the money to my account its perfect for me. While i read and sign all these could you contact the owner of the junkyard about my intension to buy his property thank you."
"I will be right back sir after i asked him."
I looked over the papers, finding no problems. I signed them while thinking about the next step. The forge moves at random intervals with complete unpredictability, so I can't do anything to get more rolls—only hope for it. I should buy internet and a computer for my new property if I can acquire it. I should also prepare supplies for my seclusion so I won't have to leave my new base.
"I see you've finished the paperwork. Then we can proceed with the payment. I talked to the junkyard owner, and he said the property is still for sale at the original price. If you'd like to buy it, we can complete the paperwork now, and you can move in tomorrow."
After that, I completed all the paperwork and payments required to purchase the junkyard. It has a small house with a basement that was used as an office—it will be perfect for my needs. Once that was done, I went to a construction company to have them build a high and strong wall around the land I now own. I also phoned a moving company to be at my apartment tomorrow, ready to help me carry my things out to their trucks and drive me to my new junkyard, where they will help me move in.
Finally, at home, I started boxing up my things, but this body never had a lot of items, so I finished in just 1 hour and 30 minutes. One last look around, a quick shower, and I was ready to sleep after my first day here.
The Next Day
I woke up to a knock on the door. I rushed to dress and opened the door.
"Hello, are you the one that requested our moving services?"
"Yes, I was the one who called yesterday. Come in—I've already packed everything I could in boxes, so we only need to take them down to the truck."
"Okay. Boys, I've found the client. Come and help."
In the next two hours, we brought everything down to the truck. After that, I called the previous owner of the junkyard to wait for us at the entrance with the keys. Then I gave the address to the movers and got in my car to drive back to the real estate agency to return my keys. After all that, I arrived at the junkyard, where the truck was already there and the owner was talking with the movers. I quickly got out to get the keys.
After some pleasantries, I got the keys with an explanation of which key goes into which lock. Two hours later, after all the moving and useless chatting with the previous owner and the movers, I was finally alone in my new place. I looked around the yard—it has a lot of different junk here, meaning lots of materials for my future plans. I got ready for bed because tomorrow the construction workers will come to get the place ready for work, and I'll have to open the gates and let them in. After that, I'll wait for the guys from the internet company to set up my connection. Luckily, there was internet here before, so it will require less work and will be done in a day. Now it's time to rest.
The Next Day
I opened the gates for the construction workers and told them what I wanted and where. Since I had already paid the deposit, they quickly got to work. After lunch, the network installers also arrived. They worked quickly and left just after an hour. The workers also left in the evening. After I locked up everything, I got in the car to get a computer when, suddenly, the forge started to work again.

Scanner (50CP): The scanner uses the PDA artificial intelligence to analyze an object, often finding weaknesses or uses not immediately apparent to the user. If one of your fabricators is capable of constructing the scanned object, a blueprint is created. Scanning time varies with size and complexity.
Upgraded Scanner (50CP): For those who don't want to get too close to the Reaper Leviathan but still really want that scan, this upgrade quadruples the scanning distance and speed.
PDA (0CP): Loaded with an emergency intelligence and more data capacity than you could ever use, this is a survivor's second most powerful tool (after their brain). The AI may get a bit... quirky... over long deployments. Your version is basically indestructible and contains basic construction blueprints.]
