Haru was surprised. He'd intended this banquet to be a forum for the Servants to discuss their wishes, to determine who was most worthy of receiving the Grail. He'd asked them to state their desires for precisely that reason.

But it seemed the King of Conquerors was more interested in Haru's motivations for participating in the Holy Grail War. And the other Servants, intrigued by Rider's question, had followed suit.

Why would he, a being who'd ascended to Godhood, bother with such a trivial matter?

"The Third Magic will greatly aid me in my pursuit. Therefore, I seek the Root. That is my purpose in this war," Haru replied calmly. It wasn't a secret, so he saw no need to hide it.

"But aren't you omniscient?" Waver asked, his voice filled with confusion.

Thwack!

Rider flicked Waver on the forehead. "You idiot! Think! Have you never heard of the omnipotence paradox? True omniscience is impossible."

Waver clutched his head, his pride stinging more than the physical pain. To be lectured on knowledge—by a muscle-bound brute from antiquity... it was humiliating!

"Your pursuit? You've attained Godhood. What more could you possibly want? To become a new Counter Force? Or perhaps to reach the Root itself?" Gilgamesh asked, swirling the wine in her goblet, her legs crossed elegantly.

"I seek the Essence of life," Haru said, his grip on Saber tightening—so tight that even she realized what was happening.

She was sitting in his lap.

The realization sent her heart racing. Raised from birth to be a king, she'd never experienced such—intimacy.

Her face and ears flushed crimson.

She tried to pull away, to maintain her composure, her dignity. But his arms tightened around her, and her lips twitched. "W-why are you holding me so tight?! Just to explain the essence of life?…"

And that hardness—pressing against her—she bit her lip, forcing herself to remain silent.

"To me, there are three essential aspects of life." Ignoring Saber's discomfort, Haru nuzzled her cheek, his own face pressed against hers.

"Oh? So you're a philosopher, like my teacher, Aristotle? I'm intrigued. Please, enlighten me." Rider's voice was filled with genuine interest. Aristotle, his teacher and mentor, had instilled in him a deep respect for knowledge and wisdom. He leaned forward, eager to hear Haru's—philosophy.

"Evolution. Procreation. And the diversification of procreation," Haru said, raising a finger with each word.

Waver pulled out a notebook and pen. As a student of the Clock Tower, he always carried these tools. Rider, seeing this, snatched the pen and a few sheets of paper from Waver, preparing to take notes as well.

Their shared thirst for knowledge—it was a strong bond between Master and Servant.

Gilgamesh's expression was a mix of curiosity and apprehension. Haru's tone was serious, yet she had a feeling his words would be unconventional.

"Life's evolution is a continuous process of acquiring what it lacks—matter, rules, energy. It's a constant striving for growth, for advancement, for elevation. From human to God, and beyond. That is the path I walk."

"Interesting! Similar to my own philosophy of conquest and plunder!" Rider exclaimed, scribbling notes furiously.

"So, the Gods—they evolved from humans?" Waver murmured, his brow furrowed in thought.

"As for procreation—well, it's the act of exchanging genetic material with a desirable female," Haru explained, coughing slightly.

"Ha! I've surpassed even the Gods in that regard! I don't limit myself to women!" Rider said with a grin.

"...."

"And the diversification of procreation—well, it's exactly what it sounds like," Haru said, nuzzling Saber's cheek.

Hassan, who'd been quietly observing, her lips twitched. Hearing Haru's explanation—and seeing his actions with Saber, she had a feeling she knew where this was going.

"Exactly what it sounds like? Could you elaborate?" Rider asked, scratching his head, a puzzled look on his face.

"Procreating with just one woman doesn't diversify the gene pool. You need variety."

"So that's why you sleep with every woman you meet, Haru-sama?" Kiyohime glared at Haru, her voice laced with jealousy, black demonic energy swirling around her.

"Wait... so you're holding me—because…?" Saber's face burned crimson as the realization hit her.

"That's right, Artoria. I find you desirable. I'd like to share my genetic material with you."

Gilgamesh, covering her face with her hand, her lips twitching, muttered, "Just like Inanna—that insatiable Goddess…"

"…Are you sure you're Yahweh? You sound more like—my father, Zeus," Rider said, staring at Haru in disbelief, his pen hovering over his notes.

Waver nodded vigorously. Haru's obsession with self-improvement and his procreative philosophy were strikingly similar to those of Zeus, the King of the Gods, notorious for his extracurricular activities.

"Illyasviel! Help! I don't want his genetic material!" Saber's face burned as she felt Haru's—growing excitement.

"If it's Saber, I don't mind," Illyasviel said with a gentle smile.

"That's not what I asked!" Saber cried, her voice filled with panic.

"You just said you loved me! And now you're with this—fox!" Kiyohime's eyes narrowed, her voice laced with venom as she began to chant.

"I shall incinerate this liar! Samadhi Through Transforming Flames!!!*

"Serves you right," Gilgamesh said, watching Haru's frantic attempts to extinguish the flames, a smirk on her face.

Then, her expression changed, her voice a furious roar.

"TOKIOMII!!!"
