Chapter 131: Chapter 131: What's Your Opinion?
Today was the day of the Three Factions summit.
Kuoh Academy had declared a school holiday, ostensibly for some mundane reason.
Of course, the students, oblivious to the true purpose, celebrated their unexpected day off. They had no idea the school had been cleared for the momentous meeting between the leaders of the three factions.
As the appointed time approached, Kuoh Academy was gradually enveloped in a deep blue, spherical magic barrier. The sky, the ground, even the earth below—all encased within the protective sphere.
Within the barrier, the school grounds were heavily guarded. Devils, Angels, and Fallen Angels patrolled in small, organized units, creating a tense atmosphere.
Rias walked briskly down the corridor leading to the meeting room, a look of exasperation on her face as she glanced at Haru, strolling casually beside her.
That morning, when she'd gone to wake him, she'd found a certain Archangel, disheveled and teary-eyed.
"On the morning of such an important summit… truly, this man has no shame…" Rias sighed internally, offering a silent prayer for the unfortunate Archangel.
Maintaining a three-step lead, Rias briefed Haru on the meeting details.
"The summit will be held in the academy's conference room. Representing the three factions are Sirzechs Lucifer for the Devils, Archangel Michael for the Angels, and Governor General Azazel for the Fallen Angels. Sona and I will be attending as observers, along with Vali Lucifer."
As she spoke, Rias suddenly felt a hand grope her rear. Her face flushed crimson as she swatted it away.
"Keep your hands to yourself during the meeting, you pervert!"
"You woke me up too early," Haru replied with a mischievous grin, completely unfazed. "I need to… relieve some tension."
"What if I go into the meeting in a bad mood and accidentally start a war? Wouldn't that be your responsibility, Rias?" Haru's grin widened.
Rias glared at him, her face darkening. After a moment, she sighed in defeat, kneeling and unzipping his pants.
❁❁❁❁
The doors to the conference room swung open with a heavy clang.
A spacious room, dominated by a large, circular table crafted from polished, fragrant redwood, greeted Haru and Rias.
Four ornate chairs, each radiating an aura of ancient power and prestige, surrounded the table. Three were already occupied.
Sirzechs Lucifer, his crimson hair a stark contrast to his black armor, sat with a serious expression.
Azazel, his twelve dark wings spread behind him, lounged in his chair, a devil-may-care grin on his face.
And Michael, radiant in a pure white dress, a halo of holy light above her head, her golden wings shimmering—a vision of angelic beauty.
Azazel stared at Michael, his jaw slack, completely ignoring Haru's arrival.
From the moment the faction leaders entered, he'd been stunned. Who was this breathtaking beauty? Twelve wings? But she didn't look like Gabriel…
"To think Heaven had such a stunning Archangel… Why did I even bother falling for the sake of carnal desires? I could have stayed in Heaven, surrounded by beautiful Angels, living a life of blissful debauchery!"
A sudden realization struck him. His voice, tinged with mock sorrow, echoed through the room.
"Michael, you sly fox! You've been hiding your true form all along! I was completely fooled by that… pretty boy facade."
Michael's expression darkened. As an old adversary, she knew exactly what Azazel, the man who betrayed Heaven for the sake of women, was thinking.
She raised her hand, holy light coalescing in her palm, forming a spear of pure energy. The tip of the spear pointed directly at Azazel's head, her voice ice-cold. "Do you want to start a war, Azazel?"
Sirzechs, watching the escalating tension, sighed and gestured towards Haru, who stood by the door. "Perhaps we should begin, now that everyone has arrived. Please, calm yourselves."
Michael, her face still dark, slowly dissipated the spear of light and let out a hmph.
Azazel grinned, unfazed.
"Well, now…" Haru, observing the tense atmosphere, walked towards the empty chair beside Michael. To her surprise, he lifted her into his arms and sat down, settling her on his lap.
Michael's body stiffened, but she didn't resist, allowing herself to be held.
Rias, her face flushed, hurried to stand behind Sirzechs, joining a bewildered Sona.
Sirzechs rapped his knuckles on the table, his voice firm. "Let's set aside these… personal matters for now and begin the Three Factions summit."
The room's atmosphere shifted, everyone's expressions turning serious.
"Why don't we just sign a peace treaty right here?" Azazel asked casually.
His words sent shockwaves through the room—all except Haru, who remained calm.
He knew this was coming. From the original storyline, Haru understood that Azazel, deeply affected by the horrors of the ancient war, had become a staunch pacifist, though he rarely revealed this side of himself.
For the others, however, Azazel's suggestion was utterly unexpected. The leader of the Fallen Angels, a group known for its recklessness and warmongering tendencies, proposing a peace treaty? It was almost unbelievable.
A peace treaty…
Would the Devils even agree? God had returned, and it was only a matter of time before the Angels and Fallen Angels regained their former power. The Devils, on the other hand, still struggled with their dwindling numbers.
If the current situation continued, the Devils would be at a severe disadvantage. That was why they were preparing for war, hoping to secure their position before it was too late.
But… there was one person present who could act as a mediator, a force capable of preventing all-out war.
Azazel and Sirzechs's gazes turned towards Haru.
Haru's eyes narrowed, his expression serious. Under the weight of their gazes, he finally spoke.
