BTTH : I am Thunder Emperor

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Selling Xuan-Class Dou Techniques

Three days later, in the center of Wu Tan City, at the Mite-er Auction House.

The Mite-er Auction House was the largest auction venue in Wu Tan City and belonged to one of the wealthiest families in the Jia Ma Empire, the Mite-er Clan.

In the Jia Ma Empire, when it came to wealth, the Mite-er Clan was unquestionably at the top. With a long history stretching back centuries, the Mite-er Clan had deep and complex connections across the empire. Alongside the Nalan and Yinte-er Clans, the Mite-er Clan was one of the "Three Giants" of the Jia Ma Empire.

With such a powerful family backing it, no one dared to covet the auction house's profits, no matter how tempting.

After breaking through to Dou Zhi Qi 9th Stage, Mo Yu had secluded himself in cultivation for a few more days before finally leaving his clan to attend the auction being held at the Mite-er Auction House.

Though most of his memories of the original story had faded, Mo Yu still vaguely remembered Ya Fei's beauty. While he wasn't particularly interested in women at the moment, seeing the famously fiery and alluring goddess who captured the hearts of many men would at least be a small reward for his recent hard work.

As he approached the grand auction venue at the end of the street, Mo Yu ducked into a secluded alley. He quickly donned a black cloak he had prepared earlier. The oversized cloak not only concealed his face but also bulked up his thin frame, making it hard for anyone—even his own grandfather, Steward Mo—to recognize him at first glance.

Satisfied with his disguise, Mo Yu patted the black Dou Technique scroll he had prepared in his pouch. In order to gather sufficient funds for his purchases, he had decided to auction off a Xuan-Class low-level Dou Technique.

This Dou Technique was a movement technique he had mastered in his previous life. It was of decent value, and he had transcribed it onto a scroll over the past three days.

The reason he hadn't revealed it earlier was that transcribing a Dou Technique onto a scroll was a mentally and physically taxing process. Even with Mo Yu being one step away from becoming a Dou Zhe, it had still taken him three days to complete. A few months ago, it would have taken him much longer.

Touching the scroll in his pouch, Mo Yu understood that to avoid unnecessary trouble, he needed to keep his identity hidden. While the Thunder Fire Bead he had previously auctioned wasn't particularly valuable, a Xuan-Class Dou Technique was a rare treasure, especially in a place like Wu Tan City.

After finalizing his disguise, Mo Yu calmly walked out of the alley and headed toward the auction house at the end of the street.

The Mite-er Auction House's layout was similar to that of the Lorlin Weapon Auction House he had previously visited. Upon entering, the cool air reminiscent of air conditioning from his past life greeted him, instantly refreshing his senses.

Scanning the luxurious and spacious hall, Mo Yu headed toward a side room marked with the glittering words "Treasure Appraisal Room."

Pushing open the door, he found the room relatively empty, with only a middle-aged man sitting idly at a table. Hearing the door open, the man looked up, his eyes narrowing slightly at the sight of the cloaked figure. However, his professional smile quickly appeared.

"Good day, sir. Are you here for an appraisal?" the man asked politely.

"Yes," came a dry, middle-aged voice from beneath the cloak. Mo Yu had altered his voice, recalling how some people in his first life could even mimic a loli voice. This level of disguise was second nature to him.

Mo Yu took a few steps forward and casually placed the black scroll from his pouch onto the table.

"And this is...?" The middle-aged man blinked, picked up the black scroll casually, and ran his hand over its rough texture. His expression dimmed slightly, and a trace of disdain flashed in his eyes as he glanced back at Mo Yu. "Sir, are you here to sell a Dou Technique?"

Mo Yu had used an ordinary scroll to transcribe the technique, hoping for convenience, but clearly, the appraiser had misunderstood its value. High-tier Dou Techniques were often recorded on superior materials, and his rough scroll seemed unremarkable in comparison.

"What kind of Dou Technique is this? What's its function?" the appraiser asked dismissively, not even bothering to open the scroll.

"A Xuan-Class low-level Dou Technique: Nine Flashes of the Wandering Dragon. It enhances the user's speed and agility. You're professionals here at the Mite-er Auction House, so I'm sure you're well aware of its value," Mo Yu replied calmly, showing no concern for the appraiser's earlier disdain.

"A movement technique?" The appraiser's expression instantly changed.

He hadn't expected that what appeared to be a simple Dou Technique was actually a rare Xuan-Class movement technique. Xuan-Class low-level Dou Techniques were valuable, but for the appraiser, who worked at the prestigious Mite-er Auction House, they weren't particularly surprising. However, a Xuan-Class movement technique was a different story.

Movement techniques were always in short supply. A low-level Xuan-Class one would be comparable in value to some mid-level Xuan-Class Dou Techniques.

His interest piqued, the appraiser quickly unrolled the scroll and spent half a quarter of an hour examining it carefully. After a thorough inspection, the appraiser finally confirmed that it was indeed a rare Xuan-Class low-level movement technique.

His expression brightened with excitement. "Sir, are you looking to auction this Dou Technique?"

"Yes, I heard there's an auction today. I'd like this technique to be included," Mo Yu replied.

"Heh, you've got good timing, sir. No problem! We'll include your Dou Technique in today's auction. Please, take this and head to Auction Room One. The auction is already underway, and your technique will be up soon," the appraiser said, handing Mo Yu a black iron plaque.

Mo Yu took the plaque, nodded, and turned to leave. Just as he was stepping out, another figure, also clad in a black cloak, entered the room.

Mo Yu paused briefly, as if something had crossed his mind, and a knowing smile appeared on his lips before he left.

At the same time, the other cloaked figure also noticed Mo Yu's attire and hesitated for a moment. Watching Mo Yu's departing figure, a sense of familiarity flickered in the man's mind.

The appraiser scratched his head in confusion. Two mysterious cloaked figures in one day? Was this some new trend? Shaking off the thought, he focused on welcoming his next guest.
