With the situation calmed and the immediate conflict defused, Princess Serena took charge of the moment. She made a decision to send away the girls who had accompanied Ruth in this confrontation, creating an atmosphere of peace and order within the hall.
Once the immediate tension had subsided, Serena approached Ruth, her expression reflecting a sense of concern and disappointment. She addressed Ruth in a softer tone, expressing her sentiments.
"I asked you to handle him peacefully, why did you enrage him?" Serena muttered, her words laden with a mix of understanding and disappointment. Serena priority was to ensure that incident could be resolved without unnecessary escalation.
"What can I do? Who asked him to call me an aunty?" Ruth's retort came swiftly, her tone laced with frustration as she protested. Her voice carried the weight of her exasperation, and her eyes flashed with defiance. She clearly had no intention of being belittled.
Serena, upon hearing Ruth's complaint, felt a headache. The situation had been tense enough, and she didn't need this added complication. She sighed inwardly, her thoughts racing as she tried to find a way to navigate the delicate balance of the moment.
"It's okay," Serena said with a calming tone, her expression resolute yet conciliatory.
"Let me handle the situation. You keep calm. Don't enrage this self-centred guy," she advised, her words a plea for cooperation. She understood the importance of maintaining peace and avoiding further confrontation.
As Serena turned her attention toward Luis, she couldn't help but notice his intense and unrelenting stare fixed upon her. His gaze bore into her with a sense of arrogance and entitlement, making it clear that he considered himself a figure of authority.
The intensity of Luis's gaze was unsettling, and it left Serena feeling as though she were under scrutiny, not as an object of affection but as a target of his lust. Despite the recent chaos, his focus was now singularly directed at her, and the atmosphere in the grand hall remained tense.
Serena, determined to maintain her composure in the face of Luis's unsettling stares, chose to ignore his lecherous gaze. She walked confidently to the centre of the hall, where an elegant sofa awaited, and seated herself with grace and poise. Despite the circumstances, she exuded an air of regal confidence.
Luis's unwavering and lustful stares continued to linger on Serena, his demeanour showing no signs of restraint. He appeared entranced by her presence, his focus locked onto her with an unsettling intensity.
With a calm and collected tone, Serena addressed Luis, her words carrying an air of politeness that contrasted with the tension in the room.
"See, mister, we really don't know your identity and how powerful you are," she began, her voice carrying a diplomatic tone. "Das went on a trip. He will come back tomorrow. So, please come back tomorrow if you have any business with Das."
Serena's response was both poised and firm, a subtle reminder that they were on her turf, and she held the authority in this situation. Her avoidance of direct eye contact with Luis conveyed a message of indifference to his attempts to intimidate her.
Luis's laughter echoed through the hall as he continued to gaze at Serena with an unsettling intensity. "Hahaha... Nice. Really nice," he remarked, his voice dripping with a mix of amusement and desire. "I really liked the way you speak."
Serena maintained her composure, her response measured and diplomatic. "I appreciate your compliment," she replied, choosing her words carefully.
Luis, undeterred by her poised response, leaned in closer, his intentions clear as he continued, "Listen, beauty, I actually came for Das. But now, I don't care about his presence." His words were laced with lustful stares as he allowed his gaze to roam from the top to the bottom of Serena's figure, revealing his unmistakable interest.
Serena, maintaining her calm and composed demeanour, responded to Luis's suggestive remarks. "Then you can leave now. I will inform Das about your arrival," she said calmly, her tone conveying a sense of firmness.
Luis, seemingly unfazed by Serena's response, adopted a gentlemanly tone as he protested, "What? No... How could you send away the guest without offering a cup of coffee." He then settled leisurely onto the sofa opposite Serena.
Serena, despite her frustration, gave a subtle look to Sana, indicating that coffee should be brought to the table.
Luis, persistent in his pursuit, attempted to engage Serena in conversation while maintaining his outward charm.
"Beauty, I'm really wondering why a beautiful woman like you is staying in this tattered building," he mused aloud, his voice dripping with a veneer of curiosity. "Can you tell me your origin? If you want, I can take you with me. You might not know, I'm a wealthy person. I can even buy this entire city for you."
His words were delivered with a persuasive tone, an attempt to woo Serena into his favour. He acted like a benefactor, offering the promise of a better life while refusing to be deterred by Serena's initial reluctance.
Serena, on the other hand, maintained her composure, ready to refute his questions and navigate the situation with diplomacy.
Serena, not swayed by Luis's compliments, dismissed his advances with a polite but firm tone.
"Stop joking, mister. A wealthy person like you already has many beautiful women with you," she responded, maintaining her regal composure.
Luis, however, was undeterred and continued his pursuit. He spoke directly, his intentions clear.
"Nah... Don't put it like that. All those girls won't even equal to your toenail. Your beauty is ethereal, and you are the most beautiful girl out of all the women I've seen in miles," he declared, his words laced with a mix of flattery and desire. "Tell me what should I do to make you mine. Tell me what you need.
I will give you whatever you want."
Serena, remaining resolute, responded to Luis's continued advances. "Hmmhh... Stop flattering me, mister," she began, her tone unwavering. "I'm just a servant in this house. My life belongs to Das. If you really want me, come tomorrow.
If Das orders me to go with you, I won't say no."
Luis was taken aback by her response. He couldn't comprehend what he had just heard. The woman he had initially perceived as the most beautiful in the world was merely a servant, dedicated to another.
He was unable to digest the fact that he, a young master of rich hidden family, the Aries family, one of the wealthiest in the world, didn't possess the type of luxury that seemed to be a part of Das's life.
The revelation added a layer of complexity to their interaction, leaving Luis both intrigued and perplexed.
As Luis found himself in a perplexed state, Ruth, who stood a short distance away from them, couldn't contain her amusement and burst into merry laughter. Luis felt a headache after hearing her laughter.
"Hey, old lady, why are you laughing at me?" Luis shouted, his irritation evident as Ruth openly mocked him.
With a mischievous smile, Ruth replied, "Tomorrow you will know why I laughed. Until then, enjoy your good time." Ruth tried to control her laughter as Serena is looking at her warningly.
Luis remained baffled by Ruth's cryptic words, unable to discern their meaning. Frustrated with Ruth and the situation, he cursed her inwardly, turned his attention back to Serena, attempting to persuade her to leave with him.
Luis, undeterred by the complexities of the situation, persisted in his efforts to woo Serena. "See, beauty. You really aren't understanding my background," he asserted confidently. "Das is just a minor character in comparison to me. There are numerous individuals like Das working under me all over the world."
"This is a golden opportunity for you. Come with me, and I will make you a wealthy queen."
He inched his chair closer to Serena, his charm offensive in full swing. Meanwhile, Baku, who stood behind Serena, couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy. He pondered how different life might have been if he were born as a beautiful woman.
Unaware of Serena's true background, he assumed Serena is a dumb girl who is simply rejecting Luis's offer without recognising its potential.
Intrigued by Luis's persistent and mischievous behaviour, Ruth took a step forward, intent on intervening to prevent Luis from getting any closer to Serena. However, Baku, who was closely observing the situation, prevented her from interrupting Luis's advances. Ruth hesitated, but she remained still as Serena signalled her to stay calm for the moment.
Luis, undeterred by the subtle tensions in the room, continued to lay on the flattery thick. "Tell me, beauty," he said, his voice laced with charm, "will you come with me? If you don't believe me, I can even shower this palace with banknotes to prove my sincerity. Please, hold my hand, and I will show you the world bathed in a new light."
As Luis moved closer to Serena, inch by inch, the atmosphere in the hall grew increasingly tense. The characters in this intriguing drama found themselves entangled in a web of desires and intrigue.
Just as Luis reached dangerously close to Serena, extending his hand toward her, a tense hush descended upon the room. Suddenly, a swift and silent movement disrupted the scene. Read chapters at My Virtual Library Empire
"Shhhh…."
A dagger materialised in the narrow space between Luis and Serena, embedding itself firmly into the coffee table.
