Chapter 240
“We’ve cast detection and distortion magic on the entire island to ensure that anyone approaching will be noticed and to conceal our presence on the island. The range is up to 150 meters from the coastline.”
“To cast detection and distortion magic on such a large scale, you would have needed a high-ranking wizard. How did you convince them?”
On our way to the island, we received an explanation about the infrastructure.
All the maids, except for Nika and Beatrice, were directly dispatched from the Imperial Palace, and even the ingredients for the meals were provided by the Palace. It was clear who was behind all this.
The most impressive part was the detection and distortion magic that covered the entire island and extended 150 meters beyond the coastline.
Even though the island wasn’t that big, it was still an island. To cast magic on such a scale, they would have needed someone from the Mage Association, but how did they convince those wizards with just money?
“When they heard that it was for the Crate family, they all wanted to do it, and it was harder to choose who to bring. In the end, Grand Mage Valeria herself helped us.”
“Ah…” I realized that it probably wasn’t that hard to convince them.
“We’ve arrived. First, we’ll show you to your accommodations, so please follow us.”
This time, instead of using a dimensional portal to create the right atmosphere, we took a boat to the island, and we were greeted by a view that rivaled the beach we had seen earlier.
Perhaps because the island was relatively small, it felt more enclosed, giving it a cozy ambiance. They said that it would take about 30 minutes to walk from one end of the island to the other.
The mansion we were staying in was not far from the beach. In terms of physical distance, it was close enough to offer an unobstructed ocean view, just like those advertised at beachfront accommodations on Earth.
“There are more than enough rooms, so please feel free to choose whichever you prefer.”
The mansion had four floors, and each room was as spacious as the living room of my parents’ house on Earth. Without exaggeration, the bed was big enough for all of us to sleep in one room. Of course, I didn’t say that out loud, as it would have caused an uproar.
“The rooms are quite spacious. I like them.”
“Yeah, the bed is big too. We can all sleep in the same—”
“Do you think that’s possible?”
Priscilla, who had been about to unpack her things in my room, was dragged away by the scruff of her neck.
As she was pulled away, she looked back at me with hopeful eyes, but some things just couldn’t be allowed. If I let her sleep in the same bed as me on a day like this, it wouldn’t be long before everyone else wanted to sleep in my bed too.
To prevent any arguments, I had intentionally chosen a different floor, but it wouldn’t make sense if one of us ended up sharing a room.
“The weather is nice.”
After changing into our swimsuits, we headed downstairs, and the view that greeted us was just as impressive as when we had come through the gate.
The sky was clear without a cloud in sight, the sun shone brightly, the sand sparkled like gold, and the sea shimmered with emerald hues.
“So, we’ll be staying here for six days and seven nights?”
Latina approached us as we set up our parasols. She was wearing a bikini on the bottom and a rash guard on the top, covering all her skin. On top of that, she had a white windbreaker.
The only exposed skin was her hips and thighs below the rash guard. Compared to the others, she was quite conservatively dressed. I knew the reason for her choice of attire, so I quietly smiled at her.
“If you get bored, we can always take a trip to the city. That’s what the dimensional portal is for, right?”
With the dimensional portal connecting our accommodations to the other students’ lodgings, it was easy to travel to the nearby city. There was no need to spend all our time at the beach.
“By six days and seven nights, I meant that we could stay even longer if we wanted. And, we prefer to have fun just among ourselves.”
Latina’s gray eyes turned to the four possessors and the former protagonist of this world, who were already playing boisterously. Leona and Elysier were about to throw Rosalia into the sea.
Rosalia’s limbs were grabbed, and despite her struggles, she was swung like a pendulum before being tossed into the sea.
“Wah…”
“It’s terrifying. They show no mercy.”
Rosalia was thrown into the air, reaching a height of almost 10 meters before falling back down, creating a large splash.
Laura, who had been watching with a smile, was the next target. “What are you doing?!’ Her voice carried over to where we were standing. Soon after, another large splash rose from the sea.
Priscilla, who was likely to be the next target, tried to escape, but it was futile against Leona and Elysier’s strong grip.
Boom! Her body was launched into the air, reaching an even greater height than Rosalia and Laura before her, and creating an even bigger splash as she fell back down.
“You have done well.”
“Good job.”
Leona and Elysier high-fived each other. It was hard to imagine that they were once destined to fight each other as the hero and the demon lord until one of them died.
“You look very pleased, Mira.”
“Can you tell?”
Latina poked my cheeks as I smiled at her.
“Yes, very much so. Are you happy?”
“Because I know what you all went through. Here, and back on Earth.”
When I first met them, they would never have been able to make such expressions while playing.
Although Priscilla had spun 360 degrees to restore herself, and Laura had been pieced back together like a patchwork quilt, giving her an outwardly intact appearance… Time would heal those wounds.
“Are you alright, Mira?”
“Yeah, of course. Because you guys are here.”
“…”
At my unwavering response, Latina stopped poking my cheeks and paused, her face reddening.
“It’s unfair to say that at this timing. It’s cheating.”
“What’s unfair about stating a fact? Besides, who cares?”
If I had been alone, I wouldn’t have been able to use the Holy Spear at all, and I would still be struggling with my trauma.
The fact that I had realized this because of Elysier’s abnormal sexual desire was a minor flaw, but who cared about that?
“Mira! Come help us! Let’s throw them too!”
“This violent woman…! Why are you so strong?!”
In the distance, I could hear Rosalia’s voice, and next to her was Laura, both of them soaked from head to toe as they playfully struggled with Elysier.
Priscilla was also chasing after Leona, her entire body drenched, but thanks to her status as a hero, there was no sign of her catching up.
It was a relief that they were all wearing regular bikinis. If they had been wearing the slingshot or micro bikinis they had on earlier, the scene would have been more suited to an erotic game than a pleasant sight.
‘…Is this even normal?’
If we were on Earth, their attire would have drawn all kinds of attention, but the impact of their previous outfits had blurred my sense of what was considered normal.
“Wouldn’t it be more fun to throw her again than to throw someone new?”
“What nonsense are you spouting?! Mira! Ignore whatever she says!”
“Hey, if I help you throw Elysier, will you let me off the hook?”
“You traitor…”
The beach was bustling with activity. It seemed like it was time for me to join in. I got up and glanced at the mansion.
“Are they still not coming out? I’ve been waiting for them.”
Nika, Beatrice, and Karna were still nowhere to be seen.
“Either they have something else to take care of, or Beatrice and Karna are struggling to put on their swimsuits. By the way, what about Erestika?”
“She’ll join us later. She has to finish up some work first, since she’s the principal.”
Erestika’s arrival would be slightly delayed, as she had to take care of some last-minute work. After all, it was only the first day of the six-day, seven-night trip, and she had promised to arrive before evening.
“Alright. I’ll let them know when the three of them arrive. You can go ahead without me.”
“It feels a bit awkward to wait alone. Do you want to come with me?”
“I won’t refuse.”
Latina got up as if she had been waiting for my invitation. It seemed like I had made the right choice. I smiled awkwardly and reached for the zipper of my rash guard.
As I took off the top, the gazes of those who had been bickering in the distance focused on me.
-Wow… even though we saw it before, seeing it again…
-You’re an outrageous pervert.
-Ha. Who are you to talk? You can’t take your eyes off him either.
-Did Priscilla get to see him alone?
-It’s infuriating. Let’s throw her again.
-Then it’s settled.
“You can all hear me, right?”
The only ones who hadn’t participated in the conversation were Priscilla, who had just emerged from the sea with wet hair and stood frozen in place, and Leona, who was stealing glances at me.
They hadn’t chosen not to participate, but rather, they couldn’t.
“Hey, you guys picked these for me. Why are you reacting like this?”
In fact, what I was wearing was a bit ambiguous as a swimsuit. It was more like a pair of roomy summer shorts that reached my knees.
If they had chosen a triangular brief, I would have refused outright, but I was surprised that they had chosen something relatively normal.
“It’s different here than in the store. This is the beach.”
“I don’t see the difference… and you’re all incredibly pretty, you know.”
“Hey, if you really mean it, prove it with your body, not just your words.”
“If I do that, it’ll be big trouble, won’t it?”
For a moment, their gazes shifted to my lower body, then quickly moved back up. I hadn’t intended for it to be taken that way, but I realized that such intentions would never be realized here.
“You’re right. How about we make some big trouble, then?”
Rosalia slyly tried to pull down the strap of her bikini top. Before she could do so, I quickly pulled her close to me. Her wet, smooth skin clung to mine.
“Huh? Wait, Mira? Are you going to take me behind that rock… Ugh?!’
Without hesitation, I threw her into the sea.
Rosalia flew several dozen meters and landed in the middle of the sea. Thanks to the underwater breathing magic I had cast, she would be fine. Her wet silver hair emerged from the water.
“Hey! Why did you throw me so far?!”
As they stood there dumbfounded, I found my next victim—Elysier. Her limbs, which were more muscular, long, and sturdy than Rosalia’s, writhed in my arms.
“Didn’t you just offer to help me throw everyone?”
“Th, that’s right… Mira! Wait, what are you—Uwaak?!”
Elysier soared even higher than Rosalia, her tall and slender figure plummeting into the sea. A column of white water rose from the impact.
Finally, they seemed to realize what was happening, and they cautiously backed away from me.
“I’ll give a reward to whoever will be able to throw me. How about it?”
“What kind of reward?”
“You’ll find out when you get it… No, I’ll grant you one wish, anything at all.”
“Oh ho, did you just say anything at all?”
Laura’s eyes sparkled with excitement. Priscilla cautiously asked, “Ho, could it be… something naughty?”
“Hmm… I guess it’s fine.”
“Really?”
“You won’t be able to catch me anyway.”
The three of them were filled with competitive spirit, their faces eager for the challenge.
