chapter 55
55. Priest Atuk 2
“Still going!”
Gororororoo Bari ririri!
Rainer gathers lightning in his fist.
And then releases the accumulated lightning.
Pachii
“〈Thunder Strike〉”
It seemed as if the lightning pierced Atsuku.
“Ugh! You! You’ve gotten stronger than before!”
The priest’s robe had burned away, revealing the ritual garments underneath.
“Ugh, old man… It’s gross seeing you in those tights and leather armor at your age.”
“Watch your mouth!”
The heat surrounding Atsuku rises even further.
Juuu
As a result, the decorative armor placed nearby begins to melt.
“Your lightning itself doesn’t affect me. So, let’s see how long you can withstand my wrath with those little magical trinkets of yours.”
“You’re a creepy old man, really. I don’t want to end up like that when I get older.”
“You!”
Atsuku, fueled by anger, charges forward.
The intense heat scorches the ground beneath him.
“Ughhh!”
He swings a blow infused with high temperature.
Gashii!
“It seems the old man’s heat can’t even reach my fingertips.”
Rainer’s gloved left hand completely absorbs the attack.
“No matter how much you try to bolster yourself with divine inspiration, you’re still weakening.”
“Ughhh!”
He tries to raise the temperature further in his fury.
“Shut up.”
Rainer’s right hand delivers a palm strike to his abdomen.
“Guh, ha ha…”
—
Kneeling, Atsuku glares resentfully at Rainel.
“Have you finally given up? Old man?”
As Rainel looks down with a smirk, Atsuku’s anger intensifies.
Sensing danger, Rainel transforms his legs into lightning and creates distance.
“You b*stard! Watch your mouth!!!”
Atsuku’s body glows orange with surging rage.
“Ugh, this is really annoying.”
Rainel scratches his head and sighs.
“I’m so done with this; I’m going to kill you.”
The narrowed eyes of Rainel reveal a deep-seated intent to kill.
But Atsuku was not one to cower.
“Your attitude infuriates me to no end!!”
The orange hue begins to take on a whitish tint.
Then Rainel pulls a tube from his pocket.
Lightning spills forth from his hand.
The tube absorbs the lightning as if charging it.
“What are you doing, you fool?!”
Atsuku, stepping over the unstable ground softened by the heat, finds it impossible to catch up to the distancing Rainel.
“What am I doing? It’s simple—it’s a tool of civilization.”
Holding the tube, now fully charged with lightning, he takes aim at Atsuku.
“I hear it’s called an electromagnetic railgun.”
The shot is fired.
Boom!
“Guh!”
Atsuku is pierced through the abdomen.
He kneels, gasping for breath.
“Ha! This is exhausting! But if I can take you down in one shot, that’s enough! I have to be grateful to the Great Sage!”
Though fatigue is evident on Rainel’s face, he wears a satisfied grin.

In stark contrast, Aztuk’s face twisted with rage
No longer resembling a priest, but a devilish visage
“I’ve pierced your insides; you won’t last long now,
So enjoy your remaining days!”
Lainel laughed heartily as he turned his back and moved away
But
“〈O Proxy, heal me〉”
At that line from the scripture, Lainel turned back, but it was too late
A dazzling light pouring from the milky-white space enveloped Aztuk
“Damn it! Is this the work of the saint? What a troublesome trick!”
Lainel accelerated, aiming to strike Aztuk with the same palm strike, but instinctively stopped and dodged
Vwooonn
“You dodged, huh?”
Aztuk calmly spat out his words, irritation evident
“Hey, what the hell is that…?”
Lainel trembled at the sight of Aztuk’s hand
“This is where I’ve gathered all my anger into my right hand”
His right hand shone white with an intense heat
Moreover, that hand was imbued with plasma
“What kind of principle is this?”
Lainel tried to maintain his composure, but cold sweat poured down
“Oh, it’s simple; it was born from your electricity and my heat”
“With this hand, I could kill you with a mere stroke”
Aztuk stated a fact, not a boast
“Go ahead and try, you old b*stard!”
The conclusion is near
