Ryu Jiho watched as Cheolsu, oblivious to the situation, charged towards Director Choi Mujin. He wondered whether he should greet Director Choi Mujin and acknowledge him or just throw Cheolsu at him and make a run for it. Meanwhile, Cheolsu was quickly closing in on Director Choi Mujin.
“Hey, you fucker.”
Seeing Cheolsu staggering towards him, the employees quickly stepped aside. This included Sion, who had been glaring at Haseo until then.
“You!”
As Cheolsu approached, he picked up a nearby wine bottle. But Director Choi Mujin, who had been keeping his head down, suddenly stood up, and Cheolsu’s grip on the bottle loosened. It wasn’t just because Director Choi Mujin was bigger. Cheolsu had encountered many people in his reckless life and had even beaten up guys bigger than him.
‘But this guy is different!’
The man, whose exposed skin was entirely black, exuded an intimidating aura that made one shrink back just by looking at him. Realizing this, Cheolsu awkwardly stepped back.
“Didn’t you have something to say?”
Even though Director Choi Mujin was speaking politely, the dangerous aura did not disappear. Cheolsu desperately shook his head and said,
“No, no, it’s nothing.”
Pyo Sera, who had been peeking through the open door, saw this and smiled softly.
“Our guest is quite perceptive.”
Only then did Cheolsu notice that Pyo Sera was also there. Knowing the influence she held as the illegitimate child of a businessman, Cheolsu took another step back and quietly sat back down on the sofa.
“What a crazy bastard.”
Ryu Jiho finally stepped forward. He hit Cheolsu and stood up in front of Director Choi Mujin.
“You know me, right?”
“I know you.”
Director Choi Mujin replied with a smirk.
“Since it’s going to get complicated anyway, let’s just move on.”
Although Ryu Jiho was speaking calmly, he was actually quite tense. Director Choi Mujin’s reputation was formidable. The only reason Ryu Jiho could act this way was because he believed Director Choi Mujin wouldn’t dare touch him lightly.
Instead of responding to Ryu Jiho’s words, Director Choi Mujin grabbed Haseo, who had been lying on the floor, and pulled him up.
“Just this once.”
Only then did Ryu Jiho relax his body. Pyo Sera intervened,
“Director-nim, since you’ve retrieved your puppy, shall I show you to your room?”
To Pyo Sera’s question, Director Choi Mujin replied,
“Please do.”
Haseo was dragged out of the room by Director Choi Mujin, and the open door closed. Only then did Cheolsu let out a sigh he had been holding in.
“What just happened?”
Mumbling to himself, he slumped back onto the sofa, and the employees returned to their original positions. Everyone seemed to be trying to maintain their composure, but Sion couldn’t.
‘Why is Director-nim taking him?’
Sion had always been the one to enter Director Choi Mujin’s room whenever he visited the club. Seeing the two leave, Ryu Jiho clapped his hands and said,
“Since it turned out this way, let’s have fun among ourselves.”
He smiled foolishly, looking different from before. But Cheolsu, who knew his friend well, shivered slightly. Ryu Jiho hated being ignored by anyone, even if it was someone he couldn’t easily mess with.
He couldn’t do anything about it now, but if he got the chance, he wouldn’t let it go. Cheolsu’s guess wasn’t far off.
‘That bastard always laughs at me.’
Thinking this, he looked around the room and saw Sion. He knew Sion was an employee that Director Choi Mujin always took with him, but this time he left him behind. Come to think of it, the guy on the floor looked more like Director Choi Mujin’s type than Sion. Originally, Director Choi Mujin didn’t care about appearances, but at some point, he started preferring guys who looked like idols.
“Hmm.”
Ryu Jiho grinned, thinking this might be useful later. He decided to gather information about that guy from earlier.
Director Choi Mujin walked with his arm around Haseo’s shoulder. Just that was enough to make Haseo’s heart race with an inexplicable fear. His mind started to clear a bit after passing a few closed doors.
‘Did I do something wrong?’
He racked his brain but couldn’t think of anything. He had been doing his household chores diligently as Director Choi Mujin instructed. There was no rule against working elsewhere after work, so he couldn’t understand why this situation was happening. He really had no idea why Director Choi Mujin was acting this way. Haseo rolled his eyes, desperately trying to understand the situation.
“Here it is.”
The owner, who had been leading the way, opened the door to a room at the end of the hallway. Inside, there were already a few employees who all looked similar.
They had bright hair, handsome faces, and slender bodies. At a glance, they looked like idol trainees. The club prepared employees to match the tastes of their customers, so if this room was prepared for Director Choi Mujin, it meant all these employees were his type. No wonder he gave in so easily during their first meeting.
The employees standing there all resembled Haseo. Seeing the owner’s attitude, it seemed they had known each other for more than just a day or two. In reality, it was the other way around—Haseo resembled them. This realization made his heart ache for a moment.
He was suddenly inside the room. Director Choi Mujin let go of Haseo and calmly walked over to sit on the sofa. With his legs crossed, sitting on the black leather sofa, he looked incredibly fitting. If the grim reaper truly existed, he would probably look like that.
When Director Choi Mujin took out a cigarette from his pocket, an employee nearby quickly offered a lighter as if on cue. As the cigarette lit up, a faint smoke rose.
“Lee Haseo.”
Haseo bowed his head and replied quietly. He didn’t know what was going on, so he decided to be submissive for now.
“Yes.”
“So, you’re moonlighting? Why?”
To Director Choi Mujin’s question, Haseo replied with a mix of emotions,
“You never said I couldn’t.”
“True, I didn’t.”
Director Choi Mujin took a deep drag of his cigarette and exhaled slowly. Haseo’s words were not wrong. Whether Haseo moonlighted or not, there was no reason for Director Choi Mujin to come all the way here. If Haseo wasn’t doing his job properly, he could have just warned him about that. Haseo wasn’t stupid, so he would have adjusted his schedule accordingly.
‘But even knowing that…’
Strangely, he felt a knot in his stomach. Director Choi Mujin had received reports on everything Haseo did at the club. Usually, Pyo Sera would prevent information from leaking, but sometimes she would let things slide if it piqued her interest. Haseo’s case was one of those. Although there was nothing particularly interesting about it.
Director Choi Mujin smirked and looked at Haseo, who was now glaring at him with his head raised.
“I never said you couldn’t.”
“So, isn’t it fine?”
“Of course, it’s fine. I came today because…”
Director Choi Mujin tapped his foot and smiled.
“I came as a customer.”
Only then did Haseo’s expression change. Just a moment ago, he had been glaring as if he felt wronged, but now his face went blank. He was going to treat Director Choi Mujin as a customer, and that attitude was quite something. Strangely, it made Director Choi Mujin want to tease him.
Thud.
A large hand in a leather glove took out a wallet from his pocket and tossed it onto the table.
“Open it.”
As Director Choi Mujin gestured with his finger, Haseo moved to open the wallet.
“What’s inside?”
“A check.”
“How much?”
Half of them were for one million won, and the rest were for ten million won. Director Choi Mujin had deliberately filled his wallet before coming here. Haseo’s eyes sparkled unusually as he looked at the checks. He had seen many people greedy for money, but Haseo stood out among them.
“Do you want it?”
“I want it.”
“Then what should you do?”
As Director Choi Mujin said that, he uncrossed his legs. Haseo gulped and blinked his eyes. It was a brief moment, but Director Choi Mujin caught every detail. Haseo bowed down just as he had done with Cheolsu earlier. He placed his arms and knees on the floor and crawled like a dog towards Director Choi Mujin. He then carefully lifted his head and smiled beautifully.
“Woof!”
The detail of even making a dog sound was impressive. Then he buried his face between Director Choi Mujin’s spread legs. It didn’t take him long to find the zipper of the pants. His white teeth bit the zipper and pulled it down. Despite the many watching eyes, his actions were without hesitation. Watching him, Director Choi Mujin’s heart raced.
Haseo resembled Seo Jaewoo the most among the people he had met. If it were Seo Jaewoo, he would have cursed and gotten angry at such an act. But if it involved someone he cared about, he would have done it while holding back tears. In contrast, Haseo…
‘Is he different?’
He easily knelt and crawled like a dog for money. Director Choi Mujin knew this. But did Haseo use that money for himself?
‘No.’
Haseo was desperate to save his only family member and would do anything, no matter how dirty, to achieve that. Just like Seo Jaewoo had his principles, Haseo had his own reasons. Even though he was a crazy bastard who had tried to scam Director Choi Mujin the first time they met.
Director Choi Mujin lowered his head to look at Haseo between his legs again. All he could see was the back of his head, but he resembled Seo Jaewoo so much. Strangely, his anger started to fade.
