Blood And Iron (ASOIAF/GoT)

Chapter 214: Notice

According to what I had mentioned earlier, we've already developed the story in the areas we envisioned with my friend, and here are the results. I'll leave it up to you to choose which will be the next story. This will only happen after—or nearly when—I'm finishing the stories I've already started, such as Game of Thrones and Fallout, both of which don't have much left to complete anyway.

Warhammer 40k

The protagonist is a highly reputed Terran general from one of the most influential families that supported Arcturus Mengsk during the rebellion that brought him to power. This general is a staunch loyalist to Emperor Arcturus Mengsk and his ideals but harbors a deep disdain for his son, Valerian Mengsk, viewing his liberal policies and conciliatory vision as leading the Terran Dominion into decline. Seizing the opportunity, the general secretly aligns himself with the Defenders of Man, believing that a coup is the only way to restore the Dominion's strength. However, after the plot fails, the general takes command of all loyalist forces under his control, including a significant portion of the Royal Guard, the emperor's most devoted soldiers. Determined to continue the fight, he orchestrates a desperate tactical jump with his entire fleet. However, due to the hasty preparation and the jump into uncharted space, the fleet exits warp space only to be caught in a wormhole. The wormhole violently pulls them through its chaotic passage, tearing apart their navigational systems and disorienting their trajectory. When they emerge, they find themselves in another galaxy and another time, arriving in an unfamiliar sector near the Gulf of Damocles. This unplanned journey leaves the fleet scattered and damaged, forcing the protagonist and his forces to regroup and adapt to their precarious new reality.

Possible Twist:

The protagonist, in addition to being a general, is also a Terran Ghost, a product of a clandestine Dominion project known as shadowblade. As a Ghost, he underwent the brutal physical and psychological training of the program but managed to retain his memories thanks to his powerful family's influence. During his training, he was exposed to jorium and terrazine, psionic enhancers that drastically boosted his abilities. Moreover, he worked secretly with the Moebius Foundation, which, using captured Protoss High Templars, trained him to control his destructive capacities. This makes him a unique combatant with advanced psionic abilities, such as mind reading and mental blocking, psionic energy channeling to power his cloaking suit, mind control over weak targets, kinetic blasts (projecting devastating energy), psionic tethering (immobilizing enemies), psionic feedback (exploding the minds of enemies with unstable powers), and the ability to unleash psionic storms. Due to his training by Protoss psionics, he has control over his enhanced psionic abilities, which were overwhelmingly boosted by constant jorium and terrazine treatments.

Exposure to the disform storm amplifies his powers beyond expectations but also draws the attention of demonic forces. Although Terran psionics are generally less powerful than those of other races, his specialized training and the influence of the disformity could lead to severe conflicts with demons and chaotic entities.

Upon arriving in the sector near the Gulf of Damocles, the protagonist and his forces face multiple challenges: colonizing and rebuilding on ruined peripheral planets forces the Terrans to start from scratch while defending their position. Conflicts with other factions are inevitable, including:

The Tau, who might see them as potential allies or technological threats.

The Orks, who will seek confrontation for sheer enjoyment.

The Imperium of Man, which may view them as heretics or anomalies to be eliminated.

The Tyranids, interested in consuming Terran forces and their zerg technology .

Potential clashes with Dark Eldar and Chaos Demons, drawn by the protagonist's growing psionic energy.Notable Terran Dominion

Technology:

C-14 Gauss Rifle: Capable of firing 30 depleted uranium rounds per second, designed for effective penetration of armor and structures.

CMC Power Armor: Standard exoskeletons that enhance strength and provide basic protection. The Royal Guard variant includes advanced life-support systems, reinforced armor, and luxury combat drugs that do not harm the user.

Neo-Steel: A hybrid material based on Zerg knowledge, extremely durable, flexible, and capable of regeneration, used in shipbuilding and armor construction.

FTL Travel: Propulsion via warp drives that do not rely on the Warp. This ensures more stable and predictable intergalactic travel, avoiding the risks associated with temporal phenomena.Tactical Jumps: A maneuvering technology for capital ships, allowing rapid repositioning in space to enter orbit, evade enemy fire, or attack from unexpected flanks.

Siege Tanks: Ground vehicles that alternate between mobility and heavy artillery modes, capable of destroying fortifications and large enemy concentrations.

Goliaths: Reconnaissance and combat vehicles with automated machine guns and missile launchers, effective against both aerial and ground units.

Thor Units: 20-meter-tall mechanical walkers armed with missile launchers, 185mm cannons, and dual frontal cannons, ideal for heavy combat.

Vikings (Sky Wings): Air superiority fighters that can quickly transform into ground combat walkers. In the air, they excel in maneuverability and firepower, while on the ground, they provide mobile support with automatic cannons and missiles.

Battlecruisers: The flagship ships of the Terran fleet, with specialized variants like the Royal Guard model. These cruisers can perform multiple consecutive FTL jumps and repeatedly fire the Yamato Cannon, one of the most devastating weapons in the Terran arsenal.

The story focuses on the protagonist's dilemma: staying true to Arcturus Mengsk's ideals while fighting for survival in an unknown and hostile environment. This conflict is deepened by his growing psionic power, which makes him a key figure in the resistance but also a magnet for dark forces that threaten to corrupt or destroy him.

warhammer fantasy:

The protagonist is an ordinary man from the 21st century who, for unknown reasons, awakens in the body of a young noble or commoner in the Warhammer Fantasy world, approximately 10-15 years before Karl Franz's ascension as Emperor of the Empire. At first, he believes he is in a typical medieval setting with feudal lords, peasants, and the constant struggle against poverty and war. However, subtle details gradually reveal the truth: rumors of Beastmen lurking in the forests, tales of heroes facing Chaos armies, and ominous whispers of cults dedicated to the Ruinous Powers. Over time, he realizes he is in the perilous world of Warhammer Fantasy.

As the story progresses, the protagonist must contend with enemies that challenge both his leadership and his morality:

Chaos Cults: Operating in the shadows, they infiltrate his territory to undermine his influence and spread corruption.

Beastmen and Skaven: Savage raiding parties and nocturnal attacks test the defenses of his region.

Political Rivals: Other nobles see him as a threat, particularly if his methods and ideas are too progressive.

The Ruinous Powers: His foreknowledge of events makes him a special target for the entities of Chaos, who seek to corrupt or destroy him.

To ensure the story unfolds at a steady pace, the protagonist's technological advancements occur gradually, constrained by Warhammer's resources and limitations. Examples include:

Primitive Firearms: Refining existing muskets and cannons for greater reliability and accuracy.

Advanced Fortifications: Developing improved defenses like artillery towers and intricate traps to protect against Beastmen and Skaven raids.

Military Tactics: Introducing modern formations, such as disciplined infantry lines equipped with muskets and bayonets.

Mass Production: Applying basic manufacturing principles to better equip his troops, such as standardized weaponry and armor.

The Curse of Knowledge

The protagonist's understanding of Warhammer lore is both a blessing and a curse. While he knows that war and Chaos are inevitable, he must be cautious when using this knowledge to avoid accusations of witchcraft or heresy. His early years focus on adaptation, securing his position, and preparing for the apocalypse he knows is coming. Depending on his starting circumstances, the story's focus shifts:

Scenario 1: The Noble

The protagonist inherits a small domain, likely on the edge of a larger province like Reikland or Middenland. Here, he faces constant incursions from bandits, Beastmen, and Chaos cults. Realizing the Empire's inability to provide aid during a serious invasion, he assumes the role of an industrial baron, constructing a network of manufactories, forges, and workshops to supply his personal armies. His efforts focus on:

Developing artillery, muskets, and 19th-century-inspired technology.Balancing technological advancements with the Empire's conservative traditions to avoid accusations of heresy.Building loyalty among his vassals and peasants, who may distrust his unconventional methods.

Scenario 2: The Commoner

The protagonist begins life in a humble village but uses his future knowledge to rise through the ranks. He might become:

An apprentice to a blacksmith, introducing innovative designs and weaponry.A military strategist whose unconventional tactics gain recognition.A priest of Sigmar, inspiring faith and rallying the masses against Chaos.

Despite his precarious position compared to a noble, his close ties to the lower classes inspire fierce loyalty, making him a populist leader. He builds a militia of well-trained, well-equipped soldiers and earns the trust of local leaders, eventually securing a position of influence within the Empire.

Early Development

Upon realizing the true nature of the world, the protagonist begins to prepare for the immediate threats:

Fortifications: Constructing strong defenses, including walls, bastions, and watchtowers, to protect his territory from Beastmen and Skaven attacks.

Trained Militias: Organizing and equipping local militias with improved weaponry and armor to withstand incursions.

Strategic Alliances: Forming alliances with influential nobles, clergy, or military leaders to consolidate his position and gain support.

Influencing the Empire: Gradually persuading religious and political leaders of the importance of preparation for the Chaos Storm he knows is on the horizon.
