Blessed to be the Villain

Chapter 13: New Abilities

Ethan Mijuri, the grandson of the Duke of Mijuri and son of Isaac Mijuri—the duke's fourth son—was infamous in noble society. He was known not for his talent in magic or swordsmanship, but for his ability to seduce women. A notorious playboy, Ethan had a reputation for charming ladies with his silver tongue and striking looks.

However, despite his reputation, there was one thing most didn't know—Ethan's true preference. Unlike many of his peers who pursued young noble girls, Ethan was only interested in older women. To him, inexperienced and underdeveloped girls held no appeal. He sought those who had lived, those who knew desire, and those who could appreciate the kind of attention he lavished upon them.

Though he lacked talent in the martial or magical arts, the gods had compensated him with a face that could make hearts flutter and a voice that could melt resolve like chocolate under the summer sun. And Ethan used these gifts to their fullest.

Rumors whispered that not a single maid in the Mijuri estate had escaped his embrace. His popularity with women was undeniable, but with admiration came envy. Countless men scorned him, mocked his lack of talent, and spread malicious rumors in an attempt to ruin his name. Yet, none of it mattered.

If anything, their slander only increased his appeal. Many women saw him as a challenge—a rogue to be tamed, a bad boy they could reform. But Ethan was no fool. He played into their fantasies, made them feel like queens in his arms, and ensured they never forgot what it meant to be desired.

Perhaps they knew the danger he posed, the inevitable heartbreak that would follow. But in the end, they didn't care. There was an undeniable thrill in being pursued by a noble young man like Ethan Mijuri.

Ethan had never seduced a girl of his age.

Yet that changed one day.

Ethan, although uncaring on the outside, had always sought his father's acknowledgment. Yet, no matter what he did, he was never deemed worthy. When the opportunity arose to seduce his cousin—a pawn in a rival faction—he didn't hesitate. He took full advantage of the situation, spending a passionate night with her and making sure the scandal spread like wildfire, ruining her reputation and dealing a blow to his father's political enemies.

However, things didn't unfold as he expected. His father was not pleased. Instead of praising Ethan for his cunning, Isaac Mijuri's wrath descended upon him. His actions had only brought shame. The consequence was harsh: Ethan was banished to a small, remote town, far from the political intrigues of his noble family.

Ethan was furious. Why couldn't he gain his father's approval? It felt like an endless cycle of failure, and his frustration boiled over. His feelings of powerlessness gnawed at him. But it was during this time of isolation that he met Lara.

Lara was no ordinary commoner. Her beauty rivaled that of any noblewoman, but what set her apart was her air of aloofness, the cold indifference with which she treated him. She defied him in ways no other woman had, and in some twisted way, this made her even more enticing.

At first, Ethan believed he could use his charm to win her over. But Lara, with her unwavering composure, rejected every advance he made. This drove him mad. Her refusal reminded him of the way his father had treated him—like an insignificant child. So, for the first time in his life, Ethan decided he would take her by force.

And thus, the twisted game between them began.

As Ethan sat back, reflecting on the events, he sighed deeply. This whole situation was idiotic. The original Ethan had forced himself upon Lara in an attempt to assert control, to feel validated.

But then again, he could understand his actions. After all, Ethan was just a 16-year-old boy. He had lost his mother at a young age and never received the proper care or education he should have. The original Ethan had been shaped by these shortcomings, and though Ethan now inhabited this body, he couldn't hate the boy .

A quote from Earth suddenly came to mind. "We judge others by their actions, but ourselves by our intentions."

Ethan knew the original Ethan's heart, his pain, and the reasons behind his choices. He couldn't completely condemn him.

But there was no time to dwell on the past. His mind shifted back to the rewards. He had gained something—two new abilities.

"System, how do I get the rewards?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, eyes still narrowed in thought.

"Easy, Host," the system responded, its voice as cheerful as always.

A window appeared before him, and new words flashed across it.

Would you like to collect the rewards?

Available rewards: 2/0

Yes/No?

Ethan didn't hesitate. "Yes."

The system chimed, acknowledging his choice.

Reward generating.

Congratulations you have

Gained Ability :Phoenix's Embrace

One-time ability.

Host's body will erupt into phoenix fire upon death.

From the ashes, Host will be reborn, fully healed.

Skill Gained:OmniMark

Host can mark up to 5 items or locations.

Host can teleport to marked locations or summon marked items to their hand.

Current limit: 5 marks.

Uses per day: 10.

Ethan stared at the system's message, his eyes narrowing in surprise. These abilities were far more powerful than he had expected. Phoenix's Embrace, while a one-time use, could essentially grant him a second life—something that could change everything. The thought of being reborn from the ashes, escaping death with no consequences, sent a shiver of excitement through him.

And then there was OmniMark. It wasn't just a simple teleportation skill. The ability to mark items or locations, then teleport to them or summon them to his hand, was like having an invisible thread connecting him to the world around him. It was perfect for escaping tight situations or gaining an advantage in battle.

But just at that time The Bathroom door opened and Lara walked out.

Ethan glans at her for a moment only too freeze, his gaze looked on to her's.
