The sun could be seen peeking from the horizon, stalking the forest in which the quartet were standing.

"So, how are we going to do this?" Erza asked while excitedly bouncing on her feet.

Her excitement was several fold more than the combined excitement of all three people present.

"Well, you guys would come at me together all at once, though it might seem like I am looking down on you, but I won't use my mana zone, as that's too powerful," Akeru said to the others.

'Though I have the file of everyone, it didn't include most of their abilities, as that would have been too obvious. These restrictions will help me make rapid progress in the mana enhancement technique I am working on,' Akeru thought while looking at the trio.

BOOM.

Suddenly, a bullet was shot from a gun that materialized in Erza's hands.

The bullet was incredibly fast, easily crossing the sound barrier, and reaching a speed of 5 Mach.

If one looked closely, one would notice that the gun in Erza's hand broke while her feet dug into the ground.

'Look at that speed. At this range, even a captain won't be able to dodge this. Does she want to make me regret my words about not using Mana Zone?' Akeru was internally amused.

Even though the bullet's speed was 5 times the speed of sound, to Akeru it just looked like a baby's passive crawling towards him.

CLANG

Erza's eyes widened as she saw the bullet make contact with Akeru.

However, unlike how a bullet meets human flesh, it sounded like steel met steel.

"Aren't you too naughty to start even before I signalled to begin?" Akeru said with a grin.

At that part of his body, a layer of mana could be seen, with geometrical shapes on it.

"Tch, it would have been boring if it was already over," Erza grinned shamelessly, apparently not bothered about doing a sneak attack.

"Well, though there's no winning condition specifically, how about making me use my mana zone?" Akeru suggested.

He got his answer as several fire phoenixes came at him at blinding speeds.

Akeru just side-stepped and some more steps in different directions in rapid succession as he dodged the phoenixes.

A water ball could be seen enclosing him.

'Seraph's Nursery,' Akeru thought as he was fully enclosed by his most defensive spell to date.

Lightning could be seen present in his shell, flickering between red and green colours.

All the remaining fire constructs met their end against this defence.

Bang Bang Bang

Suddenly, multiple bullets rushed at Akeru at speeds similar to the previous bullet.

'A Machine Gun?' Akeru was shocked as he saw a massive gun and a considerable number of bullets coming out of it.

Akeru's surprise at knowing about her magic was second only to his shock about Kaiser's presence there.

He had thought a lot but hadn't reached a conclusion about how this came to be, so he did some research and realized that guns did exist in this world.

There were even offensive artefacts in the form of a gun.

'Still, Gun creation magic? That's really an interesting magic. I wonder what its limits would be,' Akeru thought while looking at the bullets colliding with his shell.

KLANG KLANG

Multiple bullets tried to penetrate his shell, but all were useless against his absolute defence.

"That's really good magic, though I will say that you will need more firepower to break my defence," Akeru grinned.

"Yeah? I will give you a big one," Erza said while her machine gun changed shape.

However, Akeru didn't have time to focus on her as a massive phoenix collided with his shell.

'He has really improved so much compared to the last time I fought him,' Akeru was really surprised at the transformation he was seeing.

Kaiser, who was now near the shell, in which Akeru was hiding like a tortoise, stomped on the ground.

Suddenly, the ground on which Akeru was standing erupted in fire.

However, unlike the previous time, the temperature of this spell was enough to melt steel easily.

'It almost feels like yesterday that I battled him,' Akeru felt nostalgic while looking at the familiar spell he had dodged last time.

Unlike what it appeared, his shell gave him 360-degree protection and it wasn't left unguarded at the base.

Akeru wouldn't leave an obvious flaw in his own creation.

As Akeru was chilling inside his shell, in the middle of the eruption of fire, his eyes widened suddenly.

He saw a large red line on him, which was quickly brightening in intensity.

'This attack, this is dangerous,' Akeru thought while Moonwalking backwards, such that he would at least get a view of the attack as he had only seen fire around him before.

Whoosh.

The sound of something breaking the air could be heard before it became clear to Akeru what he was dealing with.

'Is that a freaking rocket? Did she make a rocket launcher?' Akeru was mind-boggled at the projectile coming at him.

'That's nearly 12 Mach in speed. What the hell? I can't dodge it without using Orion's Ordeal, and even if I use it, I won't be able to accelerate quickly to escape its range.'

Akeru was shocked not only due to seeing a rocket but also the speed displayed by a second-class Senior Knight. He could also see that the firepower of this thing would be incomparable to the bullet.

A purple robe materialized on Akeru.

'Since when are second-class knights this strong? Wait, is that an array on its tip? That should be the reason I feel it's dangerous.'

Akeru's prediction was spot on.

He left the Seraph's shell, just as the rocket clashed with his shell.

Akeru was watching what happened next in slow motion.

The rocket broke through the shell with great effort and headed toward him.

'Oh, so its purpose was to disrupt the mana of my shell. No wonder I felt danger. That combination is equivalent to a very dense spatial attack thrown by Langris,' Akeru thought while side-stepping the rocket barely.

Due to the clash with his shell, the speed of the rocket was reduced considerably, and with some time given to Akeru, with his Orion's Mischief, he was able to dodge it.

However, he hadn't forgotten that he was dodging a freaking rocket and not a bullet.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

A big explosion occurred behind Akeru.

Though he didn't have Seraph's shell currently, he had quickly applied its principles to his body, such that Vibratory Chaos was fully applied to the pure mana defence.

Akeru was thrown like a rag doll in front.

'Woah, I could use this as a way to propel myself in the future,' Akeru thought as he suffered no damage in the entire ordeal.

'Well, time to meet the leader,' Akeru—still blitzing mid-air with a few inches above the ground—kicked the ground and barely dodged a chain.

The chain didn't stop its pursuit and, like a snake or a tentacle, changed its direction.

Akeru quickly burst mana from his body to change his direction to his left, going away from the chain, only to meet Erza in front of him.

'Is that a short gu-' Akeru closed his eyes as he was shot straight in his face.

Though he was still unharmed due to the mana barrier on his entire body, his momentum was considerably lowered, though still airborne.

He opened his eyes, only to find Erza's face inches away from his neck, a knife in her hand, inching closer to his neck.

Currently, he was blitzing through the air, with his face a few inches above Erza, who was standing, such that his lower body would definitely collide with her if his chest somehow wouldn't.

"Well, that was not really nice to shoot somebody in their face," Akeru said with an annoyed expression.

His palm went to intercept the knife.

However, just as they were going to meet, he burst mana from many parts of his body, such that his entire form twisted very quickly, the knife barely missing his neck.

His hands latched onto her arm.

"How about you taste your own medicine?" Lightning appeared on his hand as he conducted it through Erza's body.

Due to experimenting with lightning enhancement and his medical knowledge, he could shock people to cause specific pain or long-lasting damage depending on him.

Though the other party's mana would naturally try to resist, it is very effective on people without proper defence spells or not good enough Mana skin.
