Chapter 249

Raul did not expect the crazy emperor to allow him to meet his daughter easily. Therefore, he was prepared to kneel for hours in front of the Sun Palace until Jeffrey came out to greet him. That thought evaporated completely from his mind when Jeffrey mentioned the location.

“You can meet Lady Theresa tomorrow. If it’s alright with you, Your Grace, you can stay in the Moon Palace tonight.”

“Did you just say the Moon Palace?”

Are you saying you’ll provide a separate palace to host the empress’s guests? It was such a blatant message that he felt more baffled than angry.

Jeffrey spoke. “As you might have noticed, His Majesty is fond of Lady Theresa. He also wishes to make her an empress.”

Raul pondered for a moment. Would punching Jeffrey’s mouth for spouting such nonsense land him in the imperial prison before meeting his daughter?

Suppressing the sudden impulse, he asked calmly, “Why must I listen to this nonsense?” Although his words were disrespectful.

“Of course, there is a reason, Your Grace.”

Jeffrey had served the emperor for a long time, dealing with numerous difficult people. Among them, Raul Squire was a particularly notable figure. Fortunately, Jeffrey knew Raul’s younger days. There was a time when he was secretly called a ‘Mad Dog’ among the nobility. Thanks to that, his expectations for Raul were already very low, and he was rather surprised by the current polite reaction.

Although it was unfortunate that the man who would become the emperor’s father-in-law was a mad dog, Jeffrey thought it was bearable considering Theresa. So, he was able to deliver the news to Raul with a joyful heart.

“Because Lady Theresa herself expressed her wish to stay in the imperial palace for a few days.”

It was terrible news for Raul.

“What did you just say? She wishes to stay in the imperial palace? By her own will? Not under the emperor’s threat?”

“You’ve spoken words that should have remained as thoughts, Your Grace.”

Jeffrey pointed out to prevent the emperor’s future father-in-law from being imprisoned before the imperial wedding. But such words did not reach Raul’s ears.

“I must meet Theresa immediately. I will find out what is happening to her!”

“That is difficult. Lady Theresa is currently spending time with His Majesty.”

Raul sighed and rubbed his forehead. Even before entering the dungeon, he shuddered at the thought of the emperor, despite Theresa denying any intention of becoming the empress multiple times.

Could they have fallen for each other in the dungeon?

It was a horrendous assumption he did not even want to think about.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey smiled contentedly, thinking of the future empress he would serve. He paid the utmost respect to Raul, who had given birth to a lady who tamed the emperor with the worst personality.

“Then I will escort you to Lady Theresa’s private parlor in the Sun Palace tomorrow.”

After spending a restless day in anguish, the next day, upon hearing the news that Theresa was ready to receive guests, Raul hurriedly went to the Sun Palace.

Bang!

As soon as he entered his daughter’s personal space in an annoyingly luxurious room, he called out loudly.

“Theresa!”

But the daughter he was desperately looking for was nowhere to be seen.

Where could she be? Still in the bedroom? Where is the emperor? Surely they are not still together?

At that moment, his daughter’s bright face popped out from behind a long sofa.

Ah

, you’re here already?”

Seeing Theresa not even sitting on the sofa but crouching on the floor behind the backrest, he was baffled. “What are you doing there?”

Up close, Theresa was sitting on a large board on the carpet, drawing something quickly with a blunt graphite.

“There wasn’t paper large enough to draw a multi-magic circuit.”

The strange occurrences did not end there.

Whoosh! Whoosh, whoosh!

Through the open parlor window, papers folded into arrow shapes kept flying in like messenger pigeons.

“What is all this?”

“These are dungeon countermeasure proposals. There is a meeting today.”

“Why are you doing that… more importantly, how are you using magic in the Sun Palace?”

It seemed Theresa had not just been lucky when she used magic at the banquet hall before entering the dungeon.

Raul momentarily forgot why he had come and snapped back to reality. “We shouldn’t be here, Theresa. Let’s get out before you end up as the empress.”

“It’s fine. I am here because I need to be. By the way, Father, you will need to come here often as well.”

“What do you mean?”

“I couldn’t prevent the impending apocalypse. So, we need to respond as soon as possible.”

It was like playing a puzzle, and he couldn’t understand what his daughter was saying.

At that moment, something dropped onto the sofa next to Raul. When he checked, it was a magic book.

Theresa explained. “It’s a book that raises intelligence by one level if read completely. Please tell Libby and Giuseppe to read it as well.”

Thud!

Next, a small box fell onto the book.

“It’s a magical tool that shares a part of my subspace. It contains potions. Each potion is labeled with its use and precautions.” After explaining, Theresa stood up, having completed the multi-magic circuit.

“I’m sorry. I wanted to finish it before you arrived, but I was a bit late.” Theresa didn’t explain why she was late, just smiled awkwardly.

Raul sighed deeply and shook his head. “Just come here and explain what is going on. Then I can decide whether to call His Majesty or not.”

Knock, knock.

“Princess, it’s Bein.”

“Come in.”

At that moment, Bein entered, personally bringing tea and refreshments. He greeted Raul, who was looking baffled, politely. “Sorry for not greeting you yesterday due to being busy with matters at the Sun Palace, Duke Squire.”

“I wonder what kept the chamberlain so busy that he couldn’t greet guests.”

Raul scoffed as he scanned Theresa’s personal parlor. While Theresa seemed indifferent, Raul could tell at a glance how extraordinary the items filling the room were.

Even the carpet Theresa is sitting on must be worth as much as a prized horse.

Graphite powder was flying onto such a carpet. Even he, who wasn’t the owner of it, felt sorry for the carpet that fell into the wrong hands. And if his memory served correctly, the statue in the display cabinet was one of the imperial treasures.

In simple terms, the room was filled with imperial treasures.

Even the empress’s chamber wouldn’t be this luxuriously decorated.

Meanwhile, Bein was setting the table with tea and delicacies and urging Theresa to try them. Seeing him acting like a grandfather doting on his granddaughter, Raul felt even more irritated.

“Come over here and have some tea, Father. The raspberry cake is especially delicious. So is the chocolate mousse.”

As his daughter, who seemed unfazed by the treatment, talked about cakes, Raul suddenly felt a surge of anger. “You eat it all.”

“…? Okay.”

Theresa ate the cake deliciously. Still, seeing his daughter eating well after a long time calmed Raul’s anger, and he poured her some tea so she wouldn’t choke.

“Eat slowly. You might get sick.”

“Yes.”

Raul wiped the chocolate off his daughter’s lips with a handkerchief and finally heard an explanation of the situation.

“I plan to annihilate the Stigmata. This is the headquarters for countermeasures.”

Raul, who had come to hear if the emperor proposed to her and if she accepted, furrowed his brow when only heard about the Stigmata.  “Can that be done?”

“Yes. It can and must be done.”

Theresa pointed to the multi-magic circuit she had just drawn. “It’s a magic that can locate the puppet’s location. I plan to inscribe it on crystals to make magical tools.”

“What?! Is that true?”

He couldn’t believe that the multi-magic circuit could have such tremendous abilities. And Theresa seemed to have created it effortlessly. He had always thought she had transcended human limits. But this was beyond that…

How can this even be explained?

To him, Theresa seemed like a demon who brought magic to the human world. Although it made no sense, he couldn’t shake the thought.

“Stigmata is currently creating numerous dungeons, even at the risk of exposing their hideouts.”

Hearing this, Raul put his surprise aside and became serious.

“Indeed. You can feel the increase without counting. We’ve already captured three Stigmata because of it.”

“There are over 100 known dungeons now.”

At this rate, the human realm would soon be absorbed by the demon realm. Until yesterday, reports were flooding in about unusual signs in the territories under the Squire family.

“The real problem is the dungeon. No, it’s the people’s desire to possess the dream world of the dungeon.”

As long as there are people with desires, dungeons will not disappear.

“So we need a quick way to eliminate dungeons.”

“Do you have a way?”

Theresa casually answered, as if not realizing the gravity of the situation, while scattering graphite powder in a room full of rare treasures. “I plan to eliminate the dungeons. From the outside.”
