Bifurcated Fate: Entertainment Monarch

Chapter 1: Prologue: So I start with comics?! But I don't know how to draw!

Platinum Star , a relatively conventional world, with normal people, modern cities, contemporary technology, no fantasy and no preamble.

Really, a very normal world... At least, until the day the dimensions opened. Dozens of portals and horrible creatures that seemed to have come out of Lovecraftian horror, being spat out of them.

It was a massacre...

People were dying everywhere in the world, cities were being destroyed and life was disappearing. No government or army could stop these creatures, it seemed like it was the end of the world, a true Armageddon.

However, hope arose for humanity. In addition to the monsters, the portals brought energies that transformed the planet forever.

This is how magic emerged in the world, spreading to every corner of the planet, whether in the sea, on land, in the air, in nature or in living beings themselves.

And humans with great talent could wield this magic, doing things that would have been impossible before. However, the creatures were too powerful, even if magic stabilized the balance of power, it still wasn't enough.

But in these difficult times, another miracle came to humanity, nothing more and nothing less than Gods.

Truly divine beings, who blessed certain chosen humans, who put an end to this apocalypse and brought stability to the world.

The Gods guided these humans, explaining that these dimensional ruptures should not have happened at all, but greater forces interfered with this.

Through the teachings of the Gods, the chosen ones were able to better understand the structure of the Multiverse, the foundations of magic and the capacity of their blessings.

When everything was finally resolved, the Gods helped to contain the portals, which unfortunately would remain open forever on the Platinum Star. Then the deities left, leaving one last gift for humanity.

A System, The Great System. A technological and divine entity, which granted blessings to destined humans and helped humanity with its crises.

Since then, the world has changed forever. Cities have been rebuilt, new ones have been made, technology has advanced extraordinarily with the mixture of magic and the hierarchy of the planet has changed.

Now, the strength was absolute. The most talented in magic, with powerful blessings, were those who stood at the top of the world.

A new profession was created, the mana warriors. Adventurers who entered portals contained around the world and uncovered other realities, eliminating monsters, saving people, finding treasures and cataloging the Multiverse.

These other worlds were completely different from the Platinum Star. There were no humans in any of them, but rather other races of the most diverse kinds. Some even looked like humans, but far from actually being so.

These other worlds were catalogued by a danger ranking, from the lowest and most common level, F, to the most dangerous and cosmic SSSS.

However, there was a category outside this Ranking, the untouchable worlds. These worlds were completely inaccessible, the scientists and mana warriors knew that these worlds existed, but they could not be reached in any way.

It was as if these worlds were completely protected, out of sight of any other reality in the Multiverse. There were many theories about these worlds among scientists, but none were really concrete.

Some theorized that they were the home of the Gods who once saved humanity, others said they were the worlds of the most advanced and evolved races in the Multiverse, while others even believed them to be dead, lifeless realities.

In the end, no one could know for sure. It was one of the greatest mysteries of the infinite existence of the Multiverse.

However, none of that mattered to Jack Billions, the youngest son of the most powerful aristocratic family in Oblivion City.

The Billions had a powerful lineage, with their ancestor being one of the warriors who were blessed by the Gods. This ancestor even had an influence on the creation of Oblivion City itself, being responsible for the city's name.

Furthermore, unlike other people in the world, being part of this warrior's lineage, the Billions did not need the Great System to gain blessings. The ancestor's Blessing passed down through the family, developing into other similar blessings; it was the sacred lineage of the Billions.

Jack was the youngest child in the family, also the most spoiled by his parents, having a "perfect childhood", always with everything in his hands.

However, Jack's childhood was not so perfect, because by the misfortune of fate, Jack was the only member of the family not to awaken any blessings.

His talent for magic was also non-existent, so he was completely despised by his brothers, cousins, uncles, and any other relatives other than his parents.

He was definitely the black sheep of the family, so much so that when he left the house he could hear the whispers of others and see the disgust hidden in their eyes.

That's how Jack began to hate the world he lived in, a world where people only cared about powers, magic, blessings and stupidity.

Sometimes he thought he was born in the wrong world (Even more so with the proven existence of the Multiverse, this theory seemed very right to him).

Soon, Jack isolated himself from the world and people, living in his dark room in the Billions Mansion, only going out on unique occasions, like a family dinner or things like that.

Over time, people began to forget about him, and since he had no blessings or talent, his parents did not mind his isolation. After all, his brother Ethan Billions was considered a "genius."

So no one cared and Jack preferred it that way.

Perhaps the only ones who cared about him were the mansion's servants, since they still served him and Jack didn't treat them badly, like his brothers did.

As a result, Jack was much better than his brothers in the eyes of the employees, who felt sorry for the boy's unhappy life.

But Jack wasn't that unhappy, inside the bubble he had created, his life was "great".

He immersed himself in entertainment, whether it was games, movies, series, animations, manga, comics. That was his world.

Nowadays, there were no more quality works, everyone only cared about the mana warriors and everything was geared towards them. So, Jack was content with pre-magic content.

All the entertainment that was created before the apocalyptic day and the creation of magic in the world. Jack consumed everything he could and then some.

He was a geek in every sense of the word, a true lover of entertainment, it was his world.

The only world in which he felt welcomed and inspired, the only world in which he felt alive.

And that was how Jack Billions planned to live his life, locked in his room, trapped in the world of entertainment. Far from the real world and the despicable people.

However, this was certainly a turning point in his plans...

[Congratulations! You have awakened the Dimensional Entertainment System, a unique variant of the Great System, with the purpose of serving only you and helping you reach the top of entertainment in any world!]

Maybe he wasn't as unlucky as he thought, but this was crazy, even by the standards of the world he lived in.

"Uhh, System? What do you mean I woke you up? And what exactly do you do?"

[ The Dimensional Entertainment System has been linked to the host since its birth, but it can only reach 100% functionality now. The reasons for the system's link to the host are unknown in the database. The system's functions include:

*Obtaining Skills*

*Obtaining Titles with different effects*

*Obtaining memories from gifted individuals in the Multiverse*

*Multi-Dimensional Travel through untouchable worlds, through reincarnation and fusion of souls with individuals chosen by the Dimensional Entertainment System*

- Missions will be offered to the host, through these missions, the host will be able to gain skills, memories or titles

- It is up to the host to accept or not the missions, there are no penalties or consequences for failing the missions, however the host will not gain anything

- The Host can see their current skills, titles and memories in Status

- The Host can receive items in the System inventory

- The Host can choose to use the Dimensional Entertainment System or not, I am permanently linked to the host's soul, so even if the host does not use the System, I will continue here.

- The Dimensional Entertainment System may have updates in the future, or undergo modifications depending on the Host's current situation.

- The Host can communicate or use the System with his thoughts, vocal commands are not necessary

To say Jack was surprised was an understatement, this was more incredible than anything he could have imagined.

Gain abilities? Memories? Damn, travel to the untouchable worlds?! The worlds that not even the best mana warriors and the most capable scientists could reach?!

The worlds that were totally protected and unreachable by any race or being from the Multiverse, were almost a second Multiverse separate from ours.

And now with the System, Jack could reach these worlds, he could be the first human and living being in the Multiverse to see firsthand what was on the untouchable worlds.

Of course, Jack wasn't that stupid, he soon realized that the reason he was born without any blessing or talent for magic was this System linked to his soul.

But he wasn't stingy, he was grateful to have the system, something so unique and only for him, it was truly phenomenal. In fact, this System could be better than any blessing or magic in his world!

What if Jack would use it? That didn't even need an answer, the chance to change his fate was here and he was going to seize it.

"System, from what I understand, in order to receive missions and use you effectively, I need to travel to the untouchable worlds. But if that happens through reincarnation, what will happen to me in this world?"

Jack asked worriedly, after all he didn't want to die or cease to exist to travel to another world.

[ Every time the host leaves a world, time in that world will stop. So nothing really happens to the host, their soul simply leaves their body and goes to another. When this happens, time in the host's current world stops and only starts moving again when the host returns to the world.]

Well, that system was broken. That was ridiculous, he said it so simply, as if his soul traveling through the Multiverse and time stopping were conventional things.

But Jack smiled, he was excited to get started and didn't really mind leaving his world, there was nothing for him there.

"System, I want to travel to my first untouchable world!"

Jack said full of emotion, this was the beginning of his journey, the chance to

change his unfortunate destiny.

[Looking for the first world suitable for Host development... Analyzing possibilities for Host success... Looking for worlds of moderate difficulty for Host success...

World Found: Earth 1737

Looking for a suitable individual for host reincarnation....

Individual found: Adrien Lockwood

Changing reality to an initial situation favorable for the host's development...

Altered reality

To begin Multi-Dimensional travel, lie down on the bed.]

Reading the messages that were appearing on the System's screen, Jack's heart almost jumped out of his mouth when he read that the system had altered reality to create an initial situation favorable to him.

"Is the System even capable of doing that?!"

Jack thought, stunned by the system's basically godlike capabilities.

But leaving that aside, he quickly went to his bed and lay down.

Start Multi-Dimensional Travel?

[Yes/No]

Upon seeing the System's message, Jack immediately clicked yes, then the system began a loading process and when it reached close to 100%, Jack said his last words in his current world.

"Goodbye family, goodbye Platinum Star. Time to start a new and authentic life!"

Jack exclaimed, before instantly passing out.

Then the world stopped....

-----------------------------------------------------------

Adrien Lockwood was a dedicated young man full of dreams, but very unlucky.

Ever since he was old enough to understand what was in front of him, Adrien fell in love with animation.

A combination of art, storytelling, music and technology created something magical. Little Adrien wanted to create something magical too.

So he made up his mind. Adrien Lockwood would be an animator!

Of course, this was much easier said than done, but he was determined to keep this promise.

Nowadays, being an animator is much easier than before, but at the same time much more complex.

With advanced technology, all you need to make a good animation is a great mind and a virtual world.

Exactly, now through virtual reality technology, you just need to have a lot of technical knowledge, a NexusVr helmet and a NexusWorld pendrive to have your virtual world.

This way, anyone could create animations or games, but it was more complex than it seemed.

Obviously, you still needed a team, after all it was very difficult for one person to deal with all aspects of an animation alone, few had such capacity.

Brainstorming, script, storyboarding, character design, scenery, technical planning, modeling, composition, visual effects, etc.

There are several steps to creating an animation, even in a virtual world and only with the mind, all of this could not be done by just one person (It could, but that person would have to be very capable to do so).

Furthermore, it was necessary to study to understand the process of transforming a virtual world with the mind and creating everything that was necessary.

However, as previously mentioned, Adrien was persistent. He studied hard, dedicated himself to the maximum, got the best grades and was accepted into the School of Motion Picture Animated Arts (SMPA).

For a while, everything was going well for Adrien and his dreams didn't seem so far away!

But things never go as planned, his father died in a car accident, leaving Adrien alone in this world.

His mother had died in childbirth when he was born, so he never knew her. And suddenly, his father was taken from him too.

It was a huge blow for Adrien, who now had no way to pay his tuition at SMPA. Although he could have asked some of his father's friends for financial help, he decided against it.

At first, Adrien worked hard to pay the tuition by doing part-time jobs. But he couldn't keep up with both work and studies.

So in the end, he decided to give up and drop out of college. His dreams had been destroyed, just like that.

The moment he was in his small rented apartment, having unhealthy thoughts, was when Jack Billions was reincarnated.

A golden and blue glow surrounded Adrien Lockwood, as Jack Billions' soul and Adrien Lockwood's soul became one.

The new Adrien opened his eyes and saw the apartment with almost no furniture. His thoughts were a little erratic, he was quite surprised.

In his old world, when Jack had seen the name Adrien Lockwood, he hadn't thought much about it, after all he was so excited that he simply ended up ignoring it.

However, now he realized that he should have realized the fact that it was a human name. He had reincarnated into a human!

This meant that the untouchable worlds were worlds that could have humans, this was quite a revelation to him.

But either way, he felt strange, he had become one with Adrien Lockwood. Now, all his memories, feelings, and personality had merged with his.

The two of them became one person. It was really weird.

The current Adrien felt much more mature and intelligent. After all, in his old world he was 19 years old and in this one, he was 22.

Technically, he had 41 years of life experience, which was surprising. Only now did he understand the impact that memories and experiences could have on him.

After traveling through several worlds, he would definitely be a completely different person, which was a little scary to think about.

However, leaving that aside, Adrien asked the system.

"System, is there any mission? What should I do now?"

Adrien asked curiously, after all his current situation was not very good, he had no family, no money and he had dropped out of college.

In fact, his situation was horrible.

[First Main Mission: Start with good work and solidify your presence in the comics industry!

To make dreams come true and reach the top, you have to start somewhere. Oblivion Entertainment is a company created and registered by the system for the host, its subsidiary Oblivion Comics is where it all begins.

Create a successful work and put Oblivion Comics and the name: Adrien Lockwood on the map!

Reward: Remain forever with the memories of Tom Blake.]

Despair began to take hold of Adrien when he saw the mission, he clearly understood that the change in reality made by the system was this company.

(Which oddly enough had the same name as his hometown in his old world, not that he cared about the name at the moment.)

But he was completely screwed! How was creating comics his first mission? He was terrible at drawing, in both lives.

As much as he wanted to be an animator in this life, the requirements to be one were completely different, it was not necessary to know how to draw.

And who the hell was Tom Blak-

Adrien suddenly froze, as several memories and experiences flashed through his mind.

They were Tom Blake's memories.

Thomas Jefferson Blake was a writer, screenwriter and comic book artist. In his world, he was considered a legend, creating all kinds of fantastic stories.

He worked in terror, suspense, action, romance, adventure and even had his milestones in the superhero genre. He was considered one of the biggest names in the industry, at least in his world.

If Adrien felt different before, now it was as if he were a wise old hermit. Tom Blake was 72 years old in his world.

So, counting down, Adrien now had 113 years of life experience. Truly crazy.

However, his problems were more or less solved now, he had more than enough skill to make a successful comic book.

And if he wanted to continue on this "initial route" of the System, which was the comics industry, he needed to complete this mission successfully.

Not only to get off on the right foot in the industry, but also to retain Tom Blake's knowledge, which was essential for a smooth trajectory.

[Notice to the host: A starter pack is released upon entering a new world, this pack may contain advantages that initially help the host in the current world.

Do you want to open the starter pack?

[Yes/No]

Upon seeing the system notification, Adrien immediately clicked "Yes." At this crucial moment, any benefit was great.

[Congratulations! The Host has opened the starter pack and received:

Unlimited set of materials for creating comics;

Ability: Observe {Ability to see information and descriptions of everything around you, including the status of other people};

Unique Boost Chance: When using this boost, a unique event is created to boost a Host's work, the success of this event depends on the quality of the Host's work.

Ability: Biblioéndon {With this ability, the Host builds a "Library" inside his mind, capable of systematically organizing all his memories and knowledge, being able to access everything instantly and almost achieving a perfect memory};

Title: The Master of Rest {Effect - You are a true master in the art of resting, while normal people need at least 8 hours of sleep for a full rest, you only need 3 to 4 hours for the same result!}

The unlimited set of materials for creating comics is in the system inventory, the Host only needs to access the inventory and purchase as many materials as needed.]

The rewards were more satisfying than Adrien could have ever imagined. They were truly great advantages for his start in this world.

He can immediately use the Biblioéndon skill and create his "mental library", organizing his memories and knowledge.

This whole process took only a few minutes, it was simpler than Adrien expected. Now, he could access any memory instantly.

It was an extremely useful skill, it would be something that would help him a lot in any world or situation he was in.

"Observe" was also a good skill, even though he didn't need it at the moment.

Curious about his current status, especially after these rewards, Adrien said:

"System, show my status!"

[Name: Adrien Lockwood {Others: Jack Billions, %#*¢×§∆\}

Age: 22 {Mental: 113}

Memories: (Tom Blake - temporary)

Titles: The Reincarnator; The Master of Rest

Skills: Observe; Biblioendon

Description: "Jack Billions" is an unfortunate individual, but his destiny is unpredictable, his story does not begin in one world and does not end in another... But who knows how far he can go? After all, he is %#*¢×§∆\]

"System? Why do I have a third name? And what the hell does it mean?"

Adrien asked in shock, not understanding what that name was or what its description meant.

[Information locked in the Database, the current Dimensional Entertainment System cannot access.]

Adrien was speechless at this, could there be something about himself that even he didn't know? Why the hell did he have another name? Could he already be a reincarnation even in his other world?

Has he had another life before? But why would this information be blocked?

And why was the name a meaningless code? Is it a mistake or a strange language?

Adrien felt a headache coming on, but he decided to let it go, he clearly couldn't have any answers at the moment.

He could only push forward as far as he could, until one day those answers appeared to him.

Therefore, resolving to focus on the mission at hand, Adrien began doing some general research to understand the world he was in.

His memories of being Adrien Lockwood helped a lot, but when it came to the comic book industry in that world, he didn't know much.

What he knew was that this world was clearly extremely advanced, even though it was clearly different from the Platinum Star that utilized magic with technology.

The film industry was very different, the focus on animation was evident. Although traditional cinema with actors existed, it was far from being as prestigious and adored as animation.

Furthermore, the gaming industry was also very prestigious and respected, even more so with today's technology. It was very difficult to see a home without a video game console, it was totally connected to people's lives and routines.

However, what surprised Adrien in his research was discovering that the comic book industry was not far behind.

People consumed comics excessively in this world, more than books or other types of reading, it was a great means of entertainment.

The historical changes that led to this didn't matter much to Adrien, only the current situation.

This "Earth" even seemed the opposite of his old world, while the advancement of society and technology led to the "weakening" of entertainment, especially after the apocalypse and magic.

In this world, advancement only increased the forms of entertainment in people's lives, which was quite satisfactory for Adrien.

However, in his research, he saw few recognizable works. When it comes to comics, even less.

In fact, unlike his world, comics were quite varied in genre and works.

In his old world, when people talked about comics, even though there were many other things, the first thing that came to mind was superheroes.

But on this earth, the story was different. The superhero genre in this world was basically a subgenre.

Here, the genre never gained traction and only a niche community enjoyed heroes.

Publishers like Marvel and DC actually existed, but they were very different from what Adrien knew.

Marvel was a small publisher and had superhero comics, even boasting some classics like Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.

However, the stories were not very good and lacked classic sagas, important characters, significant arcs and more.

In fact, as strange as it may seem, the Marvel of this world was supported by romance comics.

Meanwhile, DC was even more different. Early on, they even tried to venture into the genre.

In fact, they were almost the "founders" of it with the first superhero of all, Superman.

And it worked, at least for a while. Until the stories became increasingly generic and meaningless.

Most of Superman's villains were never conceived and his powers had no limits, apart from its weaknesses that did not exist (Not even Kryptonite).

They even brought other heroes to the table, like the Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman, and a pretty weird version of Hawkman.

In addition to other heroes that Adrien had never seen before, probably original to this world.

Most were resounding failures, the most successful ones, which were Flash, Green Lantern and Aquaman, only lasted for a while.

After all, the stories were pretty pitiful. The Flash was the original, Jay Garrick, so no Barry Allen or Wally West.

There wasn't even the concept of the Speed Force or other speedsters.

The Green Lantern was Alan Scott, in other words, he only used a magic lantern and there was nothing from the mythology of the Green Lantern Corps.

And Aquaman was just considered a bad copy of Marvel's Namor.

Heck, they hadn't even created Batman and Wonder Woman, which was almost a crime in Adrien's eyes.

DC even tried to bring hype with the union and crossover of these heroes in the justice society, but like the other stories, it worked for a short time.

Then, at some point, all superhero comics were canceled and DC went back to its roots, focusing on investigation and detective stories.

Which surprisingly were quite successful, turning DC into a major publisher today.

Copyright issues were very strict in this world, so the rights to the heroes were with their creators, who were still alive.

Superman's creator even tried to bring the character back to another publisher called Mythos Ink, but the result was quite mediocre.

So the current status of superhero comics was pretty bad, a truly niche genre.

However, Adrien saw a huge opportunity in this, as with his knowledge he could revive the genre.

More than that, he could make the genre reach heights it has never reached in this world, especially with people's appreciation for comics.

This was a golden opportunity.

And what better character for the rebirth of superhero comics than the legendary Batman?

Adrien had researched very carefully and even asked the system, so he was 100% sure that Batman had never even been considered in this world.

Bob Kane didn't even exist, nor did anyone with a similar name in the industry.

That way, he could work with the character without any fear. Adrien felt very lucky, he was going to "steal" one of DC's greatest characters and the publisher had no idea.

They probably wouldn't even care, after all, superheroes are something from the publisher's distant past.

Adrien went through the Batman stories in his mental library, but it was more than obvious where he should start.

Every hero had their origin story and Batman's couldn't be more iconic.

Especially when we are talking about...

Batman: Year One

One of the best Batman stories, a revival of the legendary Frank Miller, there was no way to start with any other story.

Adrien immediately began removing the excellent materials created by the system to produce the work.

Tom Blake was truly a master of the craft, when drawing, Adrien felt he could reproduce anything, even completely different styles.

So, he decided to use a mix of art styles, taking complete inspiration from the modern (and very beautiful) styles of Dan Mora, Bruno Redondo, Greg Capullo and Jason Fabok.

Great artists from the DC Comics he knew.

Obviously, he would keep the art in the same noirish, gothic vibe of the original story that he remembered, but the modern style would make the art more than excellent.

The story and narrative were wonderful, so there weren't many details that needed to be changed.

The more pages Adrien drew, the more excited he felt, this was the beginning of everything.

He didn't know how far he would go or even if he would succeed, but this was definitely the beginning of a great journey.

A path that would extend not only across this world, but across the entire...

Multiverse
