Chapter 3: Eliminated

Hours later*

The night at the historic Leadenhall Market is quiet. The market's Victorian architecture features an ornate glass roof and cobbled floors, lighted by the soft glow of streetlights. The usually bustling market is now empty, with the faint sound of distant traffic echoing through the empty spaces.

I check my gear: a Heckler & Koch MP5 submachine gun loaded with silver bullets, a small vial of holy water, and a silver cross around my neck. I have a silver-bladed combat knife strapped to my left thigh and a reinforced Kevlar vest under my tactical jacket. My earpiece is connected to the Hellsing command center, letting me relay information and request backup if needed. Two UV flashbang grenades are clipped to my belt, ready to be used if the vampire tries to flee or hide. I take a deep breath, ready for the hunt.

Once that's done, I begin moving silently through the deserted market. The flickering streetlights provide just enough light to catch glimpses of movement in the shadows. I pause, listening intently and waiting for the echoing whispers to reveal anything. A faint rustling comes from a nearby alley, too intentional to be the wind. I grip my MP5 tighter and move closer, my senses on high alert, ready for whatever might be lurking in the darkness.

"Command, this is Agent Fukui. I've arrived at Leadenhall Market. I'm detecting movement in the north alley, proceeding with caution. Over." I signal my position to the command center. The market is eerily quiet, and my voice sounds loud in the silence of the night. I take a deep breath, scanning the area for any signs of the vampire, and then carefully move toward the alley.

A second later, I hear the command center operator's voice crackle in my earpiece, "Copy that, Agent Fukui. Backup is on standby. Proceed with extreme caution. Over."

"Understood. Fukui out."

I cautiously approach the alley entrance, ready for whatever might lurk in the shadows. If it's the vampire, it would make things easier, saving time and effort in locating it before sunrise.

"Vampire up ahead." The echo whispers faintly just before I cautiously step into the darkened alley.

I immediately grabbed one of the two UV flashbang grenades and threw it. The explosion of blinding light caused something to hiss loudly in pain from the depths of the alley, and then a shadowy figure rushed out into the dimly lit market.

Seizing the moment, I open fire with my MP5, the silver bullets tearing into the vampire's flesh. The creature of the night lunges at me, but I swiftly step aside and draw my silver knife. With a quick, precise slash across its throat, I weaken the vampire further, causing it to stagger back in pain.

In its final moments, the vampire desperately tries to escape, but I won't let it escape. I instantly switch to the Card of Twilight Giant, gaining new abilities. With a precise kick to the back of its left knee, the vampire drops to one knee. I quickly grab the vial of holy water and pour it over the vampire. Its agonized screams fill the quiet market as it crumbles into ash before me.

I watch as the last remains of the vampire vanish into the night. Afterward, I switch back to the Card of Wheel of Fortune. I tap the earpiece again to contact the command center.

"Command, this is Agent Fukui. Target neutralized. I repeat, the target neutralized. No further threats were detected in the vicinity. Over." I report into my earpiece, scanning the area cautiously while awaiting a response from headquarters.

"Excellent work, Agent Fukui. Confirming target elimination. Begin searching the area further for any potential hidden vampires and then return to base. Over."

"Copy that, command. Beginning sweep now. Agent Fukui out." I confirm through the earpiece. I start moving to check the empty streets, carefully inspecting every nook and cranny for any signs of lingering danger. After ensuring the area is secure, I rendezvous at the front entrance, making doubly sure there are no other vampires hiding nearby. Satisfied with my thorough search, I prepare to head back to one of Hellsing's nearby bases, ready to rest after a successful mission.

A few hours later*

Back from the job and picked up by Walter, I find myself once more in Integra's office.

"So... how do you guys know for sure I have taken down the vampire?" I ask Integra, leaning forward slightly in my chair, eager to hear her response.

"We have military binoculars." Integra said simply, leaning back in her chair. "We already have people stationed nearby watching you from a distance. Great work, by the way. You handled that vampire better than I thought." She gave an approving nod, her eyes studying me with a hint of satisfaction.

"Thanks. Now what?" I asked, glancing around to see if I could spot Alucard. It seemed he wasn't there. At least he wasn't visible to the physical eye, and the echo whispers weren't saying anything at the moment. Nor did I see him in any of the hazy future visions I could briefly glimpse.

"Now? You can rest until I need you to do anything else. Now that I know you can take down recently changed vampires without any problems, I would suggest you take this chance to look around the castle. However, I bet you would rather go to bed now." Integra replied calmly, her eyes softening slightly.

"Yeah, sleep sounds great." Surprisingly, I yawned precisely at that moment since I didn't feel that tired. Maybe being a Beyonder of two Pathways made me feel like I could stay awake a bit longer. As I stretched, I noticed Integra drinking a cup, from what I could smell, coffee. "What about yourself, Integra? Are you not going to sleep anytime soon? It's like 9 PM by now."

"I will in a few hours from now." Integra replied. She opened the drawer on her right, pulled out a cigar and a lighter, and lit the cigar, placing it between her lips. The rich scent of tobacco filled the room as she took a slow drag, exhaling a plume of smoke that curled lazily toward the ceiling. The soft glow from the cigar's tip cast a warm light on her face.

"Well, if you need me, please send someone other than the guy who 'picked me up' and 'woke me up'." I said dryly, getting up from my seat. I stretched slightly, feeling the tension of the night's events start to fade. With a final glance at Integra, who was now comfortably smoking her cigar, I turned and headed towards the door, ready to go to my assigned bedroom and finally get some rest.

"Noted." Integra answered, her voice steady and composed. I gave a slight nod before closing the door behind me, leaving her to her thoughts.

20 minutes later*

I lay in bed, looking around at the neatly arranged furniture and the soft glow of the bedside lamp. I wonder if there is anything else I should work on before I sleep. My mind races with thoughts of the mission, but the comfort of the room starts to make me feel drowsy.

I snap my fingers, remembering one important thing, and quickly switch to the Card of Twilight Giant. As I activate its powers, a surge of energy flows through me, enhancing my senses and strength. I close my eyes briefly, focusing on the abilities it grants me—mainly the Martial Arts Master.

Even though I don't have all my memories, I still have various sources of entertainment to work with.

Now, let's see if this works...

I close my eyes, delving deep into the Twilight Giant's Martial Arts Master ability. In my mind, I carefully reconstructed various martial arts techniques inspired by fictional works. I concentrate intensely, curious to see if I can manifest these martial arts through the power of the Twilight Giant while I sleep.

Slowly, I drifted off to sleep, yet I could feel the Card of Twilight Giant becoming increasingly active.

The next day*

I yawned while stretching my stiff muscles, feeling satisfied after testing out a few martial arts I had recreated through the Card of Twilight Giant during my sleep last night in the bedroom without breaking anything.

Talk about being overpowered. It's mind-boggling to think I can recreate and master martial arts without the need for physical practice.

Suddenly, I hear shouting and the distinct sound of gunfire echoing in the distance.

I quickly rush out, harnessing the energy produced by the Card of Twilight Giant, which amplifies effects similar to Ki Energy. Using a swift movement technique, I increase my speed as I navigate toward the hallways leading to the third floor, where Integra is likely using the meeting room. However, as I attempt to ascend from the first floor, I unexpectedly come across a group of soldiers—undead soldiers, judging by their dead appearance and relentless advance with all kinds of fatal injuries that should killed them long ago.

Each undead soldier is clad in military uniforms, including a helm and mask. They are armed with riot shields and submachine guns, their determined advance echoing down the corridor.

Leading these undead soldiers is a man with dark skin, amber eyes, and dark hair. He wears a commanding figure in a dark blue high-collared jacket and matching pants with white trim. His attire includes white gloves and a dark blue cap decorated with a notable white-and-gold eye design on the front. Notably, his face has multiple gold piercings: several in each ear, his nose, eyebrow, and cheek, and two on his lower lip, adding to his imposing presence.

"Hey, look! We found someone who just arrived!" The leader of the undead soldiers shouted in excitement, his voice echoing down the corridor with creepy passion. "Let's blow this fool's head off!"

I take a step forward just as the undead soldiers take aim at me. Then, with a burst of speed, I appear among the undead soldiers, having already launched multiple strikes before anyone could react. Each strike seems to materialize out of nowhere as if delivered by an invisible attacker in the eyes of the leader of the undead soldiers.

"What the fuck?!" The leader of the now-destroyed undead soldiers yelled in shock, his voice echoing with disbelief through the corridor scattered with fallen bodies.

I swing my right arm downward like an actual whip, the force of the blow shattering the guy's head and ending his life instantly. His body slumps to the ground, the corridor now silent.

Well, now that's over with. I better head over to Integra's location in case Alucard and Walter aren't there to protect her. Also, that reminds me: Has Seras already been turned into a vampire by Alucard? I haven't caught a glimpse of her since I arrived.

I resume running swiftly toward Integra's current location on the third floor, my footsteps echoing in the quiet corridors of the Hellsing headquarters.

I glance behind me briefly, a sense of satisfaction washing over me as I reflect on how effortlessly I killed those undead soldiers using the martial arts of the Sun-Woo Clan. Then again, it's not Ki Energy I'm using, but Beyonder Energy, as I named it just now.

Once again, I silently thank whoever gave me the Cards of Blasphemy. However, this is just the beginning. The Card of Twilight Giant is still at Sequence 9, the very bottom and beginning. Not to mention, I have yet to work on the other Cards of Blasphemy.

However, I wonder how I would fare against Alucard once I unlock the other Cards of Blasphemy or if I need to advance to the next Sequence. Maybe not too well, considering how Walter faced Alucard in the canon timeline, even though he lost in the end.
