Chapter 34: Chapter 34: Breaking the News
Azra sat on the couch, her fingers nervously tapping on the armrest. It was late afternoon, and the apartment was quiet, save for the sound of Rahma moving about in the kitchen. Azra had been looking forward to telling her best friend about the upcoming trip, but now that the moment was here, her nerves were getting the best of her. She had planned it all out in her head, but now that she was face to face with Rahma, she was unsure of how to begin.
Rahma appeared in the doorway, carrying two mugs of tea, her face bright with curiosity. "You're all quiet today. What's going on? You've got that look—like you're about to tell me something big."
Azra smiled nervously, taking a sip of her tea. "Yeah, I've been meaning to tell you something... but I'm not sure how you'll take it."
Rahma raised an eyebrow and sat down beside her. "Azra, you're acting weird. Just spit it out. What's going on?"
Azra let out a slow breath, gathering her thoughts. "So... you know how I've been feeling really burnt out lately, right? With work, life... everything? I just... needed a break."
Rahma nodded, clearly understanding. "I get it. You've been on overdrive. So what's this about?"
Azra hesitated for a moment, then looked Rahma in the eye. "I've decided to take a trip. Yuzarsif and I are going to Hawaii for a few days."
Rahma blinked, processing the words. Her face slowly morphed into a look of shock. "Wait, wait—Hawaii? Like... a real trip? To Hawaii? You and Yuzarsif? Just like that?"
Azra chuckled at Rahma's astonished expression. "Yeah. I know it's sudden, but it feels right. Yuzarsif suggested it a few days ago, and... well, here we are."
Rahma's mouth hung open as she shook her head, still processing the news. "I can't believe it. You're just going to... hop on a plane and go to Hawaii with him? No plans, no stress, just... a vacation?"
Azra nodded, feeling a rush of excitement herself. "Exactly. It's spontaneous, and I've never done anything like this before. I'm a little nervous, but also... I think it's exactly what I need. A change of scenery, some time to just relax and recharge."
Rahma leaned back, her eyes wide with disbelief. "Azra, this is huge. I mean, I'm so happy for you! This sounds like the perfect escape. But... wait, how did this happen? I didn't even know you were thinking about getting away."
Azra laughed softly, feeling a bit sheepish. "I wasn't planning on it at all, but Yuzarsif just kind of brought it up one day. At first, I thought he was joking, but then we talked about it seriously, and it just felt like the right thing to do. So... yeah, we're leaving in a few days."
Rahma's face lit up, a wide grin spreading across her face. "Okay, now I'm excited for you! I mean, you deserve it, Azra. You've been working so hard. A beach, sunshine, no deadlines—just pure relaxation. Hawaii? You're going to love it."
Azra felt a sense of relief wash over her as Rahma's excitement mirrored her own. She had been worried about how her friend would react, but seeing her happiness made everything feel easier. "I know, right? I'm already picturing the beaches. The sun, the food... it's going to be amazing."
Rahma leaned in, her eyes sparkling. "This is what you need. Get out of this apartment, get away from everything, and just... be. And don't forget, you have to send me tons of pictures, okay?"
Azra laughed, already imagining herself lounging on a beach with Yuzarsif, feeling free of the weight of responsibilities for a few days. "You'll get all the pictures. Don't worry."
Rahma raised her mug in a toast. "Here's to new adventures and spontaneous trips! I'm so happy for you, Azra. And hey, maybe when you get back, you can tell me all about it. I'll need all the details."
Azra smiled, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. "I'll make sure to tell you everything. Thanks for being so supportive, Rahma. It means a lot."
"Of course," Rahma replied. "Now, go enjoy the trip! You've earned it."

A Few Days Later...
The airport was bustling with energy as travelers moved through the terminals. Azra and Yuzarsif stood side by side, their bags packed and ready, their excitement palpable. Azra couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves mixed with anticipation. This trip felt like the start of something new—something refreshing.
Yuzarsif, always calm and composed, glanced over at Azra. "Ready for this?"
Azra nodded, her smile wide. "Yeah, it's really happening, huh? Hawaii, here we come."
Yuzarsif chuckled, adjusting his sunglasses. "I told you it would be worth it. A little break from everything, just for us."
Azra felt a sense of liberation in his words. For the first time in a long while, she was stepping away from her routine, embracing something spontaneous and carefree. And she was doing it with Yuzarsif, someone she trusted and enjoyed being around.
As they walked toward their gate, Azra looked over at Yuzarsif, her voice soft. "I can't believe it's finally happening. I'm glad I'm doing this."
"You won't regret it," he said with a reassuring smile. "Now, let's make the most of it."
Together, they boarded the plane, the excitement of the unknown filling the air as they prepared to embark on their tropical adventure.
