Behemoth Just Lives an Ordinary Life

1 - Behemoth

As a child, my eyes would sparkle whenever I watched videos of giant monsters.
Giant monsters create fear and intimidation, but they also subtly stimulate human fantasies.
The overwhelming power that can devastate cities, or the cool appearance modeled after dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period.
I’m probably not the only one who thinks this.
The popularity of giant monsters as beings has been proven through countless animations and movies.
Some giant monsters were even more popular than the main characters, and among them, some were made into protagonists with series released every few years.
Why do giant monsters stimulate men’s fantasies?
They’re just evil villains who smash cities and torment the protagonists.
Although I’m not a monster maniac, I’ve seriously contemplated this once.
The conclusion I reached was:
“So big, so cool.”
However, even if giant monsters are cool and awesome beings, one doesn’t feel the desire to become one like an admired athlete.
No matter how big and cool giant monsters are, I wouldn’t want to experience that life firsthand.
“We have no hope. No future either. All life ends here.”
“Even the Swordmaster’s blade can’t penetrate those thick scales. Damn, even those who stand at the pinnacle of humanity are nothing but weak creatures to that supreme being!”
Which can never be pierced by the knights’ swords.
“He is an inescapable, unbreakable destroyer.”
“The Terminator of all things, is he the Great Cataclysm?”
“I guess I’ll be someone who witnesses the end of the world firsthand…”
Feared by the Tower Masters who lead the seven Magic Towers.
I especially wouldn’t want to experience the life of the mighty Behemoth who could devour even Mount Tai.
I was a modest citizen who liked extremely ordinary things.
Even after being reincarnated as a giant monster, I just lived an extremely ordinary life in the mountains.
How did things get so complicated?
People used to say that human life is unpredictable even a step ahead, that human life is the greatest mystery.
But in my opinion,
A monster’s life seems even harder to predict.

If there’s one advantage a monster’s body has over a human’s, it’s that sleeping on a cold stone floor doesn’t make your face go numb.
As I got up and stretched, a small vibration—kugung—occurred in the cave.
A water droplet from the ceiling hit my scales with a light tap.
Looking at the stalactite that dropped the cold water, I let out a deep sigh.
“So it wasn’t a dream after all…”
A monster’s voice that made knees weaken, incomparable to a tiger’s roar, echoed throughout the cave.
In the gloomy cave lives one giant monster.
This giant monster is covered in black scales all over its body and weighs 8 tons.
Its height is about 5m, which is similar to the height of the second floor of an apartment building.
It might seem somewhat lacking to be called a giant monster, but on nights with a full moon, it grows more than 30 times larger, so by my standards, it is indeed a giant monster.
If someone were to ask how I know so much about that giant monster, I would say this:
That monster is me, you bastard.
I’ve jokingly wished to be reborn as a pretty and cute beautiful girl in my next life, or as a handsome man who owns several buildings in Seoul’s Gangnam district.
Even though my wish was nearly impossible, to be reincarnated as a reptilian monster that could easily devour 200 cute girls and handsome men a day?
This is honestly too much…
After denying the reality of becoming a monster and hiding in the cave for a week, I had no choice but to accept it now.
Growl—
A loud sound came from my stomach.
It was as loud as a ship’s horn.
The cave was cool and cold, and there was nothing around, making it an incredibly boring place.
Even a hikikomori has a friend called a computer, but I had nothing.
Just sleeping has its limits, and if this continues, I might go crazy and become a giant monster that invades Earth.
I’ll pass on the future of being defeated by a superhero.
I don’t know where this place is or why I ended up like this, but.
“Let’s try to live like a human for now…”
Even though I’ve become a monster, I haven’t lost my human dignity.
I’m just a bit bigger, but I still have ten fingers when I put my hands together, and I can speak like this, can’t I?
“Alright.”
First, let’s fill this hungry stomach.
Instead of this dark and damp cave, let’s get some sun in a sunny spot, feel the breeze, and meet people if possible.
So I went outside the cave.

A giant bird that can block the sun just by spreading its wings, the king of all birds.
God called it Ziz.
Ziz’s ankles touch the ground, and Ziz’s head reaches the sky.
Ziz’s eggs are as huge as Ziz itself, and it takes a swordsman’s sword 7 years to scratch across Ziz’s egg completely, and when Ziz’s egg breaks, the water that comes out causes a flood that sweeps across 60 cities.
If Ziz is the king of all birds, Leviathan is the king of all sea creatures.
The great seven-headed dragon Leviathan.
Its size was comparable to Ziz.
Every time Leviathan swims, the sea water overflows, becoming a tsunami that pours into cities, and all the whales and sharks in that tsunami devoured everything in the world.
God created three beasts of calamity to destroy the world in anger.
Among them, the foremost is Behemoth.
Behold, that Behemoth.
That form grazing the earth like a bull, God created it when He created you.
Look at that sturdy waist, see that strength stretching from the belly.
That tail stretched like a giant snake, those thick legs as tall as the highest and largest tower.
Bones like steel pipes, ribs like iron bars.
A dragon walking on earth covered entirely in black steel.
That is Behemoth.
It is God’s first display of craftsmanship. Created to destroy everything.
Unmoved even when covered by a tsunami, calm even when lava from a volcano pours into its mouth.
Who could stop Behemoth?
-From “The End”

The wizards of the Neck Magic Tower located in the Great Gehenna Forest couldn’t sleep for three days.
They always had busy days as they were given the important role by the Helios Empire to monitor the Ain people who settled in the Great Forest and to understand the ecology of the monsters located there, but this time it was because suspicious activities had been detected in the Great Forest.
“Where on earth is the source of the mana explosion!”
“The monsters captured for sampling are going wild with fear!”
“What the hell is the search team doing! Despite such a huge wave, they still haven’t found the cause!”
A week ago, a massive mana explosion hit the Neck Magic Tower.
A mana explosion was an invisible disaster.
It was a terrifying phenomenon that neutralized magic circles and magical tools, and brought harm of “nullification” to all creatures designed and created by wizards.
The barrier installed at the boundary between the Great Forest and the Empire collapsed, and monsters began to invade the Empire’s territory, causing damage to start occurring.
The collapse of the Gehenna Great Forest management system that the Neck Magic Tower had built over about 150 years.
The Empire held them accountable for this, and other Magic Towers rushed to support the Neck Magic Tower to clean up this disaster.
While the wizards in the tower were busy dealing with the damage caused by the mana explosion,
The Master of the Neck Magic Tower was quietly reading a book in his office.
-The End
A prophecy book left by the 7th tier Grand Wizard Aintz, who was a great sage, prophet, and his master.
The master secretly passed on the prophecy book to the Neck Tower Master before his death.
“We must always be prepared for disaster. Do you understand? The gods are never friendly to us. God will one day turn a blade against us humans who have come closer to the truth, and when that time comes, humanity will either kill the gods, accept the end, or stand at a crossroads.”
The dying words left by the master to the Neck Tower Master.
“We must prepare to kill the gods. Although your status was lowly and you lived as a slave until you met me, your talent is superior to that of any wizard. I can trust and entrust this to you. Please protect humanity from disaster.”
The Neck Tower Master recalled the moment his master died and was lost in thought.
‘Has the precursor to the disaster that the master spoke of occurred?’
A mana explosion is not a phenomenon that can be artificially induced.
It was just a phenomenon that was only conceptually presented in academic circles, theoretically something that could happen ‘with an extremely astronomical probability.’
When a concept with mana becomes a reality from nothing, a massive mana overflow occurs along with materialization.
This is similar to the birth of monsters, but even when the dragon, considered the most powerful among monsters, is born, no mana explosion occurs.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that this mana explosion was the first to occur since humanity left its footprint on this earth. If so, the ‘birth of the beast of calamity’ written in the master’s prophecy book is likely.
“Aileen.”
“Yes.”
Aileen, who was standing beside the Neck Tower Master, responded.
She was his assistant and secretary, and the person the Neck Tower Master could trust the most.
“Who has the best nose in the Empire?”
Aileen realized the Neck Tower Master’s intention and slowly nodded.
“I will request assistance from the Rangers immediately.”
The Neck Tower Master looked out the window.
He had a bad feeling.
It seemed as if he could see a future where humanity might perish.
