Becoming the Strongest as a Game Dev

Chapter 80: Chapter 80

I enter the simulation and find myself in a dreary cemetery. Tombstones dot the landscape, their weathered surfaces a testament to the passage of time. Skeletal trees loom overhead, their bare branches reaching up to the gloomy, rain-filled sky.

I notice my body is transparent, a clear sign that this is one of the cutscenes the Developers have made. As I look around, I see two unfamiliar figures come into view. A short, stout man stands beside me, his suit and trench coat slightly rumpled, giving him a disheveled appearance. Next to him is a tall, elegant woman, her white nun's habit impeccably tailored, conveying a sense of grace and poise.

The nun is reading the bible, praying for the casket in front of her. Someone must have died. I guess the person inside the casket is connected to the short man.

"It looks like Humpty Dumpty's taken his last fall. Even old Eggman the Destroyer gets scrambled in the end, right?" the short man says, glancing at the casket. "You know, I still don't get why the hell you drag me out here for these things. I just drop off the merchandise."

I guess the short man is not friends with the dead person.

I remain silent, my eyes fixed on the nun praying over the casket. The short man continues, "Hey, bet you can't guess what today is?"

The nun, engrossed in her scripture, pays him little attention. The short man shakes his head, undeterred. "Readin' the good Lord's book ain't gonna do much. People been waiting for this asshole to get whacked for ages. Hell, look around. There's no love lost for old Humpty Dumpty."

"But you gotta keep the outfit happy. We don't take care of him, they take care of us, and I prefer my shoes made out of rubber, not concrete. But hey, it's that kinda town. Without good hearted souls like us to put these bastards six feet under, where'd society be? Course, the pay's not bad either."

I watch the short, disheveled man ramble on as the nun continues praying.

"Jesus, you really get into this shit, dontcha? If it were me, I'd be praying he ends up barbecue... Or at least sunny side up!" He shakes his head, his voice laced with a mocking tone. "You can keep praying, but the only way this guy's meeting the Lord is if God's hungry for breakfast!"

I remain silent, my gaze fixed on the nun as she continues her prayers. There is something interesting about her. "Speaking of hungry, we done here? My kids are baking me a birthday cake tonight. Cute little fuckers, I tell ya what..." He turns to leave, tossing a dismissive "Adios!" over his shoulder as he goes.

The short, disheveled man was just about to take his leave when a brilliant, angelic light suddenly illuminated the area. The radiance was truly breathtaking, casting a serene glow over the dreary cemetery. But when I glanced at the man, I noticed a distinct look of fear etched across his features. Whatever this light was, it seemed to have unsettled him.

"What the fuck!? They're here!? For this douchebag!?"

He starts hiding behind tombstones in fear.

"Aah! I hate this damn light! I can't see a thing! But they're there... Ain't they!? You hearin' me!? You can see them, can't you!?"

"I see them. They are instruments of God, descending upon his heavenly rays to Earth," the nun says, her voice solemn and reverent.

The short man's face pales, his eyes widening in fear. "Oh... My... God..." he stammers, his usual bravado replaced by a palpable sense of dread.

What is happening? Is something coming?

I watch as the nun draws a symbol in the air and then leaps into it. The world around us seems to shift, as if we've entered a different realm.

I watch in silent awe as a brilliant, golden figure descends from the heavens, its wings shimmering with divine light. The creature's form is graceful and imposing, clad in ornate armor that seems to radiate an otherworldly energy. Its face is partially obscured by a serene, angelic mask.

I've never encountered anything like this before, and a part of me is both fascinated and unsettled by its arrival.

I watch, transfixed, as the nun leaps into the air, her white habit flowing gracefully. With fluid, powerful movements, she engages the angelic figures, her limbs a blur as she punches and kicks them to the ground.

"You look tired. Let me tuck you in."

The angels attempt to coordinate their attacks, but the nun's skill and agility prove superior. She dances between them, evading their strikes with effortless grace.

Impressive. This nun possesses remarkable skill. Her combat prowess is evident. Curiosity stirs within me, drawn by this unexpected display.

The short man is trying to stay out of the battle, hiding behind tombstones for cover.

"Oh shit! C'mon! It's my frickin' birthday! Mother of Mary! I didn't mean all that Humpty Dumpty shit, I swear!"

The angels approach the casket. When a sudden burst of energy comes from it, opening the casket. Inside, a man stood tall and broad-shouldered, with an imposing physique that exudes power. He is bald and clean-shaven, his face stern yet relaxed, framed by a pair of angular sunglasses that conceal his piercing eyes. Despite his casual demeanor, there is an air of authority and confidence about him. He is impeccably dressed in a red pinstripe suit with a matching shirt and tie. An intimidating red eye could be seen behind his shades, which gives a haunting appearance.

"Next time you wanna lay hands on me, you better make sure I'm dead."

I could tell the man was no ordinary person. Even the angels, those divine beings, were backing away from him in fear. His mere presence seemed to command authority and power.

"Now move out the way. Go!!!" he roared, his voice booming with such force that it made the angels scatter and flee in haste. They clearly recognized the threat he posed and dared not challenge him further.

The short, disheveled man seemed to recognize the imposing figure. "Ro-Ro-Rodin?" he stammered, his voice laced with a hint of fear.

The tall, broad-shouldered man responded in a calm, authoritative tone. "If it ain't my good buddy, Enzo. How bout you get outta here? You die, and I'm gonna have to go back in that hole chasin' after the money you owe me." His words carried a clear warning, suggesting a history between the two men that was not entirely amicable.

The nun is still engaged in fierce combat with the angels, her movements graceful yet powerful. She lines them up like a train, taunting them with a mocking tone.

"Do you naughty little angels deserve a good spanking?" With a sudden burst of strength, she lifts the end of the formation and suplexes the entire group of angels, sending them crashing to the ground.

Rodin watches the display, his expression one of appreciation. "Beautiful," he murmurs, clearly impressed by the nun's skill.

The nun's white habit is slashed by the angels, revealing her graceful movements as she discards the tattered fabric. In a captivating display, her long, dark hair flows and weaves around her body, forming a sleek, fitted outfit. The intricate silver filigree and red accents accentuate her statuesque figure, exuding an aura of mystery and power.

Music starts playing from the background, which makes the scene more impactful. [Music: Fly Me To The Moon (Climax)]

"Bayonetta!" Rodin tosses the pistols to Bayonetta. She catches them effortlessly and unleashes a barrage of shots at the angels. Her movements are brutal yet elegant, a deadly dance of destruction.

"Now this is cheeky, throwing me these cheap toys!"

"Don't worry about quality. I've got quantity!"

Rodin tosses more weapons to Bayonetta. She snatches them up, wielding the guns in her hands and feet as she unleashes a barrage of shots at the angels. Her movements are a captivating blend of brutality and elegance, effortlessly evading their attacks with a graceful dance.

"Guns!" her guns break, and Rodin has to give her more.

"Guns!"

"Guns!"

"Guns!"

Rodin throws the last pair at Bayonetta. "That was your last call. No more shots from me, Bayonetta!"

I watch, transfixed, as Bayonetta effortlessly dispatches the remaining angels. She lands on a row of tombstones, striking a dramatic pose like a true diva.

"As long as there's music, I'll keep on dancing."

More angels arrive, and my vision shifts. Suddenly, I find myself in Bayonetta's body. A surge of excitement rushes through me as I ready myself to confront the angels. Bayonetta's power and grace flow through me, and I can't wait to put her skills to the test.
