BECOMING GODS

Chapter two.

The alpha sat by himself for hours outside thinking about that day, he could still remember that day Like it happened yesterday.

Eighteen years ago

The alpha spent the last hours with his wife, he didn't sleep he didn't eat, and he didn't even go to meet his daughter, he was devastated.

He felt useless and powerless as he held his wife in his arms on the bed. She was getting weaker every second. Her heart rate was reduced, her breaths were becoming shallow, and she could hardly open her eyes but she still had a smile.

The pale queen tightens her grip, squeezing her husband's hand gently, and he in return kisses her blue lips. 

" My love" The queen started in a weak voice, his luxurious white hair that used to glow was now turning mostly brown, just like her daughters.

" I do not regret anything I did in this life," she said, her husband kissed her hand, he knew this was going to be the last thing she said to him.

" I do not regret mating you, or loving you, or being here, or even risking my life for my child" his grip on her hands tightened.

" I want you to promise me something" he nodded not being able to voice any word.

" Promise me that you will always love and protect our baby" 

" I promise to protect her till my last breath" he promised her.

" Don't ever make her feel less than, train her for the journey ahead because I know it's going to be rough, remind her always of our love for her, always tell her that I would always love her, give her this....." 

The queen raised her shaky hands to her neck, she unclasped her necklace, it was a silver necklace with a wolf pendant, and the wolf pendant looked like it was alive.

" On her eighteenth birthday ok" she placed the necklace on his hand, and he nodded determined.

" I know you would take care of our baby, now I can go, but I want to see her one last time" The alpha immediately signaled the guard and he left with a nod.

Minutes later the baby was brought, wrapped in pink clothes with her arms tucked in, she was asleep.

The queen took her daughter causing her to wake up, the baby smiled up at her in assurance, and the queen smiled weakly and kissed her head, she gave the baby to her father before resting.

" I love you," she said with difficulty, holding the baby drained all her energy, the king held his baby in his hand and looked out the window, the sun was almost up, its head was already peeking from the cloud, the king at that moment hated the sun.

The queen's body shook as she started coughing, the cough started mildly at first until it grew worse, she started coughing up black blood, her breath heaving, and she couldn't breathe.

The king panicked, and the healer ran into the room ushering the king out, he left reluctantly with his baby in his arms.

Before he touched the door the coughing stopped, he turned back to his wife's bed and saw that she was not moving nor breathing either, the black veins were all over her body making her look unearthly.

The queen was dead. 

The king did not have time to wail, the was a loud noise outside the palace, and a guard came running

" Alpha! We're under attack, beta Jordan, he's a traitor" the guard said heaving badly from all the running and shouting.

Everybody in the room pitied the alpha, he not only lost his wife but now his park.

 "Let's go-" the alpha was cut short by his most the guard.

" No alpha, you just had your daughter, the enemies are too strong, they have already taken over with the help of the witches, you have to live remember?" The guard had always admired the alpha, he was ready to lay his life for the alpha and his daughter.

While the alpha thought of it the baby's clothes were already packed alongside some food.

" Alpha, you have to go, live for not just yourself but for your daughter" the guard pleaded, the alpha looked at the others, and everyone including the leader nodded in agreement.

" We know you would come back for us no matter how long it takes we would wait" The guard picked up the bag and held the king, carefully dragging him towards his study.

" Wait use my wife's -"

" Yes her special bag yes" A small bag was handed to the king, it was a bag given to the queen's grandmother, no matter what you put in the bag it would never be full, you could neither see nor touch the bottom of the bag.

The king carefully placed his wife's necklace inside the bag before taking it. In the study was a large shelf, the shelf was pushed aside revealing a door.

" come with me," the alpha said to the guard.

" No alpha I have to" he looked away from the alpha, hiding the fear in his eyes.

" It's an order, please," the alpha said. The guard nodded determined. The king places his daughter in the hands of a maid close by and started running around his study gathering all his valuable,

He hid all important files in a volt only the alpha and Luna knew how to open, he took all the money and with the help of the maid poured the money into the bag, he put some in another volt and showed the maid the code, the money was for the people that helped him escape.

When he was done the guard came with his belongings in a big bag.

" Let's go alpha there almost inside the house," the guard said, the alpha nodded, took his baby from the maid and they both left, without looking back.

" Where is the baby!" Jordan shouted angrily at the shaking maids.

" We don't know, the alpha and the baby are already gone" one of the maids replied bravely, she wasn't scared of death, the alpha had been good to her, and this was her chance to repay him.

" This wouldn't have happened if you imbecile would do your job well" he screamed at everyone, all the maids scurried back in fear.

He took in a deep breath when he felt his blood rising, and relaxed back on his chair, thinking.

" Master Jordan, we searched the whole house, but no sign of the alpha, the others have already gone to search the perimeter, we would find him" Jordan relaxed his back in the chair and tapped his unusually long fingernails on the chair.

" Where is Fred" 

" Gone master" a large smile crept into Jordan's face.

" Good" 

" Sire!" A man shouted running into the throne room, his face was pale and sweaty Like he had seen a ghost, his legs were shaking badly, 

" What is it?" Jordan asked in irritation, the man's leg gave up, and he crumbled to his knees in fear of what the master would do.

" It's gone-" 

" WHAT!" ...
