chapter 29
29 – Confession
“The curfew is 10 o’clock. You must come to the dormitory, okay?”
Karina, the head of the dormitory with a high-pitched voice, fixed her glasses and handed her a pass with the girl’s name on it.
The young lady, who had changed into neat and stylish clothes instead of her tattered clothes from fighting Nefeli, bowed her head lightly as she said thank you as she was handed her pass.
On the way to the main gate of the academy, an awkward air flow flowed between the lady and me, not knowing what to say.
I felt that the young lady’s soft cheeks were still on her lips, so I touched her lips.
On the night of Sir Gliese’s funeral, unlike the time when the lady and I comforted each other and kissed each other on the cheek, my age and body had matured.
Why did someone ask for a kiss on the cheek if he knew what that act meant? Seeing that she was referring to the past, did she think of the past? I think you’re just too upset after that…
She caught the girl in front of her when she almost fell, as if she hadn’t noticed her stone beak sticking out deeply.
“Be careful, young lady.”
I turned round and the young lady fell into my arms. I wonder what she was thinking. The girl who was holding her without any resistance belatedly noticed her and was taken aback.
“Gwa, it’s okay, can you let me go?”
“And lady, did you wear perfume?”
The smell of perfume that I smelled from the lady for the first time stung my nose. The scent was so strong that I almost sneezed out.
“Yeah, I was sweating a while ago and I’m leaving the academy…So I sprayed it on. Does it…Tear a lot?”
“It smells a bit strong…Sprayed by old ladies…Aww!”
The young lady fell from my arms and kicked her in the shin. He hit her so hard that it hurt so much that her tears ran out.
“I’m just teasing you all the time and it’s mean. It’s really annoying.”
Holding onto her aching shin, the young lady walked toward her front door. As she was walking she saw me and stuck her tongue out and then she moved forward again.
I chased after the girl, holding on to my still sore shin, and followed her with my feet.
Evil! It really hurts!
#
After getting my pass checked by the soldiers at the front gate, I came out of the academy and Sirius followed me behind me. I was worried that his shin, which I had kicked off in a fit of anger, would still hurt, but I also hated him for playing pranks with me every day.
Today, I decided to spray the perfume for the first time, but I didn’t know how much to spray, so I sprayed a little too much. But it’s too much to say that the noblewoman sprayed it.
“Looks like they’re selling yakitori over there. Would you like a quick bite before dinner?”
As if to relieve my anger, he pointed to a yakitori restaurant and said, It was dinner time without eating anything after lunch. I was hungry, but the chicken skewers…
“…I’m going to have dinner later. What should I eat?”
I said it coldly, but he continued pointing at other buildings, undeterred by my answer.
“Over there, the smithy is where I bought the sword the lady used today. The owner gave me a cheap price, so it’s okay.”
“Writing now is enough.”
“This is the clothing store I stopped by last time. Shouldn’t I buy one instead of those tattered clothes?”
“The clothes are too flashy over there. I want to go to a place that sells plain clothes.”
“The cafe over there seemed nice. I didn’t drink coffee, but I was with you…”
“Together? With whom?”
As I inadvertently turned my head to his words, I saw Sirius who covered his mouth. It was so suspicious to see his hair wet with cold sweat.
“…Ah! I see something opening there, go see it!”
“…Do you want to answer?”
I tried to avert my gaze, but there was no way. Just say it plainly
“Then…I drank with the person who said he helped me the other day. He bought me a drink as a thank you…”
“…Are you a woman?”
“…Yes…”
“What are you doing, you keep getting seduced by women. This…”
I tried to call her a flirt, but I couldn’t. Even though he wasn’t dating with me, it was just a simple master-servant relationship, but I looked stupid for caring about his errands with women.
“…The bad butler.”
In the end, all I had to say was what I always said. The words I say when I can’t even say his name properly because my heart tickles the more I see the face I see every day. Sirius’ shoulders slumped when he heard those words.
“Okay, let’s go wherever you want to go.”
“Yes…”
My heart ached when I saw my drooping shoulders. I don’t want to either… When can I fix it? Can I fix it if I catch up with you?
When we arrived at the place Sirius indicated without a word, several people were holding glasses and drinking. As if it were a competition, I was excited by the joyful atmosphere.
“Looks like a festival.”
“Yeah, that looks interesting.”
Seeing that atmosphere reminded me of the Goyang Festival I spent with him. The second festival in the territory, unforgettable events, and Lord Gliese…
Among the people around me, I was the first to go to the stars. After that day, if I don’t sleep with Sirius, I wake up to see his face in my dreams sometimes.
When I first dreamed of him, I was so scared that I buried my face in a pillow and cried. Sirius was not there, but I had to endure it somehow because of the promise I made.
Even now, if I don’t sleep next to Sirius, he sometimes appears in my dreams. I didn’t cry anymore, but I would wake up clutching his thick chest.
The Sirius who comforted me while I was crying at his funeral was so cool even though I was crying with him, so why did he become so smirking?
Looking at his smiling face, as if he was in a good mood right away, I smiled too. Since you’re smiling, I feel good too.
“Huh? Aren’t you Princess Europa?”
As I was looking at his face, an uninvited guest approached. A person with a normal face, neither handsome nor ugly. I don’t know the name, but the person I saw often in fixed classes at Muhak-gwan was acting friendly as if I had run into it a few times.
“Yes… Excuse me, but you…”
“Oh, I’m Yuma Lynx, the eldest son of Viscount Lynx. Did you come to enjoy the festival of the Miss Europa?”
“There was…A festival?”
“Yes, it is said that this event is held every Friday after the entrance ceremony of the academy. Since new students come, the economy of the market is revitalized…”
Yuma starts talking with no interest. I just need to know what kind of festival it is, but I started adding useless words. Her delusional image of showing off her self-knowledge to show off was clearly visible in her eyes.
Once in a while, I showed only the minimum manners so that no one would hear about my family.
“…So, by the way…Miss Europa, do you have someone to go to the festival with? If you’ll excuse me…”
“I’m sorry. I have a prior appointment, so I’ll go first.”
“Ha…Ha, did you have a promise? I don’t know if you’ve been holding on to your ankles for nothing.”
“No, I had a good time. See you then.”
As I got out of the spot, Sirius quietly approached me and whispered in my ear.
“Looks like you didn’t like it.”
“Yes, of course. They just looked at my family name and thought I was a flower in the greenhouse, so they just pushed me in. From the last welcome ceremony, I noticed people like that.”
“You handled it well. You said you handled it skillfully?”
“What do you think you learned before entering the academy?”
“Ahahahaha, I will.”
“Oh, isn’t that Sirius?”
This time another uninvited guest approached him. A lady a little taller than Sirius and me, wearing an old-fashioned maid outfit, was walking by.
“Ah, this is Alte. What are you doing here?”
Seeing her, her Sirius responded with a more friendly smile than usual. My heart skipped a beat at his kind-looking face.
You only showed that face to me.
“Our Young master said that he had something he needed, so he asked me to buy it and enjoy the festival… Oops! You’re Princess Europa Taurus…?”
“Yes, you are the master I serve.”
Her lady, Alte, who was talking friendly with Sirius, bowed to me and slightly raised the edge of her skirt to show her polite greeting.
“Meet the Twelve Pillars of the Empire, the Taurus Family of Geumwoo Palace.”
“…Yes, yes…Nice to meet you.”
I could only respond coldly to her greeting. Alte raised her head and spoke friendlyly to Sirius.
Where did they meet? Is this the person who helped me and had a drink with me at the cafe? The deeper I thought, the sharper the spear stabbed me in the chest.
Nefeli’s spear didn’t hurt more than this… I secretly tapped my stomach so that the two people wouldn’t see it, as I endured the choking breath.
“Oh my gosh…I don’t know if I’ve been taking up too much time. I’ll be on my way! Have a good time!”
Sirius’ uninvited guest has also left, but the pain in my heart still lingers. I wanted to cry, but not a single tear came from my eyes.
“Lady?”
He asked cautiously as he let me do nothing. So far, I have had a good conversation with a woman I don’t know, and now I’m worried.
“Let’s go. Let’s go see the capital.”
“Okay, let’s go.”
He stretched out his hand with a light smile on his face, as if he didn’t even know what I was thinking. And I stupidly forgot the pain on his face and held his hand.
So we enjoyed the tour of the city and the festival.
When I was eating, I asked the host what kind of ingredients Sirius used for the food I said was delicious, and promised to do it later.
When I went shopping for clothes, Sirius would carry around a lot of clothes and choose them by looking through his eyes to see if they matched my hair color or face.
The strange-looking dessert called cotton candy that Sirius bought before he knew it was so sweet that it melted in his mouth.
It was us who had enjoyed such a long time and returned just in time for curfew. Entering the room, I suddenly came to the door of my room holding his hand.
“Are we going to stay here forever?”
“Yes, is that so? What are you going to do, young lady?”
“Look here. We’re going to stay together, so let’s measure it once a day before vacation.”
I pointed to the door frame and saw Sirius. He nodded and stood upright against the door frame. When I went to get some scorch on the door frame, Sirius untied the ring from his hair and handed it to me.
“Draw with this. It’s hard and will draw well.”
With the ring, he drew a horizontal line through the door frame over Sirius’s head. And as I leaned against the doorframe, Sirius approached and drew.
Seeing that I was about two fingers taller than Sirius, he said a little regretfully.
“I’ll be taller than you later.”
“Yes, I’m still a kid.”
“My lady really…”
Sirius smiles even when he glares at me. Yes, he liked this look. The two of us changed into pajamas and came out to the living room for a while. Sitting close together on the sofa and reading the book Sirius had brought, he fell asleep.
“Lady, a lot happened today. Go to bed.”
I didn’t even yawn, but he must have noticed that I was sleepy and dragged me to the bed. He tried to lie next to me as he always did, so I stopped him.
“I don’t feel sick to my stomach anymore, so it’s okay. I had a hard time sleeping in my bed every day, so I go to my room and sleep. I think I’m going to cry because I feel sad about the bed in your room.”
“Ahahahaha, does the bed cry? But since you’re talking about it, I’ll listen to it. Good night.”
“Okay, good night.”
The lights went off and my tired body quickly fell asleep.
And then I had a dream. I was wandering through the fog, looking for a way. I was alone without Sirius by my side. In the fog, a person approached me.
It was Sir Gliese, pale-faced.
As soon as I saw that face, I woke up. I didn’t have any dreams when Sirius was there, but as soon as he left, he came out like a ghost. I checked the time as I quickly ran away from sleep.
It’s one o’clock in the morning. I sighed because I only slept for about two hours. I came out to the living room, drank a glass of water, and went in, but my eyes went to the door where Sirius was.
When I came to my senses, I was already standing in front of Sirius’ bed with the door carefully open. Sirius is soundly asleep under the blue moonlight shining through the window. He carefully placed his hand on top of his hand that had been pulled out of the blanket.
“Why am I only honest when you sleep?”
A word that came out unintentionally added another word.
“I saw kids my age in class. All of them were stupid and stupid. I’ve never seen anyone as mature as you.”
“It’s been like that since before. You’ve always been a grown-up. Every day when I do something stupid, you sigh and join in.”
“You said you would always be by my side. You must have become so strong to keep that promise…”
I brought out the words that came out of my heart. You won’t hear it anyway, so it’ll be fine.
“Hey, every time I see you, my heart keeps tickling. And I can’t stand this tickling, so I’m sorry for being mean every day.”
I glanced at his face. Even though he said this, he is still sleeping without the world knowing. My butler is vulnerable to sleep. And
“I love you, Sirius.”
He is my precious person.
A word I unknowingly said. But I wasn’t surprised. ‘Cause I just turned away
I brushed back his bangs and kissed his forehead.
“But still let me grumble. I’ll confess properly after I catch up with you.”
Even though I complained so much, the smile did not leave my lips.
I felt like I understood my feelings now.
No, I won’t turn away from my heart anymore.
I love Sirius.
#
Maybe it was because he quickly got used to sleeping next to the lady, he couldn’t sleep and was tossing and turning. The moment I spent the night with my eyes closed, I just pretended to sleep without knowing the lady’s presence.
I heard you holding my hand and talking about it. And…With the words that he likes me, he kissed my forehead and went to his room.
After confirming that the lady had gone, I sat down on the bed and reflected on her words.
And her words and actions made my heart feel torn.
You still don’t know about me yet.
My mouth waters at the sight of blood for some reason. Sirius, the butler of the Taurus family, was a wandering kid chosen by the moon.
There are times when I still feel like a stranger in this world.
Sometime the true owner of my body might come.
But then she likes me, no she loves me.
I’m not ready to receive her love yet.
I can’t love myself because I can’t define myself.
I can’t love her.
“What should I do, Moon?”
I asked the moon with a miserable heart, but the moon, which did not reply, was shining brightly with a blue light today.
