chapter 13
13 – Club (6)
“You made an excellent choice.”
Dongsu, standing next to me while washing his hands in the restroom, remarked.
I looked at him, wondering what he was talking about.
“He’s talking about Serin’s choice.”
Ah.
That’s true.
Actually, there was no choice to speak of.
Rather, I was the one being chosen.
But well.
As long as the result is good, isn’t that what matters?
Dongsu, for some reason, continued to talk incessantly.
“When you performed the Zero Two dance, people were like, ‘Oh?’ but during the cocaine dance, it was more like ‘Wow!,’ wasn’t it?”
Describing it that way.
But, you know, what he said is kind of true.
During the cocaine performance, he stared at me without avoiding eye contact until the end.
At that time, I thought he was completely entranced.
I almost got into an accident.
I washed my face lightly.
Hmm.
I think I’m starting to sober up now.
After pouring four glasses of liquor and drinking them, I felt my mind getting hazy.
No, was it six glasses?
At first, I had one glass, then I went out to the bathroom, and out of the blue, they told me to drink another glass of beer.
But seriously, how strong is this liquor?
It feels extremely potent.
I guess we can’t really check how strong it is by just swirling the bottle around like an amateur.
Compared to that, Dong-soo is really something else.
When I said I was going to the bathroom, Geun-woo and I exchanged glances, and then Dong-soo followed me out.
Why did you let them go?
But once we got outside, there were two men in suits within sight.
They weren’t the only men in suits around, but judging by their movements, it seemed like they were the ones who came instead of Dong-soo and Geun-woo.
Hmm.
I’m sorry.
They’ll probably take care of the bonus themselves, right?
But I didn’t see Director Hwang.
Did he go home?
Or is he hiding somewhere, watching?
I don’t know.
Wiping the moisture off my face, I asked,
“Did Director Hwang Jaeha go home?”
“He’s probably around the neighborhood.”
“Are you sure?”
“As far as I know, he’s still with the branch manager until you go in.”
Really?
No shortage of extreme professions.
“But I’m genuinely curious, do high-ranking corporate managers hang out with club thugs? Or is it just because he’s Director Hwang Jaeha?”
“It’s because he’s Director Hwang.”
“Is that so?”
“Director Hwang Jaeha is different from us.”
Different?
“How?”
“While we just do some exercise and security work, he seems to be someone who gets involved in practical work on the field.”
Wait, what? In the field?
“What’s the deal with Hwang Jaeha?”
Dongsoo replied with a surprised expression when I looked at him with a puzzled look.
“Oh! Actually, I’m not exactly sure. I just heard from other secretaries that he used to be quite famous in the boxing scene. Something about being a heavyweight champion.”
Ah, really?
Is he a man with a dark past?
There was something different about the atmosphere.
Although Dongsoo wasn’t entirely sure, judging by the club thug’s attitude earlier, it didn’t seem like baseless talk.
I did notice a big thug strutting around with an authoritative stance.
Although I became more curious about Director Hwang Jaeha, I should stop here as digging deeper might make Dongsoo uncomfortable.
Shall we change the topic?
“But why are you so articulate? Are you a recreation instructor?”
“If you want to liven up the atmosphere, you have to move a bit, don’t you think?”
“It wasn’t just livening up; it was a creation of the universe. I was at a loss at first about what to do, but thanks to you, I’m having a good time. Thanks, Dongsoo.”
Upon hearing that, Dongsoo’s face lit up with gratitude.
“Oh, no! I’m more thankful for letting me sit here comfortably. To be honest, from our perspective, Director—no, I mean, Hyungnim is quite a challenging person. But now that you’re treating us so casually, it’s hard to figure out how to express…”
“If you’re really grateful, then entertain me more in the future.”
“What?”
I flashed a smile without ulterior motives.
“If you have time, play with me. That’s what I mean.”
Now, Dongsoo’s face was beyond moved; it was filled with deep emotion.
“Hey, just call me! I’ll be on standby at all times!”
Look at those loyal eyes.
Quite appealing.
I should keep them around. They’ll make a reliable ally.
Playfully hiding my true feelings, I asked,
“Do you want to leave work early often?”
“Oh, no! But, don’t we need to dig our positions slowly?”
“Huh? All of a sudden? We’re having so much fun right now.”
Dongsu tilted his head.
“Wouldn’t it be more fun if you leave? Seryn seems to have a look that she won’t let you go home.”
Oh…
Is there such a deep meaning?
I looked at Dongsu with approving eyes.
Then Dongsu chuckled.
“Kunwoo and I will go out first with Ji-eun and Hyo-joo. We should eliminate potential risks, shouldn’t we?”
This, this is it?
Some sort of guys’ night out?
There might be a hint of selfishness for a moment, but it’s just because of the mood, right?
But well.
If Dongsu’s saying it, it seems like a one-night thing.
But don’t you have to experience a one-night stand to understand?
What exactly do you have to say to go out and have a one-night stand?
It’s different between having a good time in your mind and actually going out for a one-night stand, isn’t it?
Ah, how can I-.
Oh, really?
Is there a good way? Is it possible?
“I roughly understand what you mean. Let’s just go in for now.”
“Yes, let’s go in!”
With a slightly restless mind, we entered the room in a hurry.
“Oh! Show me!!”
“It’s not even torn!!”
..?
It was Jieun and Hyoju’s high-pitched voices.
What’s going on here?
The situation was simple.
While Dongsoo and I went to the bathroom, Kyunwoo, who was left alone, seemed awkward and ended up buttoning up his shirt.
Seeing that, Jieun and Hyoju were making a fuss, asking why he was locking the shirt, saying it’s a waste.
…
What the heck.
Isn’t this s*xual harassment?
“Oh~ The guys are here. Hurry, get the drinks!!”
“Seo Woojin is chugging Yankee soju down his throat.”
…It’s chaos.
I momentarily forgot about the atmosphere here as I went to the bathroom with Dongsoo.
Let’s start with a drink.
Gulp! Swallow! ㅡGulp!
“Ppui-ppui-ppui-ppui~.”
Jieun gathered her hands and made a trumpet-blowing motion.
I shook my head slightly and asked Serin.
“Did they try to undress Kuenoo the moment we left?”
“They were initially talking about exercise, and suddenly it turned into that?”
After glancing back and forth between Dongsoo and Kuenoo’s Pacific shoulders, I said.
“If you exercise properly, you get a body like that.”
“Do you like exercising, Oppa? Do you go to the gym?”
I do like exercising.
Thinking back on Seo Woojin’s memories, well?
This guy didn’t particularly exercise.
But it seemed like he controlled his diet, never gaining weight, yet his muscle mass was absolutely minimal.
A gym, huh…
Today is my first day in this alternate reality, so I couldn’t bring myself to cancel the gym membership, could I?
Looking at the siblings’ bodies that seemed about to burst, my desire for exercise surged. I need to quit the gym immediately. Do you go to the gym?
“Yeah~. Lately, I’ve been getting into squats.”
As she said that, Serin suddenly stood up from her seat.
What is she up to…
Huh?
“How about it? Am I impressive?”
Impressive, indeed!
Serin was next to me, striking a squat pose.
Her thighs, which seemed thin, swelled up, and her buttocks were plump and round.
At least it’s okay since I’m beside her.
If it were from the front…
Ahem…
“Wow, you’re really working out hard.”
“Try poking it. Bet your finger will bounce off.”
Really? Seriously?
I can actually poke her?
Fortunately, it wasn’t a quiet situation.
However, it wasn’t so loud that voices couldn’t be heard.
In the time it took me to go to the bathroom, Geunwoo must have adjusted the sounds coming from outside, as only a moderate amount of noise flowed into the room.
Glancing around, Dongsoo was grilling Ji-eun, and Geunwoo was diligently cooking Hyoju, marking his territory.
So, no one had seen this place.
Well, what now?
I managed my expression as best as I could and poked the side of my butt deeply with my finger.
…
F-Firm!!
Serin proudly sat down next to me with a triumphant face.
“Isn’t it amazing? Isn’t it? Isn’t it?”
“Totally amazing. You really worked out properly.”
“If you do 100 squats every day, this is what happens. Oppa, you should quit the gym from tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“We need to repay the debt.”
What debt did I incur?
Before I could say anything, Serin raised her finger.
“We have to get back the value of the poke you just did, right?”
Ugh.
Look at that cute expression.
Her face is so fresh that even such a remark is acceptable.
I really have to start working out from tomorrow.
“Ah! What are you all doing right now!! Can’t you hear this song?”
Hyoju stood up abruptly, shouting.
Until now, we were having a great time with Geunwoo, and when the beat he liked came on, he shouted in excitement.
He already had an empty glass in his hand.
Looks like you just downed another one.
I acknowledge your drinking prowess.
By the way, this beat…
Hmm.
It’s a perfect beat for bobbing your head.
“Oppa, let’s go out and have fun too.”
Serin grabbed my wrist.
As if enchanted, I went outside with her to the window.
“Let’s go!!!”
“Come on! Let’s go go go go!!”
Dongsu and Geunwoo, where on earth do you think you’re going?
Before I knew it, they had their hands on Jieun and Hyoju’s shoulders, dancing in a circle.
And then…
Serin approached with a shy expression.
She turned away slightly when our eyes met.
She pressed her whole body against mine.
Matching the beats booming from the speakers, Serin slid up and down.
…Me, me toooo!!
