chapter 10
10 – 10. Club (3)
It was spacious.
Compared to earlier, when I was squeezed in between people, it felt really spacious.
Above all, a pleasant atmosphere.
I don’t know about the other rooms, but this room definitely felt like a room that the club pays attention to.
There was not a single thing out of place.
There seemed to have been another team here just a moment ago, but they tidied up really well, didn’t they?
But they did ask for permission, right? They asked us to vacate the room.
Hmm.
Is it okay to just ask for permission like that?
But wait.
Is this a gourmet restaurant?
Why are there so many colorful dishes beautifully arranged on the table?
Isn’t this supposed to be a club?
And the colorful things weren’t limited to just appetizers.
There was alcohol.
There were over ten bottles of liquor set up by type.
Are they trying to get us drunk?
The friend of the subtly charming girl looked around the room, her eyes sparkling.
“Wow. This is my first time here.”
Yeah. It’s my first time too.
But I won’t show my surprise.
Why not?
Because I’m inhabiting the body of a conglomerate heir. Ahem.
I’ll be coming to places like this often from now on, so there’s no need to be surprised every time.
I sneakily looked down through the glass floor.
The club’s stage.
When I was on the stage earlier, it felt crowded and suffocating, but looking down from here gave me a distinctly different feeling.
Superiority?
It might be a similar kind of feeling.
Feeling the heat from the stage, listening to the music, and getting into the atmosphere was nice, but looking down at the stage from here gave me a more thrilling sensation.
Sigh.
I want to come here every day.
I want to ask how that guy managed to book this room earlier.
But.
What can I say?
Unlike other men in suits, this man somehow gives off an overwhelming feeling, don’t you think?
I feel like I know roughly what kind of people they are.
As I look down at the stage, a subtly captivating woman approaches me.
“What are you up to?”
“Just watching.”
Ugh.
What a stubborn guy.
He’s responding with short answers again.
He knows this won’t lead to a conversation, so why is he doing this?
Why?
I should have talked to such a pretty girl!
In the case of Secretary Kim Chaeyoon, she is stunning, but due to the relationship between the head and the secretary, the conversation naturally flowed. But now the situation is completely different.
What should I talk about in the first place?
I should turn and speak to him face to face.
“Um… You were quite surprised earlier, weren’t you?”
“Quite a bit. I’m calmer now. Actually, those men kept staring at us as soon as we entered the club.”
They were insane. We should have kicked them out sooner.
“Kicked them out? There are occasionally such men in the club, but those men earlier seemed a bit extreme.”
As we were sitting down, Friend 2, who was picking up some snacks, chimed in with her opinion.
“Is it that serious? If it is, we should report it. Where is my police? Baton. Come on.”
A friend nearby interjects.
“Shake it. Shake it. I’m My Lovely Police. Sorry, jilleo~.”
…?
What’s going on here?
Wait. The look in their eyes…
Oops! Those two are already drunk, aren’t they?
Should’ve known from the moment Friend 1 made a fuss upon entering the room.
It wasn’t just a cute tone; it was the pronunciation that comes out when the brain is soaked in alcohol.
In comparison, the subtly charming girl didn’t seem intoxicated at all.
Didn’t drink much, huh?
Or is she just mentally strong?
After sighing quietly, the subtle gaze girl spoke to me.
“I came to the club after having a bit to drink.”
“In such high spirits?”
“If that’s the case, then I should…”
“Yes?”
Feels like something is being muddled.
She swiftly changes the subject.
“Why are those people outside from earlier?”
Ah.
Why are the superheroes in their suits asking to come out today?
That’s a bit strange to me too.
It’s not like they were blatantly standing on both sides of the entrance, but it still felt a bit overwhelming.
Friend 1 looked at me and said,
“Those well-built guys should be inside! It’s a must!”
This time, Friend 2 added a comment.
“The Pacific-shoulder brothers with shoulders as broad as rice cakes. They’re already inside, for me!”
While saying that, Friend 2 casually took off his upper garment.
Whoooa!
What strength is that?
Moreover, a robust pride befitting that strength.
Simultaneously, a subtly wide-eyed girl with a powerful gaze.
“Uh, we’ll be right back after a quick visit to the restroom!”
Then, forcibly suppressing my friends and dragging them outside with a roar.
Through the slightly open door, it seemed like I could hear the excited screams of a fan meeting an idol.
What’s this?
Is it okay to have another drink?
Ah.
But there’s something I need to do before that.
I swung the door wide open and gave the suited man’s shoulder a light tap.
“Would you like to come in for a moment?”
Of course, my voice wouldn’t have been heard over the music.
So, I gestured politely for them to come in.
The suited men exchanged glances for a moment.
Yeah, they knew what was up.
You need one more thing to make your move, right?
I pointed at ‘him’ with my finger, making sure the suited men could see.
He was leaning on the railing, gazing down with an observing look.
The atmosphere was intense.
But it seemed like the suited men wouldn’t come in if he didn’t.
After pointing at him, I raised my thumb and lightly tapped towards the room.
It was a rough gesture, but they should’ve understood, right?
I entered the room first and opened a bottle of whiskey.
Three people entered the room right away.
The noise disappeared as soon as the door closed.
“Have a seat.”
But only that man sat down.
The suited men stood there with their hands together.
Huh? Seems like I thought it was only for the man.
“Thank you for today.”
“You only have one thing to do. Director Seo.”
He certainly knows who I am.
I don’t know him at all.
Since the possession, I couldn’t have all of Seo Woojin’s memories, but I tried to force them or they would come back to me when I found related clues.
But I didn’t remember anything about the man sitting in front of me and the men in suits.
So, I didn’t recognize them at the convenience store either.
Then they must be either people I originally didn’t know, or people who were secretly lurking around Seo Woojin to the extent that I didn’t know.
Considering today’s events, the latter is probably more likely, right?
“This is our first meeting, isn’t it?”
“Yes. Director. I am Hwang Jaeha, the head of the 5th Secretariat Office responsible for your security.”
Oh?
Head of the Secretariat Office?
I thought Kim Chaeyoon was the only secretary.
No, wait. If he’s in charge of security, isn’t he the head of security?
I looked at the men in suits behind me and said, “Aren’t you going to introduce these two?”
Hwang Jaeha, the head of the Secretariat Office, looked at me with surprise.
What? Why are you surprised?
You didn’t seem surprised at all when we were fighting earlier, but you’re surprised at a strange point now.
Director Hwang Jae-ha spoke with a faint smile.
“Here are Han Dong-soo and Park Geun-woo, Chief’s secretaries. Offer your greetings.”
“Hello! Chief! I’m Han Dong-soo!”
“Hello! I’m Park Geun-woo!”
“Nice to meet you, Mr. Han Dong-soo, Mr. Park Geun-woo. You remember seeing me at the convenience store earlier, right? Thank you for looking out for me since then.”
The two seemed unsure how to respond to my words.
But it wasn’t just lip service; I was genuinely grateful.
Even in a situation like just now, where I was about to get a good beating, they intervened appropriately, and I didn’t take a single hit.
I’ll have to make sure to reward them later.
I looked at Director Hwang Jae-ha and said, “But are you going to stay outside all the time?”
“I can’t order you to go back after finishing security.”
Director Hwang Jae-ha spoke sharply, like a well-sharpened knife.
Ah, what charisma.
I thought it was a real knife.
I nodded.
“I didn’t mean it that way.”
Director Hwang Jae-ha smirked.
“Then where am I supposed to be?”
“In the room.”
“…Yes?”
For the first time, Director Hwang Jaeha showed a bewildered expression.
“There are three women, and how am I supposed to handle them alone?”
“Well, even so…”
“Don’t we have to match the number of people? And look at this.”
I pointed to the alcohol on the table.
“Who’s going to finish this? Will you take responsibility if I drink and then get drunk?”
“No. Then should we clear the alcohol-“
“Never mind. Let’s drink together. With the women.”
In that brief moment, it seemed like Handongsu and Park Geunwoo’s eyes sparkled.
That’s right.
That’s a normal reaction.
Director Hwang Jaeha hesitated for a moment.
He turned to Handongsu and Park Geunwoo, then spoke heavily.
“Drinking during security duty is not allowed.”
Handongsu and Park Geunwoo’s eyes wavered with disappointment.
Just as I was about to voice my disagreement, Hwang Jaeha took the lead.
“But you can drink after work, right?”
Oh? How considerate?
Hwang Jaeha said without looking back.
“Han Dong-soo, Park Geun-woo.”
“Yes!”
“You guys are off work. Understood?”
“Yes!”
The booming response echoed.
Whether it was because they enjoyed leaving work or had a good time with women and alcohol, I couldn’t tell.
Hwang Jae-ha rose from his seat with an impassive face.
“I will not be leaving work. I plan to call in others for security, so keep that in mind.”
“No, Director Hwang, you should-“
“Stop here. Director Seo.”
Ugh. This guy indeed has a strange charisma.
I should stay quiet; it seems like I’ll get scolded if I say anything more.
Director Hwang politely lowered his head and exited the room.
Ah, I forgot to ask how he managed to book the room.
I’ll ask next time.
Anyway, it seems like it’s time to organize things here.
I smiled at the awkward glances exchanged between Han Dong-soo and Park Geun-woo.
“Shall we do some role-playing?”
