chapter 30
30 – I got discharged and what?
Fortunately, after school, I was able to successfully skip the Herbology class.
I arrived late, just before the bell rang, and when the president called and told me that I had come, I still can’t forget the expression on the professor’s face as he nodded his head with a confused expression on his face.
Thanks to that, I would have been tired as soon as class was over, but today I felt particularly light.
‘I have nothing else to do after school today. It’s the best.’
Professor Seras’ lessons were originally supposed to be received only right before the exploration of the Wizard’s Forest.
I’m in a similar position to the class that Marie gives, but she said that it would be okay because she was proud that the exam was over, and I was a guy who lacked theory, so I decided to continue from now on.
However, I have just been discharged from the hospital, and since tomorrow is a long-awaited holiday, there will be no classes today in the sense of resting well for three days.
“Hmm.”
Thanks to that, I thought I could go to the dormitory with light steps today, so I started to hum.
Originally, it was something Lorne would do often when he was excited, but since she’s been hanging out with him for a long time, maybe she did it too.
I looked around in embarrassment for some reason, but luckily most of the guys in my class had just left the classroom.
“Bell! Let’s party to celebrate graduation! Party!”
The moment I packed my bag and was about to leave the classroom.
I heard a voice like an excited puppy from behind and gradually drew closer to me.
When I turn my head, the person standing there is just as I expected.
Tina seemed like she would be wagging at any moment if she had a tail.
Anyway, the tension is so high that it’s unbelievable that it’s dismissal time.
No, in a way, this kind of tension comes out because it’s dismissal time?
Anyway, the proposal of a party didn’t feel very welcome, so I replied in a sullen tone without realizing it.
“Extraordinarily trembling. If anyone sees it, they’ll think they’ve been in the hospital for a month or two.”
“You speak so coldly? I heard that a friend takes care of it after a long time.”
“I never asked for it. Whoa.”
Tina let out her anger as she lightly waved her hand as if to drive away her mosquitoes.
If this guy was a real puppy, wouldn’t it have straightened its tail and ears right away?
As I pondered over how to get rid of this guy with such nonsensical thoughts in mind, I heard a rather neutral voice.
“Why don’t we play together instead? I hear Tina is very bored without you.”
I never thought Aden would stand by Tina here.
I thought that the guy who would normally have gone to the dormitory would be seen in the classroom for some reason today, but I wonder if Tina hired me early enough to catch me.
By the way, there are only a few people in the class, so it makes sense to be bored that only one person is missing.
He’s from a commoner like me, so he may be a bit out of the ordinary, but he’s a guy with a secretly insider temperament, so he’ll get along well with the other cadets.
“It’s not some kind of lost puppy….”
“What!? Did you just call me a dog!?”
Perhaps overhearing her inadvertent self-talk, Tina opened her eyes and screamed at her.
It wasn’t a calm tone like Elisha or Rorone, but a high-tone like Mari raised her voice so that her ears tingled for a moment.
“I said it was a puppy.”
“That’s it!”
At my insipid answer, Tina sighed, asking if it makes sense to describe her long-awaited friend as a dog.
No, I don’t know why I’m so sensitive to the word “Dog” On a topic that I used to pass over when I was talking about something else.
From what I’ve heard, if you call a fat person a pig, they get angry, and if you call a skinny person a pig, there’s no harm.
In that sense, I have a reasonable doubt that this guy might really be a dog.
“Don’t fight. So Belle, how are you?”
Arden, who had come in between us, smirked and deflected the mood, then cast his gaze at me.
Honestly, I feel like I want to rest today, but tomorrow is also a holiday anyway, so I wonder if it’s okay to play with them for a day.
What a great guy I am. You don’t have to be particularly expensive.
“If you really want to play, do it. But where are you going to have the party?”
It seems that Aden, like me, only received an offer, so she decided to ask the person who brought up this story directly.
Couldn’t it be that the three of us are gathering in that cramped dorm room?
Regardless of the size, it would be fortunate if the rats didn’t steal food.
“Hee hee, I have thought of everything.”
But as if to say that my worries were over, Tina responded triumphantly, raising her nose and spreading her shoulders wide.
Seeing that guy talking loudly makes me even more anxious.
Of course, if I put these words into my mouth, I’m sure I’ll run at them again like an angry puppy, so I’ll keep quiet.
* * * *
Since they’ve searched for an amazing place for the party, they told me to wait in silence and sit in a classroom chair for about 30 minutes.
As most of the cadets passed through the main building and the crowd faded, Tina took out a bunch of her things from her locker outside and returned to the classroom with a big smile.
“It’s a party!”
The guy who dragged the three desks around, including mine, and put them together cheered and started setting up the things he had brought with him.
In this unexpected situation, I asked with the hope that I wouldn’t know.
“Could you do it here?”
“Yes! Isn’t this the beauty of school life?”
The ponytail of Tina’s hair swayed as she answered her sun, and her orange eyes twinkled as if her hair had been moved.
What on earth can you believe in and be so bright?
No, maybe it’s because I don’t believe in anything.
Since ancient times, there is a saying that an ignorant person is brave.
“I admit it. After all, you must be a b*tch.”
“hehehe, what else to praise….”
It’s not a compliment. You crazy b*tch.
I’m scratching her head as if I’m overstating something
“Aden, did you know?”
“It can’t be. All I heard was to throw you a discharge party.”
She asked if she was an accomplice, but she let out a sigh of relief when she saw Aden smiling awkwardly as if she had been victimized as well.
Fortunately, it seems that there are not even crazy people around me.
“Now, since I prepared it after a long time, many people will come.”
Tina skillfully continued the setting while taking off the vinyl containing the cookies, which I don’t even know what they taste like.
Eventually, the stretched vinyl and wrapping paper covered the entire desk.
Even though she put the four desks together, it felt a bit lacking, so I could tell that Tina was really determined and prepared.
I decided to just enjoy this moment, not knowing what to do if I came all the way here and get caught.
If the security guard catches you, you can at least plead with tears saying that you were discharged from the hospital today and that you were at a party.
Before I could think, I heard the sound of the classroom’s sliding door being opened.
I wondered if the security guard had already arrived, so I turned around in amazement and saw a familiar face there.
“Have you started yet?”
Lorne stepped inside her while tying her long braided silver hair with his hand and tilted her head.
Judging by what he said, it seems he was invited separately.
As if to prove this, Tina, who made eye contact with me, winked at one of her eyes and smiled like a fool.
These two met each other a few times through me, and it seems like they got to know each other quite well.
Without that, it’s hard to blindly invite or participate in an event like this.
“I heard that Lone suffered as well? So I thought it would be sad if I left it out.”
“Yes. Well done.”
Since we named it a party, the more people there are, the better, so I thought it wouldn’t be bad, so I sincerely congratulated them.
“Congratulations on your safe return!”
Eventually, as each of them held a bottle of soda in their hands, Tina, who cleared her throat for a moment, loudly shouted her toast.
Is this guy aware of the fact that we are secretly having a party at an academy where no one else goes?
They are very openly advertising to the people around them to catch us.
Jjaeng.
As I held out the glass bottle with a wry smile, the other three came and collided at the same time.
A refreshing sound echoed in all directions, and each of them grabbed the snack they were eyeing and put it into their mouths.
‘It tastes good.’
Snacks that I often ate in my previous life, with a texture like potato chips, were quite good with a subtle sweetness like chocolate.
Even me, who doesn’t like sweet things, thinks this is fine.
“Turn it off….”
“What are you doing?”
In the midst of being busy eating snacks and drinks alternately.
I suddenly thought I heard a pain next to me, so I turned her head and saw Tina, her face red and crying.
Not sticking out his tongue like a mongrel, but literally sticking out his tongue like a snake, as if trying to increase the area in contact with the air as much as possible.
“Hold, tie…. Heavy… !”
Watching the guy waving his hands in the air like an intellectless zombie, he pointed to a drink bottle that was lying in front of him.
“Is the drink in front of you a decoration?”
“That, that spicy Mahiya… !”
My brain stopped momentarily when I saw the guy who went crazy and flapped his arms at my advice.
What do you mean the drink is spicy?
I’ve seen drinks that were sweet or sour, including my past and present lives, but I’ve never even heard of a spicy drink.
I don’t think it’s going to be a situation to ask the person in question, so I hope you’re in doubt for a while.
Lorne picked up a soda bottle in front of Tina and read it instead of the phrase written on the outside.
“Here’s a random flavor drink. It says, ‘Try your luck.'”
“It was karma.”
Worried about whether the drink might be wrong, I shrugged my shoulders, coming to a clear conclusion.
At least it was crazy to taste it and spit it out, or to swallow it without saying it was good.
It’s so spicy that even swallowing it is only acceptable.
“Oh, Bell. You must not have heard of it.”
“What news?”
As I drew attention to Tina and munched on her cookies, Aden, who was sitting across from me, started talking to her.
Did anything happen during the week I was gone?
After having already experienced the variables in the Wizard’s Forest incident, my spine felt chilly for some reason.
I hope it’s not just beggarly news.
“Because of the accident that happened this time, it seems that us and class D have canceled our outdoor exploration. Instead, I heard that the exchange meeting schedule is being moved forward?”
“… What?”
The former is good news for me, but the latter is difficult news to pass on, so my eyes widened.
What is ahead?
What kind of liver is dripping from a person who has just been discharged from the hospital?
