Became a Childhood Friend of an Academy Genius

chapter 27

27 – Sights of the day

It did not take long for the body to recover.

Excluding the three days spent on conscious, after only four days I was able to leave the hospital bed as if the battle that day had been a lie.

I wanted to lie down a little longer and skip schoolwork, but there were still so many things I had to figure out that I couldn’t lie down comfortably.

More than anything, it’s too boring.

As I walk along the coniferous forest where I used to walk every morning, smelling the cool grass.

Without fail, a silver creature was bouncing up from its seat next to me.

“Are you really okay? The professor said you can rest more.”

I felt like scabs would sit on my ears at Lone’s persuasion, which I don’t know how many times already.

Thank you for your concern, but I’d say it’s too extreme.

The doctor also confirmed that I was almost completely recovered at this level, and I, the person in charge, said I was fine, but I don’t know why they kept me from going to school.

To put it bluntly, I don’t think my mother would be so worried about it.

“You are fine, but why are you lying in a hospital bed? Besides, you are suffering for nothing.”

“I’m fine….”

Lorne muttered quietly, averting his gaze, but he had no intention of changing her mind.

Knowing how much Lorne suffered during the entire week I was in her hospital room, she couldn’t help but want to stay there any longer.

Although we do not know the details of the three days that she was unconscious, Marie said that she stayed by her side for three days and three nights, so she must have suffered severely both mentally and physically.

Besides, on the day I woke up, he took a little sleep, and since then he has been by my side all the time except for sleeping time.

I wanted to be discharged as early as possible so that I wouldn’t have to do that scene any more, but I’m just glad my body somehow kept up with me.

Of course, Lone’s devoted nursing also played a role.

“Anyway, thank you. Lone. Thanks to you, I was able to recover quickly.”

When he expressed his sincere gratitude for her hard work, Lorne’s expression, which had been gloomy, quickly gave way to a faint smile.

As if water was given to a withered flower.

“Heh, you are welcome.”

Her heart was relieved for some reason when she saw Lorne showing off her trademark V and smiling like a fool.

Up until last night, I had a lot of worries, so my heart was a bit stuffy.

After that, we chatted casually as usual before finally arriving at the back door of the main building.

And I was able to meet a pretty unexpected person there.

“Dinauer, long time no see. I feel relieved because I feel better.”

“Originally, fools get better quickly. Elisha.”

It was hard to believe that they were best friends. From the very first words, they were two women who were so contrasting, Elisha and Marie.

Come to think of it, they both came to visit me while I was in the hospital.

Marie’s mouth movements are openly scratching my insides to the point that I want to stop her snout right now, but it’s true that she’s a guy I’m thankful for anyway.

It would be better to close your eyes for a day and say hello normally.

“Yes. Thanks to. Thank you for coming to visit me.”

“My friend was hurt, and that was understandable. Oh, did you eat the fruit well?”

I’m kind of thrilled to think that I’m in the category of Elisha’s friend.

To be honest, I still feel a little distant, but I’m not stupid enough to ask back, “Friend?”

“Oh, it was delicious. Lone worked so hard to cut it, so I ate it all.”

I ate well. It was a problem because there were too many.

In my memory, the fruits I bought as a gift for hospital visits were packed in a small basket, but I brought them too big because I was afraid someone might not be the daughter of a ducal family.

Even Lorne said that you need to eat a lot of everything to get better quickly, and he cut it off, so I feel like I ate more fruit than rice.

Now that I think about it, it’s just astonishing that I somehow managed to get rid of that large amount.

“You’re a childhood friend, aren’t you bothering me too much?”

“Did I ask for a cut? He said he cut it because he liked it.”

Mari twisted the ends of her pink hair with her fingers and brushed me off, but I succeeded in repelling it today as well.

Anyway, why is Lorne so quiet?

“Rone. Lorne.”

“Ugh, huh?”

The guy who belatedly turned his head when I gently tapped his arm and called his name over and over again.

As if to prove that he had lost his mind, his eyes were wide open.

It’s rare to see this guy bruise, but it’s a big deal.

Even though he usually seems weak, he has a personality that pays attention to what others say.

But just a moment ago, it looked as if he was looking at the two people in front of him, but left his consciousness behind.

Lone belatedly handed over an apology, probably realizing that he had also been rude in front of people.

Marie stared at Lone without saying anything, and in contrast, Elisha stretched out her hand with a smile to break her awkward air.

“It must have been Ms. Elua, right? Please take care of me again.”

It’s hard to believe that they’re the same age.

Could it be the mastery of living skills learned from the duke’s family? Or is it just a personality that is good at caring for others?

Either way is appreciated.

“Ugh…. Please take care of me too.”

Lorne belatedly greeted him while holding his outstretched hand, but his expression still showed awkwardness.

Well, this guy is also quite shy.

Even though he has completed a simple phone call and title arrangement with Elisha, who came to visit him, it must be awkward to deal with him because he has not yet become friends.

The status of the opponent who is so high will also play a role.

Within seconds, a laugh leaked out at the sight of Lorne looking at me pitifully as if asking for help.

“Since the ordinance is just around the corner, it would be good to say hello and then go to class. I was waiting because Marie was so worried about Dinauer.”

“Oh, yes? She never knew that she was getting so much attention.

When I put a smash into Elisha’s sneaky toss at the end of the sentence, leaving her seat, sure enough, a pink frog jumped out of the seat.

Oh, if you look at jumping power, there are no real frogs, right?

It was so small that I wondered if it would almost touch the ceiling in an instant.

“Elisha! Don’t just make up nonsensical words!”

“Phehehe…. Sorry. Anyway, I’ve seen you feel better, so you can go back safely. Right, Marie?”

“Well, if you finish talking like that, you won’t think I’m really worried!”

With her face dyed red, Marie glanced at her, then turned her body around and walked away without saying hello.

Looking at her back, Elisha made her laugh, waved her hand at us and followed Marie.

Without even speeding up her steps, she knew she would wait.

At that scene, I finally realized that I had returned to the academy.

* * * *

Marie came into her main building with her face reddened and immediately bruised Elisha.

She couldn’t understand why she put her dump on herself, even though she was the one who said she’d wait there for her bell to come.

“I’m sorry. Number of animals. It was just a joke, I didn’t expect you to be so embarrassed.”

“Boo, I’m not ashamed, I’m angry!? It’s obvious that the commoner, after all, is going to climb up again arrogantly!”

Marie gasped and puffed her steam all over her, but Elisha quickly calmed her down and changed her topic.

The know-how that comes from old friends comes into play at times like this.

“Come to think of it, Contrary to what Marie said, Ms. Elua seemed normal? She didn’t notice anything strange about it.”

“This is a strange expression. She didn’t say that.”

When Elisha expressed her in a nuance like a person who wentssip about the person she was invited to, Marie hurriedly demanded that she be corrected.

Of course, if it’s a gossip, it’s a gossip, but she didn’t say anything that blatantly disparaged Lornet.

“Ah, I did. She said it was a strange atmosphere, right?”

“Yes, it was. It’s not that people look bad…. Should I say it seems like the sun is standing?”

“I didn’t get that feeling from her before, but it’s amazing. Maybe it’s because I’m too shy?”

Elisha tilted her head to her left, saying she had no clue.

She wanted to add her own words as well, but she didn’t dare to say that fact, so she bit her lips and gave up on her words.

‘What was it? That’s it.’

Still, Marie could only question her memories of her first encounter with Lorne.

She accidentally opened the door of the hospital room without even sending a message, and the first thing she saw was Belle’s body lying on her bed.

She doesn’t necessarily mean that she first set her sights on the body of the man she was carrying, just because her face was covered and you couldn’t see it.

Yes.

A woman leaning her torso forward toward her hospital bed, with only her hips slightly removed from her chaperone’s wooden chair.

As the door opened, I hurriedly dropped my body, but Marie witnessed the scene with her own two eyes.

Eventually, to the question that Lorne asked to confirm her identity, Marie replied that she was her friend, and her sharp eyes quickly became quiet.

Given that scene, it wasn’t too strange that Marie assumed that the two were lovers.

‘But she said she wasn’t a lover.’

Certainly, as evidenced by Bell’s words, there was little of the affection that can be felt between the two of them.

At least that’s how Marie felt.

But then, what is the relationship between the two?

Since it was just a childhood friend, the reaction Lone showed at that time was still left in Marie’s head and did not go away easily.

Unrequited love? That’s most likely, but well.

‘Can you have that kind of reaction with just that?’

She questioned herself, but Marie shook her head when she couldn’t get an answer.

For some reason, I feel like I’ve seen something I shouldn’t have seen.

After that, Lorne, who didn’t say anything, and Bell, who looked as usual as if he didn’t know anything, lingered in her mind and seldom disappeared.

Marie, who had buried the memory of her day that she couldn’t even tell Elisha in a corner of her head, moved her steps to her classroom.

Hopefully, it will be forgotten soon, and in fact, I hope that her feelings are just sensitive.
