Beastman Forcefully Raising a Wife

Chapter 58

Edited by Squid

Eh? Female father is angry! The little snakes laid on the ground and did not dare mess around, staring timidly at their cold-faced female father.

How scary, female father is really intimidating when angry. But the meat female father fed us really was yucky, what to do sob sob…

Shu Jintian’s gaze met the snakelet’s pitiful eyes and his heart immediately softened; he was a little annoyed at his loss of control. The little snakes were innocent; he really shouldn’t take his anger out on them like that.

“I’m sorry, dad didn’t mean to, I’m sorry…” Shu Jintian said guiltily, his frustration forcefully suppressed.

“Tiantian, don’t be too sad. You should quickly go eat ba, I’ll feed the little snakes.” Shu Hanyu took the bowl in Shu Jintian’s hand and patted his head.

Shu Jintian couldn’t bear looking at the little snakes’ naive expressions anymore and quietly agreed to Shu Hanyu, then went to eat with an upturned head.

There was an earthen stove in the cave for warmth and it was burning coal now. A few coarse woods were placed on the stove along with two shells of dishes and a roasting sweet potato.

The food was a lot richer than usual, but Shu Jintian had no appetite to eat. After filling his stomach like he was eating wax, he looked at the crowd of snakes by the cave wall.

The snakelets also felt guilty over upsetting their female father and were now obediently eating the cooked food. Seeing their female father look over, they looked at Shu Jintian as if wanting praise, hissing as they spat out their reddened forked tongues.

We’re very obedient, so don’t be angry, female father! The snakelets looked at their female father who was sitting by the bed, waiting for his praise. But Shu Jintian, who had sunk into a daze, didn’t respond to the snakelets at all.

The warm season quietly invaded, drying the ground, turning the plants lush, and enlivening the animals. In just over ten days, the forest was completely different from before and a summer appearance appeared before their eyes.

The baby snakes were also becoming more and more at ease in the forest, and went out of the cave to hunt for food with Shu Hanyu and be carried back after eating their fill. The snakelets’ bodies had also reached about two metres long, and their temperament became a little steadier. They could finally understand the dislike in female father’s eyes when they scattered about in the cave, so they became much more restrained. But every two days, they couldn’t help repeating the crime.

Early in the morning, Shu Hanyu took the chance while Shu Jintian was sound asleep to quietly wake up the little snakelets and soundlessly brought them out of the cave.

It was time; he could finally send away these snakelets that loved fighting over Tiantian with him. When Shu Hanyu thought of returning to the days where he was alone with his female, his pale, thin lips couldn’t resist rising.

Shu Hanyu did not get angry either when he noticed the snakelets’ petty tricks and simply rolled up all the large-bodied snakelets and forcibly hastened their journey.

After being stubbornly rolled up and hurried along by male father, the little snakes’ unease were confirmed and they began struggling under Shu Hanyu’s confinement. But their strength, when compared to their father, was like a mayfly shaking a tree – was completely useless. It provoked Shu Hanyu instead, and he rolled up the snakelets’ tails a little tighter. Only then did the little snakes wilt, looking around restlessly.

What does male father want to do? Where does he want to bring us? Perhaps because their ancestors had all experienced a similar situation, the snakelets instinctively sensed that their male father wanted to throw them away. For a time, the snakelet mass was incredibly panicked, coweringly twisting their bodies. Only the largest little snake forced itself to calm down and obediently rested on male father’s body, not flailing about.

The snakelets were no longer their slim and young appearance and were all about an adult’s arm width. Shu Hanyu believed that if more time passed, he wouldn’t be able to roll up all the snakelets at once anymore.

When Shu Hanyu thought of this, he was even more admiring of his patience, to actually be able to delay for this long. When he was young, he was already abandoned by his male father in just thirty days. Many of his brothers tried to return by going the original path, but they didn’t know the road. They all disagreed on the right road, and thus all separated and headed in the direction they thought they assumed was right. From then on, their nest of Spiritual Snakes was completely scattered and no longer gathered.

Whereas he knew the road, but didn’t feel like returning. He felt that living alone was more comfortable. Ever since his brothers each left to search for the road back to the nest, he was alone until he met Shu Jintian.

He kept travelling until midday and they were already very far from their cave. Shu Hanyu then thought that it was about right, and found a rapid stream and stopped walking.

The snakelets intuitively sensed something was wrong and became on guard, their bodies stretched taut as they looked at their father nervously.

“Alright, here will do ba! You’re all already so big, you should leave us. You’re much luckier than many Spiritual Snakes, so live well from now on ba! Don’t come to find me and your female father; he’s mine alone.”

Shu Hanyu said cheerfully, ignoring the snakelets’ alarmed gazes as he heartlessly tossed the little snakes down. He then turned and left, leaving behind an indifferent and enormous snake figure to the little snakes in the rapid stream, and he soon disappeared.

Finally tossing aside the burden, Shu Hanyu’s happiness was all over his face and even his enormous tail was much more graceful as he swiftly travelled through the fresh green forest.

On his return, Shu Hanyu saw many good things and collected them for Shu Jintian. He even specially caught a Blazing Bird. Tiantian hadn’t eaten Blazing Birds for a long time; he should bring it back and make a sumptuous meal for him.

Once Shu Jintian woke up, he was alone in the cave. At first, Shu Jintian thought they had gone out to hunt and didn’t take it seriously. But when the sky brightened and there was still no sign of their return, Shu Jintian slowly felt uneasy, crawling out of the cave and standing at a high point near the cave to survey the area.

Why aren’t they back yet? Did they encounter danger? Winter had just ended, and there were many hibernating animals that came out to hunt. Did they meet a powerful opponent?

Perhaps it was a father’s telepathy, or perhaps he was frightened by his own guesses, as Shu Jintian was now extremely worried and anxiously looked in the distance.

It was a sunny day without a trace of clouds, so bright it was blinding. But even when the sky had dimmed and the temperature gradually dropped, Shu Hanyu and the others still hadn’t returned.

The panic in Shu Jintian’s heart grew and he could no longer wait, deciding to go look for them himself.

Shu Jintian made a decision and jumped down from the peak.

But Shu Jintian forgot that he had already waited outside for an entire day without a drop of water, much less food. His body was long unable to bear it, and once he jumped, the lack of blood rushed to his head and his vision immediately turned black. His body landed on the ground unsteadily, and the next second, he directly fell to the ground.

Shu Jintian felt the world spinning around him, and he couldn’t see anything for a time. It took a good while before his blinded eyes could see light. But Shu Jintian still couldn’t gather any strength, unable to get up from the ground.

Shu Hanyu excitedly returned just to see Shu Jintian lying on the ground. The food bitten in his snake mouth instantly dropped down and he frantically rushed towards Shu Jintian.

“Tiantian!” When he reached Shu Jintian’s side, Shu Hanyu turned into a human and carried Shu Jintian up.

“Hanyu? …You’re finally back!” Shu Jintian could vaguely see Shu Hanyu’s face and emotionally hugged Shu Hanyu back, unwilling to let go.

“Was Tiantian waiting for me outside? Sorry, I didn’t tell you before I left.” Shu Hanyu felt incredibly upset. Because he was afraid Shu Jintian would cause trouble, Shu Hanyu thought it was better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission. He didn’t think he would make Tiantian have it so hard, even frightening him.

“I’m fine, it’s good that you guys are back. What about the little snakes? They’re fine ba, behind you?” Shu Jintian just thought they had been in a fierce battle and was very worried that the snakelets had been injured. After all, they were only two months old.

Hearing this, Shu Hanyu held a faint smile at the corner of his mouth, but he clearly suppressed it, his shallow smile disappearing in an instant. Shu Jintian was still dizzy and didn’t notice, merely looking at Shu Hanyu’s face nervously. For some reason, he still felt very uneasy even though he saw Shu Hanyu return.

“The little snakes ne?” The little snakes would usually come find him once they returned home. Seeing that the little snakes were still not coming, Shu Jintian was a little suspicious.

“They’re independent from now on. They’ll live their own lives and won’t come back anymore. In the future it’ll be the two of us together; no one can bother us.”

Shu Hanyu caressed Shu Jintian’s face very tenderly, looking at his eyes with overflowing love.

“What do you mean they won’t come back?” Shu Jintian was stunned, hurriedly looking behind Shu Hanyu. Sure enough, there wasn’t a single snakelet in sight. Shu Jintian panicked and grabbed Shu Hanyu’s arm before saying.

“Where are they? Why do they want to be independent? They like me so much; how could they leave without even saying a word to me?”

He had already invested feelings in the snakelets, yet they suddenly left. Shu Jintian felt like he had been betrayed. Were the little snakes’ feelings for him so frivolous? They’d leave just like that? Or maybe the snake species were cold-blooded animals in the first place; even if he was their dad, they could still nonchalantly discard him?

No, impossible! The snakelets were usually so sticky to him, they couldn’t possibly leave just like that!

“Speak, what happened to them? You were the one who lost them, right?” Shu Jintian’s voice was shaking, his lips trembling, not daring to ask what most likely happened.

Perhaps the big snake and the others ran into danger, and the young snakelets might have… The big snake was afraid he would be sad, so he created such a lie.

Shu Hanyu’s response made Shu Jintian sigh in relief while his anger swelled.

“I let them go! I left them at a very faraway river. They’ll drift along the current to a faraway place and won’t be able to return.” When Shu Hanyu saw Shu Jintian unexpectedly so sad for the snakelets, he spoke peevishly.

Pa! A crisp slap resounded near the cave.

Shu Jintian slapped Shu Hanyu with all his strength. Even the powerful Shu Hanyu’s face was turned with such a force.

Shu Hanyu was stunned, staring at Shu Jintian’s extremely angry face in disbelief.
