Beastman Forcefully Raising a Wife

Chapter 51: Hatch

Aside from having to solve physiological needs, Shu Jintian practically spent the entire day in bed incubating the eggs. When he had to leave, he would cover the eggs with relatively softer furred animal hide to maintain the heat. Upon returning, he would immediately take off his clothes and pounce onto the nest, afraid that the eggies would meet with an accident or something.

Since Shu Jintian was incubating, the chore of cooking was completely handed over to Shu Hanyu. However, just one big pot of soup was enough for Shu Jintian to consume for two days, but Shu Hanyu would also roast an additional sweet potato as a snack for him as he reheated the soup for each meal.

And while Shu Jintian had been eating the pot of soup for two days, there was still slightly less than half remaining. The soup did not spoil, but Shu Jintian no longer dared to eat it. He had never eaten food left out there for so long. Although it looked fine, who knew whether bacteria had formed. In the end, Shu Jintian could only regretfully ask Shu Hanyu to throw it away.

He didn’t know whether it was because he had spent all day in the warm bed and rarely went out, but Shu Jintian felt that the weather seemed much colder.

Several more days passed. Shu Jintian wanted to go to the toilet once he woke up, and wrapped himself up tight before leaving before he realised that it was actually snowing.

The sky was an expanse of dusky grey, so dim it was like a dirty quilt soaked in water, while heavily sprinkling out layers of pure white snowflakes.

Perhaps due to the cold weather, even in the dusky weather, the air in the forest was still just as refreshing. The swirling snowflakes floated down; it had only been one night yet it covered the entire mountain forest.

As far as his eyes could see, the surface everywhere was a pure and clean white, so white it was blinding.

The overly large trees were all covered with a woollen cloak of white snow. The top surface were heavy layers of snow, and only the lower parts exposed the trees’ original appearance. It formed a clear-cut contrast against the gleaming white snow, making it more impactful to the eyes.

As the saying goes, it wasn’t cold when snowing but was cold when melting. Although the heavy snowfall had covered a wide expanse of the earth, the air temperature was more or less like when it wasn’t snowing yesterday. Compared to the rawness of the cold yesterday, today’s weather even made people feel a little better.

“Whoa~ It actually snowed!” Shu Jintian looked at the sight before him in disbelief, his jaw about to drop.

Shu Jintian looked at this world of vast whiteness, and couldn’t help but secretly praise nature’s beautiful scenery. Large snowflakes like goose feathers gently swayed and fluttered before Shu Jintian. Shu Jintian reached out a hand that was covered by the animal hide clothing and caught a pear blossom-like snowflake. He placed it on his lips, gently licking. The snowflake instantly melted in his mouth and felt cool.

“Hehe~ Tiantian, this can’t be eaten.” Shu Hanyu said as he watched the female in amusement. He reached out and dusted away the snowflakes that fell on Shu Jintian’s head and put on the fur hat for him.

“I know!” Shu Jintian rolled his eyes, speechless, and let Shu Hanyu help him put on his hat.

Following the change in weather, Shu Jintian’s outerwear wasn’t enough to keep warm. A few days ago, Shu Jintian had begun wearing a fur overcoat.

Because Shu Hanyu had always been roasting food for him to eat these days, and Shu Jintian was busy incubating, it wasn’t convenient to make clothes. As such, he could only turn this fur overcoat inside out, and wear the fur-side inside. His arms and legs were directly stuffed into the hide’s limbs, and the inside was furry and very warm.

This entire hide clothing was a conjoined set of hat, gloves, pants, and socks.

When Shu Jintian came out of the cave, he would occasionally wear an additional fur coat, as wearing it both right side out and inside out was very warm.

Shu Jintian was now covered with a white fur overcoat with its fur facing outwards, and his whole body was furry and appeared like a lion dance performer.

But when two thick fur overcoats were layered together, the cuffs were small, and led to difficulty in Shu Jintian taking out his hands that were hiding in his clothes.

“Tiantian likes it a lot?” Shu Hanyu looked at Shu Jintian with a smile in his eyes as he spoke gently.

“Hm, not really. I’m just very surprised. I’ve never seen such big snow ne. From where I was, there were only very small snowflakes that generally melted when it touched the ground. It wasn’t as beautiful as this.”

After Shu Jintian said this, he struggled free from Shu Hanyu’s embrace and joyfully jogged a few steps forward.

His feet stepped into a thick layer of snow and his feet lightly sank into the white, snowy ground, letting out crunching sounds and leaving two rows of unrecognisable footprints.

Cough! It was called unrecognisable footprints because the Shu Jintian had worn overshoes made from animal hide due to the overly cold weather these days. With no standard soles, there were just long ovals created when stepping in the snow.

The hide used to make shoes were from small prey like the Maochu beast, skinned with a cut on its neck. The entire hide only had a cut at its throat, while the rest of the hide was completely intact.

The overshoes were also made very crudely, but were just as usable. The hide was merely turned inside out, with the fur on the inside and the skin on the outside. It felt very warm inside, while the outside was also waterproof.

The head of the hide was set on top of the shoes as decorations, and looked quite nice. The limbs of the hide were also entirely turned inside out to act as shoe laces. Some shoes were large, and could be worn when tied a little tighter.

Shu Hanyu held a smile in his eyes as he watched the female hop and bounce on the ground, his own naked body on the snowed ground already making one feel cold by looking.

But Shu Hanyu did not feel any discomfort aside from being more fond of sleeping compared to the warm season. This conversely matched Shu Jintian’s current sleep schedule very well.

Shu Jintian originally wanted to make a snowman, but when thinking about how he had to incubate, he could only stop before going too far.

Shu Jintian ran off to the mountain forest to take a leak, but due to his clothes, such a simple matter was quite demanding for Shu Jintian“.”

The harsh weather lowered his body temperature each time his skin was exposed. By the time Shu Jintian was done and put his clothes back on, he had already begun to shiver.

Shu Hanyu was waiting for Shu Jintian behind a tree, and hurriedly held the trembling female when he saw this.

“It’s so cold ah. Aren’t you cold, Hanyu? You’re completely naked. I feel cold just by looking.”

Shu Jintian trembled and wanted to take Shu Hanyu’s hand to feel his temperature. However, when stretching a hand out, he saw the paw covering him firmly, and paused midair. He switched to pressing his face against Shu Hanyu’s chest; as expected, it was ice-cold, as if he was an ice cube.

“I’m not cold. If Tiantian is cold, let’s go in. Don’t get sick from the cold.” Shu Hanyu walked to Shu Jintian’s side. Seeing his face reddened from the cold, he became a little worried. His tall body stood in the direction to block the wind, and covered Shu Jintian from the cold wind mingling with snowflakes.

“Mn!” Shu Jintian nodded in agreement. He suddenly spotted a white rooftop house out of the corner of his eye, and changed his intentions. “Hold on, let’s get rid of the snow on the house first ba. This house was constructed with branches and definitely can’t bear too much snow, so let’s clean out the snow. It was really hard to make this kitchen; it definitely can’t collapse.”

As Shu Jintian spoke, he saw that there was a long twig covered in the white snow. He grasped it with both hands then ran over to the kitchen to poke out the snow. However, Shu Jintian’s grasp on the branch wasn’t stable and he wasn’t tall enough either, so he could only touch the edge-most snow.

It was still Shu Hanyu who felt distressed over Shu Jintian working so hard and took the branch in his hands. He had Shu Jintian wait for him at the side, then helped to sweep off the layer of snow on the roof.

By the time they returned to the cave, Shu Jintian had become so cold he was shivering. Taking off his clothes from under the blankets, Shu Jintian thus curled into a ball inside, and waited for his body to warm up before lying down on the egg nest to incubate.

Shu Hanyu held Shu Jintian along with the blankets, asking with an aching heart, “Still cold? How about just resolving it in the cave; don’t go out anymore.”

“No, it’s good to take a breath of fresh air once in a while. I can’t always stay bored inside. Fortunately, this bed is warm enough. I’m not as cold anymore.”

Shu Jintian did not lie to Shu Hanyu; the inside of this bed was truly very different from the outside. Originally, the underground cave was warmer than aboveground, but this bed that was tightly wrapped up in animal hide was even warmer.

Shu Hanyu only relaxed slightly when he heard Shu Jintian’s words.

Time thus passed as Shu Jintian spent all day idly lying down to incubate. It had been seven days, but the eggies did not move at all. Aside from the layer of snow becoming even thicker in the mountain forest, there seemed to be no changes at all.

Now, it was already a little hard for Shu Jintian to come out of the cave because of several consecutive days of snowfall that only came to a stop today.

The snow on the ground was already half a metre deep. If it weren’t for Shu Hanyu clearing out the snow at the entrance every day, their cave entrance would probably be blocked off by the snow.

Shu Hanyu shovelled a path in the direction where Shu Jintian went to the restroom, only then could Shu Jintian smoothly resolve his physiological needs.

Shu Jintian was now very grateful that he did not manage to escape from Shu Hanyu at the very beginning. It wasn’t only because of Shu Hanyu, but also because he could not possibly have survived under this severe winter environment. If he had been caught by that beastman, it would have been even more terrible.

When Shu Hanyu saw Shu Jintian fall asleep, he gently let Shu Jintian go, then turned into a Spiritual Snake and slithered out of the cave. Tiantian should eat.

As the weather grew colder, it was harder to find prey, and it now took longer and longer for Shu Hanyu to hunt for food. Afraid of starving Shu Jintian, Shu Hanyu took advantage of Shu Jintian being asleep this time to go out.

Shu Hanyu did not head into the depths of the mountain forest, instead going for the blue water. It had been a long time since Tiantian ate blue water food, so he’ll bring some for a fresh taste ba!

Ever since Shu Hanyu turned into his female’s chef, the most important thing every day was to make all sorts of tasty things for the female so he could be a little bigger, a little fatter.

Shu Jintian’s sleep wasn’t that deep and he dimly felt his body tickle as if something was crawling back and forth; it felt cold.

Shu Jintian sleepily waved away the thing on his body, scratched his itch, then continued sleeping. But other parts of his body were itching, making it so that Shu Jintian’s sleep wasn’t very peaceful.

Shu Jintian sat up in irritation, vigorously scratching at the itchy spots. His hand seemed to have touched a cool and soft long strand. Shu Jintian was stunned in his sleepiness, then suddenly realised what it was. He abruptly opened his eyes and threw open his blankets.

“AH! Snake~” Shu Jintian cried out involuntarily, seeing that his body was unexpectedly crawling all over with small green snakes. He immediately felt his hair stand, and suddenly leapt out of the bed and ran to the side of the bed naked.

Shu Jintian stared at the green snakes coiled together, feeling incredibly horrified; the goosebumps all over his body had risen.

The thick-furred blanket was forcefully flung to the corner of the bed, and brought along a small snake that was innocently tossed out. It was now poking out from the blanket, looking up while spitting out its tongue with a ‘ss’, then slithered towards Shu Jintian with the other little snakes.

Shu Jintian cautiously backed away a little, pressed up against the side of the bed. His hand pulled at the bed curtain as he prepared to flee at any moment.

Right at this time, Shu Jintian saw that the smooth and round snake eggs he had always been laying down on were gone, replaced by a nest of white shell fragments!

It was then that Shu Jintian suddenly realised with a start: these snakes… were all his children! ( ⊙▽ ⊙)

Looking at the small green snakes slowly and weakly approaching him, Shu Jintian stiffened. These were his children, actually his children!!!

It was too sudden. He had always been impatient for his eggies to hatch, but didn’t think that the day would arrive so quickly. It was so soon that Shu Jintian did not remember that it would be small green snakes that would be emerging; he completely did not prepare himself.

Shu Jintian had been afraid of snakes since childhood. Even for Shu Hanyu, he had to be forced to come in contact with him before he could slowly get used to it.

Even if these snakes were his children, with such a large pile twisting around and slithering to him, it still gave Shu Jintian goosebumps all over. The instant the first little snake touched him, Shu Jintian lost control and screamed and reflexively backed away, running off with a bare body…
