Chapter 14: STARLIGHT Academy
Noah let out a languid yawn, stretching his body on the comfortable bed. He lay there for a minute, savoring the warmth, before standing up and heading straight to the bathroom.
As he stood in front of the mirror, he couldn't help but notice his own reflection. His handsome face stared back at him, and he was relieved to see that the dark bags under his eyes from the previous day were gone.
"Still, I feel tired and a little bit of pain all over my body," he mumbled to himself, wincing slightly.
He opened the cabinet above the mirror, pulling out his brush and toothpaste to begin his morning routine.
Meanwhile, in her own room, Lily was surprisingly already prepared for the day. It was unusual for her to be so early, and one could only assume that her brother's return to the academy was the motivation behind her newfound punctuality.
She headed downstairs and made her way to the kitchen, where she began preparing breakfast using the ingredients they had bought the day before.
"Brother is going to the academy today with me~" she sang to herself, her voice filled with excitement, before giggling and continuing to cook with haste.
Thirty minutes later, Noah headed downstairs, dressed and prepared for the day. As he reached the ground floor, a sweet aroma wafted through the air, tantalizing his senses.
"Humm... Who cooked something so delicious?" he wondered aloud, his curiosity leading him to the dining table.
There, he found Lily happily munching away on her breakfast. Her mouth was full, and she attempted to greet him, but all that came out was a muffled "Goob mowming brodwa."
Noah chuckled at the sight, finding her adorable as she struggled to speak with a mouthful of food. His eyes then landed on the full plate of omelette rice in front of the empty chair.
"Is that mine?" he asked, impressed by the nicely prepared meal, which looked like it had been crafted by a professional.
In response, Lily nodded enthusiastically and continued eating her breakfast. Noah took a seat and dug in, savoring the flavors. "Humm... Yummy!" he exclaimed, making Lily blush with a smile.
As they ate, Noah's enthusiasm got the better of him, and he choked on a mouthful of rice. Lily rushed to his side, laughing, and handed him a glass of water. "Haa... My life flashed before my eyes," Noah said dramatically, making Lily burst into laughter.
The duo finished their meal and headed to the kitchen to wash the dishes. Just as they were scrubbing away, they heard a knock at the door.
-Knock! -Knock!
"Oh, coming!" Lily yelled, rushing to the door to open it. "Oh, Purple Locks Aunty!" she exclaimed, staring at Maya with a bright smile.
Maya's expression was unusual, as she rarely interacted with anyone, let alone children. "Good morning there, little one..." she said, her voice tinged with awkwardness.
Maya's eyes scanned the interior of the house, taking in the beautifully decorated and well-maintained space. "Where is Brother Noah?" she asked, her gaze lingering on the tidy living room.
"He's doing the dishes," Lily replied, making Maya's brow rise in surprise. A guy who still does dishes and doesn't leave them for his sister? Maya's expression betrayed her astonishment.
"He really is a good person," Maya mumbled to herself, lost in thought. Suddenly, Noah emerged from the kitchen.
"Hey, Lily, whose at the door?" Noah asked, but his words trailed off as he caught sight of Maya. His expression transformed into one of shock.
"Uh, good morning, Maya," he said awkwardly, trying to compose himself. Maya, however, remained silent, her gaze fixed on Noah's nicely dressed figure. He looked even more handsome than before.
"Is it me, or are your teeth getting sharper?" Maya blurted out, her words catching Noah off guard. He paused, taken aback by her observation.
'Why does she always somehow find the unusual about me?' Noah wondered inwardly, his eyes locked on Maya's as he forced a nervous smile.
[She has really good eyes unlike you]
Ignoring his system Noah attempted to change the subject. "Uh, isn't it about time we got going?" he asked, his words snapping Maya back to reality.
"Yeah, that's true. Okay, then get your bags and hop into the car," Maya said, pointing at the sleek, black G-benzalin 460 GLE parked in front of their house. Noah's eyes widened in awe; he had only seen this limited-edition model in TV commercials.
'A G-benzalin 460 GLE!' Noah thought, his mind racing with excitement. He couldn't believe Maya owned such a luxurious and rare vehicle.
After gathering their belongings, Noah locked the door, and they all climbed into the car. As soon as they settled in, they were enveloped in a serene atmosphere, reminiscent of a peaceful forest.
'This is incredible!' Noah thought, feeling his tension melt away. 'So this is the new atmospherical change gas I've been hearing about. I never knew it worked so well!'
The atmospherical change gas was a revolutionary innovation created by the Toytoa company for a single individual. However, the design had been leaked, and several companies had attempted to replicate it. The gas's purpose was to provide drivers and passengers with a comfortable and anxiety-free ride. Its success had been remarkable, with some people even becoming dependent on it.
As they settled in for the ride, Noah couldn't help but feel grateful for the unexpected luxury. He glanced over at Lily, who was already dozing off, and smiled. This was going to be an interesting day.
