Chapter 13 - 13 Grant Me Custody of the Two Children
Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Grant Me Custody of the Two Children
Ji Muye’s breathing stalled when he heard the words, “What do you mean?”
Lu Xining spoke indifferently, “Let’s discuss the custody of the children again.”
The air around them seemed to have solidified, deathly silent.
The man took a step forward to stand in front of her, his handsome face covered with frost, his cold and bottomless eyes fixed on hers, emanating an intimidating force that could scare anyone to their core.
Having been his partner for five years, Lu Xining knew his emotions better than anyone.
An anger that was suppressed to the extreme.
This could have terrified anyone else with his demeanor.
The six-year-old child wasn’t light, yet Lu Xining held them steady, without any slack.
Having thought things through, her emotions had also cooled when she looked at Ji Muye.
“The sun is too harsh, the child can’t endure it. Let’s talk inside.”
Lu Xining carried Ji Chao, while Ming Yuan held her daughter in her arms, and the two headed towards the hotel.
Ji Ze went ahead, holding Ji Muye’s hand, trailing behind them.
Liu Xixi, without a second thought, tried to hold Ji Ze’s other hand, wanting to create a sense of family warmth between the three of them.
This time, Ji Ze refused!
It was the first time Ji Ze had seen his brother cry so miserably, and because of their twin bond, they had always been empathetic to each other’s emotions since they were young.
His brother… he was truly upset.
Was it Aunt Xixi who caused this, or was I too close to her before? Ji Ze wondered to himself.
Just then, Liu Xixi came to hold his hand, and Ji Ze had been hesitating.
Liu Xixi’s complexion was poor, her fingers tightly clasping her palm.
The hotel check-in was just next door.
The check-in process was quick.
All the relatives and friends invited by cousin Ming Yuan were part of the same Jingzhou circle.
Many had seen the twins whom the Ji Family cherished.
Seeing Ji Chao being held by Lu Xining, clinging so dependently, they all looked at her curiously.
The beauty of Lu Xining was unquestionable.
Even Ming Yuan, who had seen various beautiful women in the entertainment industry, had not found anyone more beautiful than Lu Xining.
She had a classic elegance about her, like a flawless piece of jade; just standing there made it hard for anyone to look away.
Inside the elevator going up, Ming Yuan sneaked a glance at Ji Muye from the corner of her eye.
He was the most handsome man she had ever seen, his features so perfect they were without a single flaw, his whole being exuded a coldness, a sense of distance that repelled others.
Fair is fair.
In terms of appearance, Lu Xining and Ji Muye were a perfect match!
Ming Yuan looked down at the fragrant and soft foster daughter in her arms and couldn’t resist kissing her cheek.
Although Ji Muye was a rubbish husband, his genes were good.
Whether it was the twins or Lu Nuonuo, they all had pleasing looks.
Lu Xining had met Ming Yuan after the divorce, and although they had not known each other for long, they understood each other’s nature very well.
Seeing her steal glances at Ji Muye and then look at Lu Nuonuo in her arms, Lu Xining immediately understood what she meant and warned her not to talk nonsense.
Ming Yuan gave her a reassuring look.
With a foster daughter so adorable, she would never tell this scumbag that she was his daughter.
She leaned close to Lu Xining and whispered with a playful wink, “Babe, once you get the twins’ custody back, can I also be their godmother?”
She might not be able to give birth to three children with unearthly beauty, but that didn’t stop her from asking.
A godmother is still a mother.
Lu Xining looked at her helplessly, while Ji Chao, resting on her shoulder, also curiously looked at her.
With a “ding,” the elevator arrived.
Lu Xining led the way to her own room, with Ming Yuan following closely behind, holding the child.
Before entering, she turned to the persistently lingering Liu Xixi.
“Miss Liu, this is a matter between us as parents and our child. No matter how far you and Ji Muye have gone, you shouldn’t get involved in this, should you?”
Liu Xixi looked pitifully at Ji Muye, her eyes full of grievance.
When Ji Muye heard Lu Xining’s last few words, he frowned subconsciously, wondering what nonsense she was spouting.
But Lu Xining was right about one thing; this was their family matter, and Liu Xixi was an outsider.
Ji Muye: “Go back to your room first.”
Liu Xixi didn’t want to miss this opportunity to cause trouble, but the man had already taken Ji Ze into the room.
The door closed in front of her, angering her so much that she almost forgot to maintain her gentle persona and disguise, glaring venomously at the door before helplessly returning to her room.
The suite Ming Yuan had arranged for Lu Xining was already prepared, with luggage delivered in advance.
Lu Xining first settled Ji Chao and Lu Nuonuo in the bedroom, taking out toys from the suitcase, all of which were the latest models, along with snacks the children liked.
She gently touched Ji Chao’s head, and said in a tender voice, “Xiao Chao, can you play here with your sister for a while? Mom and Dad need to talk and we’ll come to join you soon, okay?”
Ji Chao obediently nodded.
Lu Xining saw the unease in his eyes and hugged him with a heartache.
She didn’t want to speak well of Ji Muye, but she wanted even less for her son to be trapped as he had been earlier.
She hoped they would always be happy.
Lu Xining took him to the bathroom, took a clean towel from the suitcase, wet it with hot water, wrung it out, and gently wiped the tear stains on the child’s face.
“It was Dad’s fault just now. Mom will scold him for you.”
“Our Xiao Chao is so good, he’s not an impolite child. Mommy knows that Xiao Chao pushed her away to protect his sister, such a brave good brother.”
Ji Chao was comforted by her words, feeling the warmth of the towel on his face, and finally stopped crying.
After pacifying her son, Lu Xining started to soothe her daughter.
The little one was young and forgetful.
After her comforting, it didn’t take long for her to become joyful, tugging at her brother to play with the new toys.
Ji Ze peeked in from outside, cautious and relieved to see they weren’t crying.
Ji Chao saw him and called him in to play together.
Ji Ze hesitated uneasily, stealing glances at Lu Xining’s expression, but seeing that she didn’t even glance his way, he felt a sour abandonment in his heart.
Ming Yuan had intended to stay and take care of the children, but after all, it wasn’t too appropriate, so she eventually gave the space to Lu Xining and Ji Muye and returned to her own room.
In the living room.
Lu Xining sat at one end of the sofa, able to look up and see the three children.
Ji Muye sat opposite her, lips tightly pressed, his black attire accentuating his cold and distinguished demeanor.
Lu Xining took the initiative to break the deadlock, calmly looking at him and asking, “Ji Muye, you and Liu Xixi are nearing a happy union, aren’t you?”
The man’s dark eyes deepened, and he scoffed, “I’m not like you. I don’t treat relationships the way you do.”
She took several deep breaths, reminding herself not to get angry with this blind and deaf bastard!
What if he hid the children away?
The most important thing right now was to negotiate the custody of the children.
Lu Xining lifted her eyes to look at him again, but crashed into his abyss-like dark eyes, seemingly filled with emotions she couldn’t understand.
Before she could observe closely, Ji Muye had looked away.
She spoke distantly, as if meeting him for the first time: “Mr. Ji, I know you were forced to marry me, so you have disliked seeing me all these years.”
“As long as you give me custody of the two children, I will take them abroad, ensuring they’re far away from you, with no intersection for a lifetime.”
“If you like children that much, you can have a few more with Liu Xixi.”
Lu Xining had thought it through. If Ji Muye and Liu Xixi managed to get married and have children, even if he wasn’t biased toward his children, it was not easy to say for Liu Xixi.
Ultimately, it was inevitable the last two children would be wronged.
Ji Muye’s expression turned icy, his teeth clenched as he rebuked coldly, “Do you think I would agree to let you take my son and live with your current husband?”
