Chapter 99: Chapter 99: Storing the Beast Skeleton

Chapter 99: Storing the Beast Skeleton

"Zihuo is advancing?" Mo Yu's expression lit up with joy as he noticed the significant changes in Zihuo after it finished consuming the decayed flesh of the mysterious beast skeleton.

Zihuo was currently a Three-Star magical beast, so if it successfully advanced, it would become a Four-Star beast, comparable in strength to a Dou Ling (Battle Spirit) expert!

As the offspring of the Purple Crystal Winged Lion King, Zihuo had been born with the strength of a Two-Star magical beast. Over the decades, which would have been a significant portion of a human's life, Zihuo had only just passed its initial growth phase, reaching the strength of a Three-Star beast. Advancing to Four-Star would typically require decades of accumulation.

However, after consuming the bloodline contained within this mysterious beast's flesh, Zihuo had effectively condensed decades of growth into mere moments. This made Mo Yu wonder if the skeleton truly belonged to some ancient and powerful magical beast clan.

Mo Yu's thoughts wandered as he considered this, but he quickly shook his head. What mattered now was taking advantage of the opportunity before him.

As Mo Yu watched, the changes in Zihuo gradually slowed, and contrary to his expectations, it didn't immediately advance to Four-Star. Instead, it seemed to have overindulged, unable to digest the energy, and promptly fell asleep.

"It seems it won't wake up for a while," Mo Yu remarked, shaking his head. But he was more confident than ever that Zihuo would successfully advance to Four-Star when it finally awoke.

Magical beasts advanced differently from humans. While humans mainly relied on the quantity and quality of Dou Qi to break through physical limits, allowing them to complete a breakthrough in a matter of days, magical beasts focused on the advancement of their bloodlines and physical bodies. This process was much slower, often taking months or even years.

"Mo Yu, is Zihuo okay?" Little Doctor Fairy asked worriedly as she looked at the sleeping beast. After all, the skeleton's flesh had been decayed for an unknown period, and there was no telling what kind of bacteria or viruses might have been present. Seeing Zihuo fall asleep after consuming so much of it, she couldn't help but worry it might have been poisoned.

Mo Yu smiled and reassured her, "Zihuo's fine. It's actually benefited greatly from this. When it wakes up, it's likely to be a Four-Star magical beast."

Little Doctor Fairy was astonished as she looked at Zihuo, now sleeping peacefully. "Zihuo is going to become a Four-Star magical beast? I suppose I won't be able to call it a little fellow anymore."

Amused by her line of thought, Mo Yu chuckled. "You can call it whatever you like. As long as I'm its master, that makes you its mistress."

Blushing at the implication of his words, Little Doctor Fairy was about to respond when she saw Mo Yu heading toward Zihuo. She sighed, brushed her hair behind her ear, and silently followed him.

Mo Yu reached out and touched Zihuo. With a slight glow, he stored the sleeping beast in his beast ring. He then turned his attention to the massive beast skeleton.

The skeleton, nearly ten meters long and exuding a terrifying aura, made Mo Yu's expression turn serious. The skeleton was the real treasure, and its value was immeasurable. Not even the entire Jia Ma Empire could match the worth of this Seven-Star magical beast's remains.

Whether it was the two spiral horns on the beast's head, the magical beast blood contained within the bones, or the wings imbued with a strange energy, any of these would drive countless Dou Zong experts mad with greed.

Determined to claim this treasure, Mo Yu swiftly formed a series of hand seals. A powerful surge of soul energy erupted from his body, enveloping the massive skeleton.

Storing such a large and powerful beast skeleton wasn't easy, but Mo Yu's soul strength had recently improved, giving him a chance. Without it, he would have had no choice but to leave the treasure behind, as staying in the valley for years just to guard it wasn't an option.

Under Mo Yu's control, the giant skeleton began to respond. With a thunderous sound, it slowly rose as if coming back to life, the imposing aura of a king among beasts radiating from it once more.

"This is terrifying... Is this the power of a Seven-Star magical beast?" Little Doctor Fairy whispered, her hand covering her mouth in shock as she watched the skeleton rise. The sheer force of Mo Yu's soul energy and the terrifying aura of the beast's remains left her deeply impressed.

"Absorb!" Mo Yu commanded as he directed his ring towards the massive skeleton. With a final surge of soul energy, the nearly ten-meter-long skeleton was drawn into the beast ring.

"What a terrifying presence. It felt like it was going to shatter my soul," Mo Yu muttered, taking a deep breath as his face turned pale.

While storing an inanimate object in a ring was usually a simple task, easily accomplished by even a Dou Zhi Qi stage practitioner, the remains of a Seven-Star magical beast were no ordinary inanimate object. The immense pressure it exerted could easily crush the soul of a Dou Shi.

Rubbing the beast ring on his right hand, Mo Yu couldn't help but smile. Despite the strain, the reward was well worth it—a complete Seven-Star magical beast skeleton, whose value was beyond estimation.

The only downside was that Mo Yu's search of the skeleton with his soul energy had revealed no sign of a magic core, which was a bit disappointing. If the Seven-Star magic core had been present, Zhi Que Fen Tian Lei (Vermilion Bird's Heaven-Splitting Thunder) could have immediately advanced from the early stage to the mature stage!

Mo Yu shook his head, reminding himself not to be too greedy. The skeleton alone was an unexpected treasure, already making this trip incredibly rewarding. Wanting more could invite disaster.

Little Doctor Fairy watched as Mo Yu stored Zihuo and the massive skeleton in his ring, her eyes filled with curiosity. This was the first time she had heard of a ring that could store living creatures. But considering the various mysterious techniques Mo Yu had displayed, she wasn't too surprised.

"Let's head back. With all the treasure we've found today, I'll cook us a feast," Little Doctor Fairy said with a smile.

In this secluded valley, the two of them lived together in peace, as if in their own little paradise...
