Chapter 346: The Tournament of Destroyers 6/7
Jayr POV - Dragon Ball Universe, Neutral Space, Nameless Planet - Age 779
As Vegeta continues to walk away from the bowing Cabba, Goku can't help himself from commenting, "It's hard to think that Vegeta spent time trainin' someone else." but Piccolo explains, "Vegeta is a prince. Wanting to help out his fellow Saiyan, is only natural for him. From the bottom of his heart."
In response to that Goku argues, "But I'm a Saiyan too and he doesn't do that for me." but Piccolo then asks, "Do you think that guy likes you at all?"
Hearing that question, Goku cluelessly asks back, "What would Vegeta hate me for?" making Piccolo guess with a smirk on his face, "For being annoying, I guess."
Confused, Goku scratch his cheek with a finger looking up and asking, "What do you mean?"
Seeing that, Piccolo can't stop himself from chuckling before he adds, "Hehehe. In any case, during these years Vegeta and Nappa were always ready to help their fellow Saiyans in their own way when they asked for it, and without any hesitation at that. They did it for Gohan, Goza, Goten, Trunks, and even Pan. Especially, Nappa who seems more than happy to watch over the young Saiyans when the parents are too busy."
After Cabba leaves the ring leaving Vegeta alone, the referee announces, "The one who will fight against contestant Vegeta, the winner, is the last fighter from Universe 6, contestant Hit!"
Hearing his name called out, Hit opens his eyes and jumps to the arena ready to confront Vegeta.
I take advantage of this brief moment to take a closer look at Hit, the last fighter of the 6th Universe Team.
Hit is a tall, muscular humanoid with purple skin, flattened ears, a bald head, and red eyes.
Facial-wise, he physically resembles Cell or members of the Frieza Race while they are in their final forms as he has lines running from his eyes that connect under his chin, framing his face, with the skin on his face appearing in a lighter shade of purple.
His cranium has a noticeable division in the center, and on the side of his head, his flattened ears possess the same shade of purple as his face.
Hit wears a dark cyan undershirt, dark purple elbow, and knee pads, and dark purple wrist guards, a dark cyan belt with a yellow buckle.
His pants are dark cyan, and he wears a pair of dark purple boots with black toe-and-heel armor.
Overall, it is a long, turtleneck, dark purple, blue, and grey trench coat.
The lower half of his trench coat looks out to be detachable via his belt, very likely acting as a cover for his legs so his opponent cannot read his movements when he uses Time-Skip.

Looking at his figure and perceiving his presence through my Cosmic Awareness, I can't help but comment out loud, "Not bad... Hit is, without doubt, the strongest fighter from Universe 6, but he is without doubt much weaker than both Vegeta and Goku in sheer pure power when they transform in their Super Saiyan Blue form."
Hearing that, Son Goza nods and adds, "That's right. However, Hit is not a fearsome opponent because of his power. Rather is because of his Time Skip technique and his 1000 years of fighting experience."
I smile and explain, "True, for those who do not know about it and are taken by surprise Time Skip is indeed a truly fearsome technique, especially in the hands of an experienced assassin. Time-Skip is a technique where the user skips time for a tenth of a second, and in that limited time, they are able to move freely. The technique does not stop time, however, though some have mistaken it for doing so, and the user's foe will still be able to move, although an unaware opponent will always be caught off guard. However, if the opponent is aware of the technique, they can work to counter it, as the technique is flawed in that the user will not know their opponent's movements either. For normal beings, a tenth of a second is basically nothing, but if the user of this power has incredible speed, the user will have a greater advantage over his or her opponent. When Hit uses this technique, to outside observers, he disappears the moment he uses it and reappears somewhere else, as he is skipping over that moment."
After saying that, I look at Hit's figures as he slowly walks up to Vegeta and continues, "Another flaw of this technique is that it is only fully effective on opponents whose power level is near to or lesser than that of the user, otherwise, the amount of time skipped decreases the stronger the foe is. For example, the current Hit can easily use Time Skip on Super Saiyan Vegeta as he is not strong enough to make a noticeable altercation to the Time Skip length, but by using Super Saiyan God he would be able to shorten the duration of the Time Skip more and more as he powers up, and he could become almost immune to the Time Skip entirely by using Super Saiyan Blue Full Power because in that form he would be too strong for Hit, or at least, it would be just too draining for Hit to use that technique continuously unless he actually improves and grows stronger during the battle."
While I'm saying that, I also hear Vados as she comments, "We've gotten down to our last man." followed by Champa who adds in a lazy tone, "Yeah, but since Hit is the last one, there's no need to worry. The legendary assassin of our universe, Hit. Still, it's impressive that you got that guy to show up."
Hearing that, Vados explains, "Yes. I promised to give him the Cube, if he wins." which shocks Champa who explains, "What!? The Cube!? That is a vehicle of the Gods! With the Cube, people can go to any place they want, including other universes!"
In response, Vados calmly argues back, "Didn't Champa-sama tell me to say whatever was necessary to get Hit on the team?" which makes Champa sigh and admit, "I did say that... But still, having an uncatchable assassin on the team is no laughing matter."
At this point, Vados asks, "Would you let me cancel the agreement?" to which Champa casually replies, "No need. It's too late for that." before he smirks and adds, "Oh well. With this, our victory is as good as decided!"
At the same time, I hear Beerus as he says, "Hmm. His name is Hit, right? I think I've heard about him, but, I can't remember clearly."
Whis does not waste any time and quickly reveals, "Apparently, he's the best assassin of Universe 6. He's never failed at taking out his targets, so, he's famously known as 'Never-Miss Hit.'"
Hearing that, Goku can't help but exclaim and ask, "Ehhh! That guy is really that amazin'?" followed by an impressed Beerus who comments, "Vegeta might run into some trouble this time. But, at last, it seems like this will be a battle that I'll be satisfied with."
After saying that, a clearly satisfied Beerus about the upcoming match launches a weak Ki beam and rings the bell that signals the start of the match followed by the referee who yells, "Start!"
Vegeta doesn't waste any time and immediately lets out a roar transforming into Super Saiyan Blue, at the same time, Hit takes his fighting stance which is very similar to a Wing Chun one, the only small difference is that his fists are closed instead of being open and that both arms are much closer to the torso, more like a Orthodox Boxing Stance.
This is an apparently basic stance but one refined through years of battle and as such one with little to no opening.
Vegeta takes a look at Hit's stance and comments in an arrogant tone, "That's a very basic fighting stance." but after saying that, he stands still, unable to make a move, as he continues to glare at his opponent.
At the same time, I hear Piccolo exclaim, "Hey!" followed by an impressed Goku who comments, "Yeah, he has no openings. That sure is an amazin' guy."
This situation continues for a few more seconds, then just as Vegeta decides to make a move, Hit moves before him and quickly charges toward Vegeta with a reaction speed that is fast enough to take even the Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta by surprise for a moment, but then he quickly regains his bearing noticing that he is moving at a much lower speed than he is used to and decides to counterattack.
However, Hit uses his signature technique Time Skip, and "suddenly" lands a hard blow on Vegeta, knocking him back and making him fall on the floor surprising almost everyone present, Vegeta included who exclaim, "What the-!?" followed by the people on the Universe 7 Team's platform who comment.
"What happened?"
"Unbelievable."
"Oh!"
"That was incredible."
At the same time, Champa chuckles and says, "Hehe. That was good!" followed by his attendant Angel, Vados who agrees, "It was, indeed."
Vegeta gets up and glares at Hit who is calmly looking back at him while holding his fighting stance before he says in an even tone, "You should surrender."
That immediately pisses off Vegeta who exclaims, "What did you just say? Don't get so full of yourself just because of one lucky shot. From here on out, I'll be the one who'll attack!"
After yelling that, Vegeta charges behind Hit and attacks, but Hit again uses Time Skip to quickly dodge the attack and move beside Vegeta before using it again to punch him in the neck and knock him away from his side.
At this point, Vegeta is clearly confused as he isn't able to see Hit moves when he uses Time Skip, and he isn't the only one because Goku asks Piccolo, "Did you see his attack?" to which he replies, "No, I couldn't."
Then Vegeta assumes a defensive stance, preparing to counter Hit's attacks, but Hit charges towards him and successfully lands blow after blow with Vegeta unable to defend, wondering how he is attacking him.
Seeing this, Patamon sighs and comments, "Oh my. He is getting beaten up." then he asks, "Hey, Jayr. Didn't you say that Vegeta would be immune to Hit's Time Skip if he used Super Saiyan Blue?"
Hearing his question, I continue to watch Vegeta getting pummeled by Hit and explain, "I said that he would be immune if he used Super Saiyan Blue Full Power which means a similar state to the Super Saiyan Full Power, the mastered state of the Super Saiyan transformation that makes it similar to a natural state. But that is a state that neither Vegeta nor Goku have attained yet as Super Saiyan Blue is still a new development for them. At their current level, both Goku and Vegeta are only able to shorten the duration of the Time Skip... Unfortunately for them, even a brief moment of distraction can be fatal in such high-level battles, especially against a deadly foe like Hit. On top of that, their Super Saiyan Blue form is very draining making them tire much faster than Hit with his sparse use of Time Skip. Add the fact that Vegeta wasted the initial burst of power of the not-mastered Super Saiyan Blue transformation to show off to Cabba, and his situation is very dire."
While I'm explaining that, Vegeta falls back, powers up, and prepares to fire a blast, but is surprised to see Hit put his hands in his pocket, and in an enraged tone he yells, "Don't look down on me!"
However, before he can fire the Ki Blast, Hit uses Time Skip once again and then lands a blow on Vegeta's side making Vegeta wonder how he could attack that fast, even from such a distance as he crashes and rolls on the floor.
As Vegeta slowly tries to get up, Hit calmly says, "Do you understand the situation you're in, now? Surrender." making Vegeta look at him and ask in an enraged but painful tone, "W-What did you just say?"
At the same time, Goku teleports to Jaco and asks, "Jaco, were you able to see his attacks?" to which he replies, "I couldn't see." surprising Goku as Jaco's eyesight is so exceptional that he is able to even follow Beerus' movements with to the point that Goku exclaims, "Even you couldn't see it!?" making Jaco sternly confirm once more, "Yes."
I also hear Beerus comment in an even tone, "That guy is aiming his attacks accurately at all the vital points." followed by Whis who adds, "As expected of the man feared as the strongest assassin."
Then Beerus looks at his brother and fellow God of Destruction and says, "I had no idea that he was hiding such a trump card. It's a shame that Goza disappeared out of nowhere. That guy would have given them all such a huge scare with that new transformation he came up with."
Hearing that, makes Whis chuckle as he comments, "Hohoho. Indeed, Goza's new form is truly astonishing. It broke my comprehension of the level of power that mortals can attain. It is the complete opposite of Goku's and Vegeta's Super Saiyan God transformation, but it is able to make a mortal fight on par with a god and even win."
Meanwhile, Vegeta slowly stands up while breathing and sweating heavily as the continuous blows and the constant drain and strain of the Super Saiyan Blue form are taking their toll.
At the same time, the confident Hit calmly waits for him to regain his bearings without making any other move and after a few more seconds, he asks, "Did you finish thinking of a strategy?"
In response, Vegeta smirks and then he flares up his aura once again and yells, "I just have to punch you hard in a head-on fight!" before he charges toward Hit ready to punch him, but Hit stops him in his tracks with an attack to the gut.
However, Vegeta endures the blow and grabs Hit's arm, and then he says, "This way, you aren't going anywhere."
Vegeta moves to punch Hit hard in the face, but just as his fist is about to hit him, Hit uses his Time Skip again and lands another hard blow on Vegeta's gut surprising him as he mutters, "A heavy... attack."
However, Vegeta holds on out of sheer and surprises Hit by yelling, "You bastard!" landing and heavy blow to his face making Hit spit some purple blood pushing him back by quite a few meters as he slides on the floor before Vegeta kneels over holding his stomach, powers down to his base form, and falls over, defeated shocking everyone.
Hit looks at Vegeta's fallen figure, cleans the blood on his mouth using his fist, and mutters, "Despite taking one of my full-powered punches he still endured and held on only to retaliate against me. He is truly a proud warrior."
Then he walks up to Vegeta, staring at his figure for a few moments before he looks at the referee and asks, "Killing is against the rules, right?" to which the referee nods and replies, "Y-Yes." making Hit further asks, "So, what should I do now? In his condition, he can't even surrender anymore. Not that I think he would if he was conscious, he isn't that kind of warrior."
In response, the referee moves his gaze from Hit to the fallen Vegeta a few times before he declares, "Win-Winner... contestant Hit!"
Then Hit looks at Vegeta's unconscious figure and states, "You're the first one who is still alive after taking so many attacks of mine and even retaliate after taking a full-powered one." before he turns his back and walks away.
Seeing this scene Champa laughs while Beerus is annoyed, at the same time, Trunks and Goten rush over to Vegeta with a towel and water, and Goku says to Krillin, "Krillin, give Vegeta a Senzu Bean." making him rush over to Vegeta's side.
At the same time, I hear Son Goza sigh and comment, "In the end, Vegeta wasn't able to defeat Hit. He truly wasted too much energy in showing off to Cabba. After all, Super Saiyan Blue is truly much more powerful during the initial burst, but after that, it gets very draining to maintain and grows much weaker the more time passes. In a certain sense, the simple Super Saiyan God transformation is much better as the power is constant and the strain is much better." followed by Patamon who adds, "Oh well, he is at least a winner in life as he married a hot, rich woman who allows him to do whatever he wants."
Shortly after that, I hear Jaco comment, "That man is extraordinarily fast, no doubt about it." to which Goku replies, "Even I know that much."
Then Jaco crosses his arms and adds, "But, when he attacks, there's much more going on than just that." which makes a curious Goku ask, "He? What do you mean by that?"
Jaco focuses on Hit's figure and says, "Right when he attacks, he disappears completely." making Goku guess, "Like an invisible man?" but Jaco shakes his head and says, "If that was son, I'd still see his clothes."
Hearing that, Goku mutters, "I see." before he tries to guess once more, "Maybe it's Instant Transmission? Though I can't teleport so freely without concentrating."
But then they get distracted by a frustrated Vegeta who slams his fist into the floor creating a small fist-sized crater before the Galatic King, a light-green octopus-like alien with a large head and numerous tentacles who wears a golden crown with the Galactic Patrol insignia on its front wonders out loud, "He might be using Time Skip."
Curious, Bulma repeats, "Time Skip?" while Jaco exclaims, "That makes sense!" which makes Goku asks, "Whaa...? What's Time Skip?"
In response, the Galatic King explains, "I only heard rumors, but apparently there are people who can skip through a little amount of time. If I'm not mistaken, they can skip for 0.1 seconds."
Clearly confused Goku states, "I don't get what you're sayin' at all." which makes Jaco explain, "I'll make it easy for you. They can freeze time for 0.1 seconds for everyone, but during that time they can still move."
Shocked by that information, Goku asks, "They can stop time for 0.1 seconds?"
In response, Jaco continues, "Even though it's only 0.1 seconds, for people with extraordinary speed, it's still a big advantage." but then Bulma suddenly asks, "Jaco, didn't you say that manipulating time was a big crime according to the galactic laws?" which makes a surprised Goku ask, "Is that true?"
Jaco quickly replies, "Yes, I certainly said that." which makes an upset Bulma demand, "Then go and arrest him."
In response, the cowardly nature of Jaco once again makes its appearance as he looks away and says, "No. Because I don't want to die."
Annoyed by his attitude, Bulma yells, "And you still call yourself an elite!?" but Jaco shamelessly states, "Precisely it's because the life of a super elite is important."
Shortly after he says that the Galatic King adds, "More importantly, while techniques like Time Skip allow one to manipulate time, they are not considered a violation of Galactic laws regarding time travel and manipulation just like the ability to freeze time. The reason for that is that a Time Skip user cannot use the technique to travel into the past which can lead to the creation of Alternate Timelines which is the main reason why time manipulation is something forbidden. On top of that, if Hit actually broke the rule against time manipulation in front of supreme beings like the Kais and the Gods of Destruction, Beerus-sama, and Champa-sama, then he would have been executed on the spot without any hesitation, no matter the occasion."
Hearing that explanation seems to deflate Bulma who sighs before Goku adds, "Even if that wasn't the case, you can't get him arrested. Otherwise, I will no longer be able to fight with him."
At the same time, I hear Whis comment, "That was surprising. To think that there was someone other than me, who could manipulate time." followed by Beerus who says, "This could turn bad for us." before he looks at Goku and mutters, "I wonder what he'll do?"
Sometime later, the referee announces, "Contestant Hit, who won, will now face his next opponent, the member of the 7th Universe team, contestant Son Goku!"
Hearing that, Goku looks in the direction of Jaco and the Galatic King, and asks, "Hey, what can I do against him?" but Jaco simply replies, "No idea." followed by the Galatic King who says, "I have no clue, either."
Hearing that, Goku scratches the back of his head and mutters, "I might be in trouble." before he jumps down from the floating platform saying, "Alright."
Goku lands on the ring and starts to walk up toward the center crossing paths with Vegeta, Goten, Trunks, and Krillin, then, after they pass each other, Goku calls out, "Hey." making Vegeta stop before he asks, "Got any sorta of advice for me?"
After a short silence, Vegeta simply replies, "No. Just do your best." which makes Goku turn around and exclaim, "Eh!? That's all you have to say?"
In response, Vegeta says, "Yeah, that's right." which makes Goku say, "Don't be so cold, we're on the same team."
Vegeta says, "I know that already." before he walks away while Goku sighs and comments, "I really might be in some serious trouble."
At the same time, seeing this scene makes Beerus order his attendant, "Hey Whis, you surely know how to counter that technique. Hurry and tell him."
However, Whis refutes by saying, "It will be good training for him to find the solution by himself." which makes Beerus exclaim, "This isn't the best time to train him!"
Whis doesn't change his mind and says, "We should let Goku-san handle this on his own." which makes Beerus narrow his eyes and comment, "You're so easygoing even in this situation. If that guy loses then..."
But before he can continue, Whis interrupts him and says with a mocking smile, "We still have the strongest fighter of the 7th Universe, Monaka-san." which makes Beerus lower his ears and say, "Even though you know the truth..."
Whis then sarcastically reveals, "Oh! I wonder about that... Could it be that in order to motivate Goku-san and Vegeta-san, Beerus-sama lied and brought a total amateur? Hohoho!"
At this point, Champa rings the bell by firing a weak Ki beam, and the match starts with the referee who yells, "Start!"
Goku takes his fighting stance and excitedly says, "Finally after 3 opponents, it's my turn to fight. Nice to meet ya!"
In response, Hit looks at Goku who is still in his base form, and asks, "Did you forget to transform?"
Hearing his opponent's question, Goku is confused for a moment, "What? Oh..." but then he realizes what he means and explains, "It uses a lot of stamina to do that transformation so I'm saving it for later. I want to buy as much time as possible, till I've figured out a way to beat you."
Hit takes a close look at Goku for a few moments before he says, "You must be pretty young and naive, to reveal your strategy so easily." which makes Goku chuckle and say, "Hehe. I'm much older than I look."
In response, Hit plainly states, "I'm more than one thousand years old." shocking Goku who takes a step back and exclaims, "One thousand years old!? Really!? You're much older than me."
Then he stands upright and in a much more polite and respectful manner he says, "Let me rephrase it." before he gives a 90° bow and says, "Nice to meet you, mister."
After the respectful salute, Goku once again takes his iconic fighting stance and states, "Well then, let's start!"
