Baby Princess’ Survival Diary

Chapter 56

[If it’s Eloane… I’m not sure. Wouldn’t it be in the temple?]

“If Eloane in the temple, I can’t approach it carelessly.”

 [I don’t think so.]

 “Ung?”

[To elves, temples do not mean much. Sometimes they’ll clean it, but other than that, they don’t care.]

 “Why?”

[Because divine power is only given to humans.]

 “Ah…”

Signing a contract with a divine beast required a certain amount of divine power.

In other words, it meant that anyone with divine power could sign a contract with a divine beast.

Still, the fact that humans are the only ones who can sign a contract with a divine beast shows that they are the only ones who have been given divine power.

[The elves believe in and praise God, but they can’t communicate with it. The temple is a place to communicate with the Gods, so it is a place that is useless for elves who can’t communicate.]

“Then why did they make it?”

[In the past, elves and humans traded often, and many humans lived in the land of elves for years or longer. It was built by a man who lived there for so long. Even if their relationship with humans had gotten worse, they wouldn’t have wanted to get rid of the place that symbolized God.]

“Ah… Then no one is going to look for it?”

[It’s been about 100 years since the elven forest began to become more and more distant from humans and closed, so no one has ever been looking for it.]

“Then Eloane must have been lonely.”

[Hmm… I think Eloane would like it more.]

Driane, who was talking to me while looking at my hand, snuck away from me as I was looking at her and flew over my head.

“Does Eloane like to be lonely?”

 [Rather than that…]

 “Young Lady!”

Driane was about to say something, but I heard Viscount Janen calling me.

When I looked back, I could see Viscount Janen coming toward me.

 “Tell me later.”

 […All right]

I whispered to Driane, and Viscount Janen came over to me right away.

“You are not sick anywhere, right?”

 “Yes?”

When she suddenly looked at my body and spoke, I turned to the Viscount and asked her what she was talking about.

 “I apologize. I’m in a hurry earlier… didn’t something happen a while ago?”

 “Ah…”

Come to think of it, thanks to the prince, no one knew the situation when Serina bounced off earlier.

Viscount Janen was right to worry because I suddenly stopped a carriage and ran out of it.

 “I’m sorry I didn’t explain properly. It wasn’t because I was sick. A little… because there is a problem with my companion…”

I couldn’t say Serina, so I turned to make Viscount Janen think it was the divine beast.

I was a little sorry, but I couldn’t help it because I couldn’t tell the truth.

 “Ah… are you okay now?”

 “Yes! I’m okay.”

“That’s a relief. I was worried that something was wrong.”

 “I’m really fine.”

Viscount Janen sighed relief after I told her repeatedly that I was okay.

Everyone turned to look at me as the others began to gather, and the Viscount Janen reassured them that it was nothing to worry about.

“I was worried that you might be sick from using too much divine power.”

Count Gade laughed, saying it was a relief.

I was a little embarrassed because everyone looked relieved when they found out that I was safe.

 “I am late.”

I, Viscount Janen, and Count Gade all shook our heads when the Prince said that.

As the other party gathered, Minera-nim approached.

 “You can come this way.”

Following Minera’s guidance, I slowly entered the elf village.

Others also looked around slightly curious, as it was their first time in the elf village.

I, too, began to look and moved forward.

“Here we are. There are the elders and the village elders inside.”

I adjusted my outfits once more in response to Minera’s words.

 Knock, knock—.

“It’s Minera. I came with people from the Empire.”

There was a noise inside, but I couldn’t hear it.

However, Minera must have heard it clearly, so he opened the door and beckoned us.

 “You can go in.”

 “Yes, thank you.”

 “You’re welcome.”

Minera turned around and bent his eyes beautifully at me.

 “Young Lady, let’s come in.”

At the words of the Prince, I quickly bowed my head and entered the house.

 “Wow…”

The inside of the house was also very beautiful. Without realizing it, I burst out a small exclamation and hurriedly covered my mouth with my hand.

Fortunately, no one seemed to notice. I decided to appreciate the house later, but first, I made sure I had the right posture.

“My name is Noel Inoten, the 2nd Prince of the Inoten Empire.”

The introduction went on with the Prince leading. Now it’s finally my turn.

 “My name is Lione Biherville.”

As others have said before, I simply said my name.

 “I’m Roya, the elder.”

After our introduction, the elves continued.

It said that it was always this way to greet an elf for the first time.

When a stranger kept revealing their name, the elf side revealed their name in that order.

When the conversation was over, Roya, the elder, started speaking first.

“We have read through the peace agreements that the Empire has sent us. We don’t want to go to war with those who are particularly encouraging us to stay in peace.”

 “I’m glad you said so.”

Count Gade and Viscount Janen sat down at the regular table for negotiations.

“Come to think of it, the person who signed a contract with divine beast also goes on this journey.”

Everyone’s eyes turned to me. I took a step forward and said.

 “That’s me.”

The eyes of the elves fell on me in an instant.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen a human, so I can’t tell how old the girl is— but you seems to be the youngest among humans, right?”

“That’s right. I’m 15 years old this year.”

“You’re too young to sign a contract with divine beast. I don’t know if you can handle it properly.”

The elf with brown hair who stood behind Roya said this. It was an elf who came in late without introducing his name.

The Prince’s expression hardened in a rather sharp tone.

 [That child is arrogant.]

“It’s not about dealing with divine beasts.”

Other than that, the part that bothered me was this.

It felt like I was treating the divine beast as a tool.

“I’m together with the divine beast. It’s not about dealing with the divine beast.”

I spoke firmly, but the brown-haired elf’s expression didn’t change.

I didn’t want to convince someone like that, but I was going to listen to the correction for Driane, who was treated as a tool.

 “I hope you correct it.”

 “….”

The brown-haired Elf turned down my offer by turn away his head.

 My expression hardened.

 “Drion.”

 “…Yes, elder.”

“I teach you to talk nicely.”

 “…I apologize.”

“You should apologize to the Lady, not to me.”

 “…I apologize.”

I received an apology, but I didn’t feel too good.

Roya, fully aware that an apology would be worthless, sent out the elf with brown hair.

The brown-haired elf’s eyes lit up as if being sent out from this position was incredibly humiliating.

But he didn’t think he could stand up to the elder, so he clicked his tongue and left.

“Before we continue, why don’t the others go out and explore the town?”

 Roya said, brightening the atmosphere.

“We would be grateful if you would.”

 “Minera will be waiting outside.”

 Roya said with a smile.

“I hope to have a chance to talk to the girl next time. Let’s not talk about such heavy and complicated stories.”

I nodded in response to Roya’s words.

“Yes. I look forward to it.”

After a brief conversation, I went outside, except for a few minutes to actually sit at the negotiating table.

 “I feel bad…”

[Just ignore it. He will have a terrible experience later]

Maybe this is the first time I’ve ever been this angry, but Driane didn’t seem very angry.

 “What happened inside?”

Minera, who was guiding the other party, asked if she had seen my expression.

 “…It’s nothing.”

But I couldn’t tell him straight away, so I shut my mouth.

“Did the brown-haired elf with blue eyes say something rude?”

I looked at him for a moment with a bit of surprise. He narrowed his brows as if he knew it would happen.

“That kid is— a little angular. It’s a child who dares to express it in angular words, so do not worry about the child’s words.”

 “…Thank you for your consolation.”

Minera’s words didn’t quickly make me feel better.

But since I thought it was originally an elf, I thought it was my fault for being offended.

 “The elf village is beautiful.”

When I changed the subject, Minera’s expression, which had a troubled look, brightened up.

“Back when there were a lot of people, there were a lot of family guests. People who have been here before always come back with their families.”

Minera’s words gave me a small feeling of pride, so I smiled and followed his movement by looking around.

 It really deserved it.

I thought that the atmosphere of the mysterious village was modest, but also glamorous.

It was a place with many different kinds of atmosphere.

“I want to come with my family too.”

“Come and see me later. You are always welcome here.”

I smiled and nodded to Minera, who smiled warmly.

I thought that once I got rid of the demon, I should go with Jerion and Oraboni.

When he uses Jerion’s real power and only reads documents in a few years, my father will join me on my journey.

[I can feel the energy of Eloane]

“Is there any temple around here?”

When Driane spoke, I stopped thinking and asked Minera.

“As expected, it’s different because you’re the person who signed a contract with the divine beast. It’s the building in front of you.”

Unlike the other houses, which seemed to be born from trees, there was only one building.

“The lodgings for outsiders are outside, but the temple is inside?”

“Originally, humans also stayed in the village. It became difficult to accommodate them due to the large number of them, so they built a separate lodging outside—”

“Ah. Then… can I go to the temple?”

“Yes, as much as you want.”

 “Thank you!”

I asked for my party’s understanding.

“Young Lady, if you’re going to stay long, I’ll pick you up in the evening.”

I nodded without rejecting Sir Adhan’s favor.

 “Yes, please.”

I separated from the party and entered the temple. Even though it was a temple that was only managed, the fullness of divine power made me feel at ease.

 Then someone blocked my way.

 “Why are you here?”

 It was a brown-haired elf.

I ignored it and walked forward. I could find out where Eloane was without Driane’s guidance.

It was a necklace hanging from a statue of God.

 “Ack!”

As I was about to say hello, the brown-haired elf grabbed my arm.
