Chapter 10: The Games of Gods
The celestial hall buzzed with divine energy as Zar took in the spectacle before him.
Golden banners embroidered with celestial runes lined the towering pillars. Choirs of ethereal beings harmonized in perfect unison, their voices weaving an otherworldly hymn. Majestic tables were filled with divine ambrosia and nectar, offerings fit only for the highest of beings.
It was a festival.
A grand celebration in his honor.
Zar raised an eyebrow, slightly amused.
("This is my first time stepping into their world, yet they prepared all this?")
But just as he was about to let his curiosity wander further, a sudden notification rudely interrupted his thoughts.
—
[System Notification]
[Oi, there's a new mission for you.]
—
Zar sighed.
"And here I was, enjoying the moment."
Ignoring the system's unusually casual tone, he directly accessed his interface. The translucent screen appeared before him, filled with status information that shouldn't even exist.
—
[Status Interface]

—
Zar's gaze lingered on the reward for a moment before he muttered to himself.
"System, I'm thinking… just how much of my Authority do I need to unlock before I can personally beat the shit out of you?"
His voice carried an edge of irritation.
But instead of a proper answer, the system responded in the same mocking tone.
—
[Not saying~]
—
Zar exhaled sharply. "This damn system…"
He took a moment to cool down before casually replying,
"You know, System, sometimes I wonder if you exist purely to piss me off."
The system remained silent, but Zar swore he could feel its smugness radiating through the interface.
Shaking his head, he shifted his attention back to the matters at hand.
"System, does Nexus Academy allow its students to bring their subordinates?"
The response came instantly.
—
[ Obviously, but not many.]
—
Zar nodded. That was good to know.
But now, it was time to address the real reason he had called the gods together.
He straightened his posture, his voice shifting into an undeniable tone of authority.
"Let the feast be delayed. There is something I wish to announce."
The celestial murmurs immediately ceased.
All eyes turned toward him.
The divine beings who had gathered to celebrate his arrival now stood in silent anticipation. Even the six ruling gods—Aetherion, Ignis, Eterna, Noctis, Zephiron, and Vaelora—straightened their forms, awaiting his decree.
Zar took a step forward, his presence alone commanding the space.
"I am initiating a competition."
Aetherion's eyes flickered with intrigue. "A competition?"
Zar nodded. "A trial where only the strongest may rise. A test not just of strength, but of dominion, strategy, and the will to rule."
Zephiron, the God of Storms, let out a low chuckle. "Hah, now that is something I can get behind."
Ignis crossed his arms, his golden flames pulsing in excitement. "Interesting. What are the rules?"
Zar's lips curled into a smirk. "The rules will be revealed… during the event itself."
This earned a few surprised glances. Even Vaelora, the Goddess of Faith and Fate, narrowed her eyes. "You would withhold such information even from us?"
Zar's expression remained unreadable. "There is a reason for that. The nature of this competition requires absolute neutrality. Any knowledge beforehand could disrupt its balance."
The gods exchanged glances, their divine minds processing his words.
Eterna's voice carried a note of caution. "And what of the rewards?"
Zar's gaze met hers. "The rewards will be… revealed in the midst of battle."
Aetherion exhaled. "You truly wish to keep us guessing until the very end."
Zar simply smirked.
But then, Vaelora suddenly spoke again—this time, her voice tinged with doubt.
"Supreme One… are you certain of this?"
He raised an eyebrow. "Explain."
Vaelora glanced at the gathered deities before speaking. "Our power is vast. If we were to battle without restraint, we could destroy the very foundation of this multiverse. No plane of existence can withstand the true force of divine combat."
She was right.
Even among the gods, their sheer strength was a force that had to be restrained. Aetherion's manipulation of time and space, Ignis's primordial flames, Eterna's absolute control over life and death—if they were to truly fight at full power, the devastation would be catastrophic.
But Zar?
He merely smirked.
Without looking at anyone, he addressed his system.
"Now then… System, can you fix this problem?"
—
[System: Why don't you give me some ideas?]
—
Zar sighed. ("This damn system…")
Fine. If it wanted him to come up with a solution, he would.
His gaze swept across the divine assembly before he finally spoke.
And when he did, his voice carried a mystical, majestic weight that sent shivers through even the most powerful of deities.
"Then I shall create a realm."
Silence.
"A domain that exists beyond the limitations of this multiverse. A plane of existence built solely for this competition."
For the first time in eons, the gods felt something that had long been absent from their existence.
Shock.
Aetherion's expression was unreadable. "A realm… solely created for battle?"
Ignis clenched his fist, his golden flames flickering wildly. "Impossible. Even if one were to construct such a place, it would need to exist outside all known laws. Even within pocket dimensions, the echoes of our power would affect the multiverse."
Eterna narrowed her eyes. "Unless… you intend to construct something beyond even our comprehension?"
Zar's smirk deepened.
"Exactly."
He lifted his hand.
The divine hall trembled as an absolute force rippled through the air.
A reality beyond the grasp of the known multiverse.
A domain where unrestricted power could be unleashed without consequence.
A plane untouched by the flow of time, beyond the weight of creation itself.
And most importantly—
A realm that only he could control.
The gods stood frozen, unable to comprehend the magnitude of what they were witnessing.
Even for beings who ruled over existence itself, the idea of such a creation was beyond reason.
For a single moment, no one spoke.
Then—
Aetherion exhaled. "You… truly intend to do this?"
Zar's eyes gleamed with certainty.
"Of course. After all—"
His voice echoed through the divine hall, carrying a promise of absolute dominion.
"—I am not bound by this multiverse's limits."
