Awakening:The Infinite Evolution of My Talent as a Low-Level Awakener

Chapter 649: Complete Exposure! Pitch-Black Prison!

"With my current strength, if I were to return directly to Alpha 8, both the Kingdom of Orichalcum and the Ashen Temple would bow to my power!"

Sterl said confidently.

His strength had reached a point where most mid-tier gods could no longer compare to him. Even if the Silver Moon Wolf God were resurrected, Sterl was certain he could defeat it without using the Soul Prison's Eerie Eyes.

Furthermore, the barrier to the lower realms still stood, meaning that the higher realms' upper-tier divine authorities wouldn't be able to descend completely just yet.

Without any formidable opponents to stop him, he was effectively invincible. The so-called legions and gods, in his current state, were nothing more than a joke!

They would only serve as fuel to further increase his power!

"Unfortunately, Hell is completely sealed off now. Until I resolve the current situation there, escaping is impossible."

Sterl muttered to himself. To ordinary gods, his legendary figure was a myth, and although he now saw his own legend as little more than trash, he still had a feeling that once he stepped into legend, the abilities he would gain would bring him a huge surprise.

He then turned his attention to the black tendrils around him, which were being slowly destroyed by the Celestial Stars meteorites, a look of disdain forming on his face.

While this ambush had indeed been dangerous, even a high-tier divine authority would have been severely wounded or even killed if they didn't have an absolute defense barrier like his.

However, for someone like Sterl, who treated danger like a meal, it still didn't quite measure up. As long as he had even a small window to breathe, he would always have the chance to turn the tables.

Moreover, while the monster was strong, it hadn't pushed him into a truly desperate situation, so there was no real need for a comeback. From beginning to end, he had been dominating the fight.

But the transmission of information from the progenitor was only just a few minutes ago. To make decisions and set up an ambush in such a short time was already terrifying.

"The victor is still me, and it can only be me," Sterl muttered to himself. As he watched the remaining tendrils being obliterated one by one by the incoming Celestial Stars, the tension in his heart eased considerably.

After all, the strength of these bizarre invaders was undeniable. It would be impossible for Sterl not to feel some tension when he learned of the attack. But now, everything would come to an end. Even a surprise attack couldn't kill him.

Just as Sterl was about to activate his teleportation ability and escape the area, he suddenly felt a sensation of weightlessness.

"This is bad!"

He reacted instantly and immediately activated the Temporal-Spatial Law, moving quickly toward the distance.

However, at that moment, a powerful force of attraction came from below. To his shock, the ground within a thousand miles rapidly collapsed, revealing a vast chasm that extended tens of thousands of meters deep.

At the bottom of the chasm, there was a mass of silvery-white liquid. Sterl immediately recognized it—this liquid was the secretion of the progenitor!

"Another progenitor?"

The thought flashed through his mind.

Below, within the chasm, the silvery-white secretion began to spin rapidly, forming a massive whirlpool that emitted an overwhelming gravitational pull, attempting to drag Sterl into it.

However, Sterl was very aware that while this secretion might seem harmless, it contained a great deal of that strange gray energy. If he were to be sucked into it, the outcome would likely be the same as when he dragged the soul into the Purgatory Space—completely uncontrollable.

So, he immediately activated all of his strength to resist the pull, slowly flying upward.

Without external interference, Sterl would eventually be able to break free from the whirlpool's control.

But, of course, misfortune never comes alone. The black tendrils, which had been transformed from the previous monster, fell down, submerging into the secretion.

As if stimulated by something, the tendrils began to swell uncontrollably. Just when it seemed like these tendrils were about to be destroyed by the Celestial Stars meteors, they quickly shot up from the tens of thousands of meters deep chasm.

However, instead of attacking Sterl, the tendrils, like before, spread to cover an area of tens of thousands of meters. They then began to retract and weave together, attempting to form a prison to trap him inside.

"Trying to trap me? Not possible!"

Sterl growled, and with a thought, the Infernal Portal of Space slowly opened. Countless soul puppets howled and screamed within, releasing eerie and horrifying noises.

"Go! Destroy them! Destroy everything!"

Sterl, enduring the pull of the whirlpool, gritted his teeth and issued the command with fierce determination.

With his command, the thirty million low-tier soul puppets immediately emerged from the Purgatory Space. They roared silently, their claws slashing through the air.

However, what Sterl hadn't anticipated was that the whirlpool formed by the secretion not only could absorb and pull physical matter, but it also had an effect on souls. In that brief moment, at least several hundred thousand soul puppets had been sucked into the vortex, shredded to dust.

Fortunately, as long as the true soul was intact, the soul puppets could never truly die. The damage done was effectively zero.

Seeing this, Sterl directly commanded the soul puppets to follow the force of the pull from the whirlpool and launch suicidal attacks. Explore more stories at empire

Immediately, millions of soul puppets, as though driven mad, charged toward the whirlpool below. Just as they were about to make contact with the swirling mass, they self-destructed.

Although each of these soul puppets was only a fraction of the size of a normal living soul, their self-explosions caused negligible damage and impact. However, with the sheer number of millions, the whirlpool shook violently, and its original structure began to collapse.

Before long, the pull of the vortex had weakened significantly, and Sterl no longer had to struggle to maintain his position.

But just then, the sky above darkened abruptly, and the area around him became pitch black, as though all the light had been swallowed up.

"So, they want to trap me here," Sterl mused quietly.

With a snap of his fingers, several clusters of crimson flame illuminated the area once again.

To his surprise, above him, the black tendrils had gathered and blocked off the sky. These tendrils wove together into an impenetrable net, continuing to absorb nourishment, growing thicker and deeper.

Looking down, he saw the vast expanse of the silvery-white secretion was drying up at a visible rate. While some of the soul puppets continued their assault, most of them were being absorbed by the tendrils as nourishment, making them more resilient and reinforcing the prison around him.

Sterl's thoughts shifted as he called upon The Authority of Hell, summoning the Will of Hell. However, despite the overwhelming force he commanded, the black tendrils not only blocked the space but also severed his connection with the Will of Hell.

His expression grew grim as he recalled the gray barrier that had surrounded the monster's soul earlier. It now became clear: this was a trap set specifically for him.

"It seems my suspicions were correct. The Will of Hell was only meant to stabilize me. In truth, all of my information has most likely been exposed."

"And this is a trap specifically set for me."

Sterl immediately analyzed the situation. If it wasn't for this trap, how could it be so precisely tailored to counter him?

But now wasn't the time to complain about Will of Hell. In some sense, he and Will of Hell were already on the same side. If Will of Hell were completely eradicated and Hell invaded, these monsters would undoubtedly turn their focus on him immediately. On the other hand, if he were truly trapped here, Will of Hell would be left isolated and defenseless, likely to be ground to dust under the invaders' monstrous strength.

To break free from this situation, Sterl had two options: either forcibly break out, or wait for Will of Hell to rescue him. However, it was clear that Sterl had no choice but to go with the former. If Will of Hell had any strength left, this situation wouldn't have occurred. They certainly wouldn't have set this trap for him under Will of Hell's very nose.

Taking a deep breath, a cold glint flickered in his eyes.

"Do you think this thing can stop me?"

The silvery-white secretion below was rapidly thinning. By the time the last bit of liquid disappeared, the black tendrils had completely enveloped him, from top to bottom.

Even his senses couldn't penetrate this layer of prison, unable to gauge its thickness.

But Sterl remained calm. With a thought, he gathered a Destructive Light in his hand. The power of ten Laws merged, and he clenched it tightly, then hurled it upward with a punch.

Boom!

In an instant, a terrifying shockwave reverberated through the pitch-black space. The black tendrils blocking Sterl shattered instantly, as if they were made of metal. Countless cracks spread in all directions, and the terrifying force continued to break through, tearing apart the defenses of this prison.

However, after drilling a hundred meters deep, the power from the Destructive Light and the ten Laws was completely expended. The gap left by the punch quickly sealed itself, showing no signs of being damaged at all.

"It seems this is going to be a battle of attrition," Sterl muttered.

He exhaled deeply, feeling a tinge of frustration. He realized that once these black tendrils trapped him, even time itself was distorted and impossible to sense properly. His emotions were subtly affected as well.

Focusing his soul power, he gently vibrated it, isolating the external influence, keeping himself in his peak state.

Compared to this, he'd rather be battling the Mother Body itself. At least that would be direct combat. This was just boring and a waste of time.
