Awakening Of The New Emperor

Hello everyone reading this!

Before I dive into a bit more of the nitty-gritty details of the world, I'd just like to say; please do give the novel a try! I promise you would not regret it. :)

I take pride in even the smallest details of this medieval world and it's development, and I hope you enjoy it. If this all meets your fancy, I suggest reading the first 20ish chapters, and I promise you won't be able to stop reading! ( Chapters are about 1,000 words each )

Anywho—I'll try to keep this spoiler free, as to preserve the actual story.

I definitely recommend reading this or at least skimming through some of it just so you have a bit of an introduction to the story and the world around it, that way you may not be as confused during certain moments, especially early on.

The Fall

Over a century ago, the world experienced a supernatural event nicknamed The Fall, the day the Great Emperor's reign collapsed. His power scattered across the world, spreading misfortune to all of the population. Upon that night of the fall, the moon rose, this time tainted in blood. However, the moon had never set, casting this world upon an infinite darkness of blood.

Legend says that whoever reclaims the throne and restores order to the lands, will also restore sunlight to everyone.

Following this, all the active population cursed with misfortune was doomed with a short lifespan. Those who were already near the end of their life died within days, while those still teenagers died not even a decade later.

The World, 100 years after

This story takes place 100 years, or a century, after the fall. Many militias such as The New Order, The Hidden Lotus, and more of which I won't mention here for spoilers, have risen in hopes to take control of all the lands and become the new Emperor.

Each militia has their leader, also known as their Emperor candidate, such as Zhang for The New Order, and more.

Each one of these militias control and run different regions of the lands, some being a bit more harsh, powerful, with more rule, while others not standing well in numbers but rather in sheer power with the few troops they do have.

I'll go over just a few of the more common lands, but I'll leave some of the more 'adventurous' ones to reader discovery.

Vareth—controlled by The New Order, under candidate Zhang.

Blackreach—controlled by The Hidden Lotus, under candidate Kaelith.

Neutral Lands—Unclaimed regions by any future 'Emperor', least population out of any region and pretty sparse, however the most dangerous. If you can learn to handle yourself, the safety is unmatched, as there isn't much of a law in this region.

Power System

The world uses a distinct form of energy called Nexus Energy. Anybody can learn how to use Nexus Energy, however some people, regardless of how much knowledge they consume, could never grasp even a basic spell, while others are blessed with an immense natural understanding and usage of the energy.

Nexus Energy is the lifeline of the modern, horrific world. Without sunlight, food became scarce. Thanks to artificial nexus fields, people have been able to steadily maintain farms.

I'll cut the details short here, as I'll leave more discoveries open for surprise. :)
