Avatar, the spirit of knowledge

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Awakening & water

[Third POV]

"The concept I represent is knowledge, isn't it?"

the moment these words left Solon's mouth, the darkness around him began to fade rapidly, allowing him to see a huge, mostly empty library that used the universe as a roof.

After looking around for a while Solon walked to the book closest to him and opened it.

Once he read through it's first pages, he realised that the book had to do with the information he had obtained due to his experiments and the library.

"Does this place hold the comprehensive knowledge I have? That's going to be useful." he muttered to himself.

'How do I leave this place?'

The moment this question appeared in his mind he felt himself fade from the library as the book he was holding levitated back to it's place.

[Solon POV]

I opened my eyes and immediately looked around to find out where I am, seeing sand everywhere and no danger around I got up and used my powers to dust my clothes.

It takes way less energy to control the sand and my mind can easily handle the information I obtain. I guess this awakening had it's positives.

Chronos told me that when I understood my concept there would be huge changes to the way I use my power but I didn't expect such a difference. I waste almost no energy when I use it.

After thinking for a while and trying to recall everything that happened during my fight I realised that there where information I shouldn't possess inside my mind. Think like the amount of sand grains that exist in a circle with diameter of 200 meters around me.

Wow, with this power my seismic sense is now useless. However, I have to learn how to filter the amount of information I actually want from what need to be stored in my mind. Since my concept is knowledge I will assume that my mind has no limit to the amount of information it can hold, but that doesn't mean I can oveload it with useless things.

"Filter information" I said aloud and a large amount of energy got sucked out of me as my mind got a little lighter.

I suppose that is good enough for now. I should keep moving.

After picking up the Jackalope that was sleeping near me and placing it on my shoulder, I started walking towards the water lion-turtle.

[Third POV]

[A week later]

"This trip was exhausting. Don't you agree Uxie?" asked Solon, the Jackalope on his shoulder while looking at a giant lake extending to the ocean surrounded by small islands and mountains.

What stood out however was a human setlement filled with blue buildings floating on the center of it.

After exiting the forest and climbing down the cliff he found in front of him, Solon was standing at the edge of the lake.

'How can I make the lion-turtle aware of my presence?' he thought aware that lion turtles are unable to sense him when they are sleeping.

"Idea" he said aloud as a part of his energy got consumed.

In it's place an idea appeared in his mind.

'I really didn't expect this to work.' unaware that the energy he just consumed was enough to kill a high-level spirit several times over.

Immediately after he understood what he should do he got to work. Cutting a tree with his hands and starting to shaping it in like cone. He clearled the middle of the wood and created a small hole on the other end.

After he created what his powers called a horn he put it in his mouth and blew into it.

*TOOT*

A heavy lound sound left the horn reaching the people on the lion-turtle and waking the creature.

As the turtle got up a huge amount of water started to move together with it.

"Why are you here spirit?" it asked calmly as it observed Solon trying, and failing to see through him.

"I am here to meet with the humans. I wish to learn about water from them."

"Why are you seeking that knowledge spirit, are your powers not enough?"

'I just tell him that I like to learn, no need to say the truth to him.'

The moment Solon tried to lie about his reasons something unexpected happened

"My powers depend on the amount of knowledge I possess and although I don't need the humans to teach me, it would be more efficient to learn from them."

After comprehending what he just said Solon kept his calm image but started panicking inside.

'Why am I saying the truth? I am sure I wanted to lie.' he though making a note to himself to investigate this event.

"Once you inform the humans and give them the power of water, have them blow in this. It will make a loud voice and notify me to come here." Solon said as he left the horn on a rock and started walking towards a mountain close by.

[The next day]

[Solon POV]

*TOOT*

The sound of my horn awakened me from my sleep. I finally undestand why the lion-turtle looked so annoyed, the sound that thing makes is torture.

"Wake up Uxie it's time to learn." I said to my sleeping friend as I balanced him on my shoulder.

After leaving my cave, I headed directly towards the human settlement.

"Halt, are you the one that asked to meet us?" asked a young man with a square face, long hair and blue eyes matching his attire.

He was acompanied by 2 older men that looked at me with caution, ready to use the power of water to defend themselves.

"Yes I was the one to call you here. My name is Solon, may I know who you are?" I asked politely.

"My name is Hahn the next chief of the tribe. So why are you here Solon?"

"I wish to learn about water from your hunters."

"You wish to learn how to use the power of water?" asked Hahn confused.

"No, I wish to learn about water itself. I like to obtain knowledge in every possible way, so I am traveling around the world visiting places to collect information about everything I can. I don't need to visit the settlement, I just want for someone to come here and teach me about the way you live."

"I will need some time to think about this offer." said Hahn with a thoughtful expresion.
