Chapter 1130: Plan
Ae'zard expression darkened, then went cold as his gaze settled on the mass of humans and paragons gathered outside the Aeonian domain.
'No.'
He instantly understood what was happening here but his answer was a firm no. There was just no way he was going to risk his domain for them.
With the sheer scale of the battle ensuing between whisker and the gardener outside, even a single nano second without the shield could prove fatal for their race. He wasn't going to drop the shield.
But right then, slicing through the sky like ice, Atticus' voice rang out.
"Ae'zard."
He addressed the leader of the Aeonians by name.
"I don't need to introduce myself. You already know me, which means you know what I am and what I can do," atticus said.
"Allow them in, and I'll see the Aeonians as allies when this is over. Don't, and I'll take you all as enemies. This is a threat. And I will follow through."
The expressions of Ae'zard and the rest of the paragons darkened.
This… was insane.
Atticus was using his power, his potential, to threaten them outright.
Even worse, he wasn't even trying to hide it.
"Wha—" Ae'zard began, but Atticus' voice cut through once more.
"You have two seconds before we leave."
Ae'zard's gaze shot toward Atticus, only to freeze.
'His eyes… they aren't joking.'
He had seen what Atticus could do. He had witnessed it firsthand.
It was absurd, the boy was far too young for such strength. Even worse, his potential… it was immeasurable.
Ae'zard had tried to gauge it and he failed.
Which meant, if Atticus survived this crisis, it would be catastrophic for their race to stand against him.
There was always the chance he wouldn't survive, but Ae'zard wasn't willing to gamble the survival of their race on possibilities.
He clenched his fists tightly, gritting his teeth.
"You better be true to your words," he said.
Atticus nodded, his expression unchanged.
Ae'zard sighed heavily, his shoulders sagging under the weight of the decision.
"Allow them in," he commanded.
The gazes of the other Aeonian paragons shot up in shock. None of them had expected Ae'zard to actually submit.
But Ae'zard threw them a cold look, and instantly, they bowed their heads, turning into streaks of light as they shot back toward their cities.
Relief washed over the humans, Evolari, and Nullite paragons. None of them had truly believed Atticus would be able to sway the Aeonians.
They had heard every word he spoke. But none of them expressed any discomfort at the threat he posed.
It was for survival.
At this point, none of them could afford to be naive.
Seconds later, a large hole, just wide enough to fit the people gathered outside, opened up before them.
Atticus didn't waste any time.
He shielded the hole with his aura, preventing any impact from the ongoing battle from leaking inside.
Then, without hesitation, he sent the others through.
Before the entrance could close, Oberon threw several activated runes outside the Aegis Shield. They burrowed themselves deep into the ground in an instant.
Feeling Atticus' eyes on him, Oberon said, "So we're not blind. We'll know what's going on."
Atticus nodded, understanding him.
Once inside the Aegis Shield, their perception wouldn't be able to pierce through, they would be completely cut off.
Which meant that they wouldn't even know if they were winning or losing.
As the shield sealed itself, Atticus' aura retracted back into him.
His gaze shifted, landing on his family, still staring at him with worried eyes.
Anastasia, Avalon, Magnus, Aurora, Ember, Caldor, Zoey, Kael…
Each of them looked at him as though he was heading into his final battle.
Atticus smiled at them, giving a firm, reassuring nod.
"I'll be back. Don't worry," he said.
He also gave nods toward Jenera, Zenon, Ae'zard, and the other paragons before turning sharply, moving away from the shield, Ozeroth grinning as he followed beside him.
Once they had put enough distance between themselves and the shield, Ozeroth clapped his hands eagerly.
"Alright, Bond! What's the plan? What greatness are we displaying next?"
"Ozzy!"
Ozeroth froze at the sound of the nickname coming from the soulkin.
He dreaded that name.
Just as he was about to explode, Atticus cut in.
"Relax. He's just happy to hear your voice."
Ozeroth huffed dramatically.
"The Great Ozeroth's voice is charming, I'm well aware, but he needs to learn who's in charge here! My name is Ozeroth. OZEROTH."
"Kuu… Ozzy!"
Ozeroth stiffened again, trembling slightly.
"Give me one minute. Just one second. Let me whack some sense into him!"
"Kuu?" the soulkin chirped in confusion, as if wondering what he meant.
Atticus only shook his head and turned back toward the horizon, where blue and green energy clashed violently in the distance.
He had already thought through the current situation carefully, mapping out their next course of action.
"We still can't face the Gardener head-on," Atticus said.
With the Gardener's mastery over Will, Atticus would be forced to focus too much on guarding his mind, leaving him unable to fight effectively.
Ozeroth frowned. He didn't like the sound of that.
"Then what do you plan on doing?" Ozeroth asked. "You said you needed all hands on deck."
He didn't wait for a response.
Instead, he reached out and instantly read Atticus' thoughts.
His eyes narrowed sharply a second later.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
Atticus nodded firmly.
"It's the only way."
Ozeroth's frown deepened.
The plan Atticus had formed was nothing if not dangerous. They had done it before, minutes ago, in fact, but that had only been for a moment.
This time, he would need to hold it for much longer.
Ozeroth's expression hardened.
"Alright then. I'm with you."
Atticus nodded again. But this time, there was no smile on his face, only pure seriousness.
There was no room for playing around now. Any mistake could lead to death.
"Kuu?"
The soulkin instantly felt the shift in mood and a wave of uncertainty flooded from it, reaching Atticus.
Atticus smiled slightly, lowering his voice.
"It's going to be alright. I'm not going anywhere without you."
The soulkin beamed brightly a second later, its emotions stabilizing.
Satisfied, Atticus continued.
"Alright. It's time to focus."
The soulkin went silent immediately, its mind snapping into focus.
Then, the descended.
The entire area fell into utter silence as Atticus and Ozeroth landed gently on the ground.
"Are you ready?" Atticus asked.
Ozeroth nodded without hesitation.
"Of course."
"And you?"
"Kuu!"
The soulkin responded, its voice filled with a seriousness that, if anything, sounded almost cute.
Atticus turned back toward the horizon, where Whisker and the Gardener clashed, his thoughts churning.
Since he couldn't join the battle head-on due to their superior Will, Atticus had resolved to use another approach.
He had to catch the Gardener off guard.
And there was only one way to do that.
Become a singularity.
