ATG: Multiversal Transmigration System

Chapter 4: Inferno Delivery: Toji's Playground

Amongst the wreckage, Jogo stood alone, embers flickering from his body as he scanned the ruins.

"Pathetic," Jogo muttered, stepping over a half-melted corpse. "These humans crumble too easily."

The heat radiating from him warped the air, causing streetlights to droop and asphalt to crack. He was hunting, searching for any remaining pests who opposed his kind.

Then—

Whoosh!

Something fast. Something unnatural.

Before Jogo could react, a blur shot toward him from the rooftops. A sudden force smashed into his side like a wrecking ball, sending him skidding across the pavement and slamming into a crushed car. Smoke and dust billowed in the aftermath.

A lone figure landed lightly where Jogo had once stood, rolling his shoulders.

"Man," Toji Fushiguro muttered, Playful Cloud resting lazily on his shoulder. "I was hoping for a challenge."

Jogo groaned, shoving debris off his back as he stumbled to his feet, rage bubbling in his molten veins. His single eye locked onto Toji, confusion flashing across his face.

"...You're no sorcerer," Jogo spat. "I couldn't sense you at all... you don't have cursed energy. And yet—"

Toji smirked, tapping the side of his head. "Figured that out already, huh? Guess you're not just a walking bonfire after all."

Jogo's fury erupted, flames bursting from his shoulders as the ground beneath him melted. "Human filth! I'll reduce you to ash!"

He thrust a hand forward—a wave of flame bullets was launched at Toji.

Toji moved before the fireballs even left Jogo's fingertips. His body blurred, dashing across the ruined street with inhuman speed, weaving between the molten projectiles. Each explosion behind him sent out shockwaves, but he never faltered, closing the distance with a manic grin.

Jogo barely had time to react before Toji swung Playful Cloud, the weapon stretching mid-air and slamming into Jogo's side. The impact cracked the charred pavement beneath them, sending the fire curse tumbling through a collapsed storefront.

Jogo snarled, bursting from the rubble, his molten rage reaching its peak. "Enough of this!"

He raised both hands, the air around him igniting as ember-like creatures formed—dozens of flaming insects buzzing into existence. Their fiery bodies pulsed with explosive energy, and their wings emitted a high-pitched hum.

Toji clicked his tongue. "Tch. More bugs? Thought I was done with those after Dagon."

The Ember Insects swarmed forward, leaving streaks of fire in their wake. Toji didn't hesitate. He kicked off the ground, leaping over the swarm, twisting mid-air to land on a collapsing light post. The insects exploded in a fiery detonation beneath him, heat licking at his heels.

Jogo took advantage of Toji's airborne state, spewing a massive torrent of flames directly at him. Toji reacted instantly, using Playful Cloud like a pole vault, launching himself sideways just before the inferno engulfed the lamppost. He landed smoothly, smirking.

"Gotta try harder than that, fireball."

Jogo's eye twitched. This human was infuriating. He thrust his hand forward, summoning a massive volcanic fissure beneath Toji's feet. Molten rock burst forth, threatening to consume him.

Toji, unfazed, flipped backward just in time, landing gracefully on an overturned truck. Before Jogo could react, he was already mid-swing. Playful Cloud extended again, striking Jogo across the face with enough force to send him crashing through a building.

Jogo groaned, staggering out of the rubble. His patience had run out.

"Maximum: Meteor!"

Above them, the sky darkened as a massive burning meteor materialized, descending rapidly toward the city.

Toji whistled, Playful Cloud shrinking back to its normal size as he cracked his neck. "Now that's more like it."

As the meteor plummeted, the entire battlefield was consumed in a blazing inferno. But amidst the destruction, a single figure remained standing, unscathed, a manic grin splitting his face.

Toji Fushiguro was far from finished.

Jogo barely had time to process what had happened before Toji lunged forward again, moving through the scorched air like a phantom. The fire curse's instincts screamed danger, but before he could react, Playful Cloud slammed into his gut.

"Guh!" Jogo wheezed as he was lifted off the ground, his molten body bending unnaturally from the sheer force. The impact sent shockwaves rippling through the ruined battlefield, dust and embers spiraling outward.

Toji wasn't done.

He twisted mid-swing, bringing Playful Cloud down like a hammer, smashing Jogo into the cracked asphalt. The ground gave way beneath the curse, creating a crater as lava spewed from his battered form.

"Damn… you…" Jogo coughed, struggling to rise. His flames flickered weakly, his energy drained from both the meteor and Toji's relentless assault.

Toji, standing over him, spun Playful Cloud between his fingers. "Tch. You're way weaker than that water freak," he muttered, recalling his battle with Dagon.

Jogo's eye twitched. Weak? Him? A disaster curse?

With a furious roar, flames erupted from his core, flames began to compress in his hands

Toji didn't move. He simply watched, waiting.

Then—

"TOJIIII- SAAANN!!!!!!!!!!!! Parcel behind!!"

With impossible speed, he disappeared from his place as a pillar of flames that was far stronger than the Maximum: Meteor came in a straight line.

'It seems like a Kamehameha.'

The one who shouted was none other than Yuji. Toji appeared beside Yuji as he saw the pillar of flames hit the parcel—or, more accurately, our patch face Mahito.

Toji grinned while looking at the delivery "Now that's what we call a nice delivery."

Yuji blinked, still catching his breath as he processed what had just happened. He slowly turned to Toji, pointing at the burning wreckage where Mahito had just been obliterated.

"Uh… yeah, sure… totally meant to do that," Yuji muttered, wiping a bead of sweat from his forehead. Then, after a beat, he threw his hands up. "I was just trying to warn you! I didn't think it'd actually hit him!"

Toji let out a short chuckle, slapping Yuji's back hard enough to nearly knock him over. "See? That's called natural talent, brat. You should embrace it."

Yuji groaned, rubbing his shoulder. "Man, at this rate, I should just change my technique to Dumb Luck Fist. Maybe then Gojo-sensei would stop calling me a lost cause."

He glanced back at the still-burning Mahito pile and winced. "Yikes… you think he's dead?"

Toji shrugged, "Eh, if not, I'm sure you'll accidentally kill him again."

Yuji threw his hands up. "I SAID IT WASN'T ON PURPOSE!"

Ignoring him, Toji was thinking something else,

'I don't know the upper limit of heat my body can handle. While the Heavenly Restriction might be strong, it doesn't exactly make me heatproof.'

"Is everyone evacuated from this part of Shibuya?"

Yuji affirmed, "Yes. Now, it's just us five here."

Toji grinned, "Great. Let's have some fun then!"
