After Asta finished his morning marathon around the demon's skull, he stood there, breathing heavily and drenched in sweat. But despite all the perspiration, the tension, and the feeling that he had become more resilient, one thing troubled him: his muscles seemed to refuse to grow. No matter how much he trained, there were no more changes in his body! "What the hell?" he thought, staring at his hands as if hoping that muscles would magically appear.
Lost in these thoughts, Asta didn't notice something strange approaching from the sky. Before he could blink, this "something" suddenly landed on his head! He jumped in surprise and yelled:
"Ahhhh! What the hell?!" Asta shouted, flailing his arms in panic. The creature, as if knowing it wasn't welcomed, immediately took off and hovered nearby, squinting its tiny eyes.
Asta sighed in relief, realizing it was just a small, but audacious bird.
"Phew... It's just a bird," he muttered, closing his eyes for just a second. But barely had he blinked when that little rascal settled back on his head! Asta opened his eyes and couldn't help but smirk:
"Wow, you're quite fast!"
With these words, he cautiously extended his hand to pet the bird, but it clearly didn't appreciate such a friendly gesture and suddenly pecked his finger.
"Ow! That hurts!" Asta yelped, quickly pulling back his hand.
But that was just the beginning. The bird, seemingly thinking that wasn't enough, began to peck him on the head as if it were in a competition for the most annoying bird of the year.
What caused this behavior? Well, it seemed Asta had been too loud, and that irritated the little feathered tyrant. Finding it amusing to continue the "attack," it also started flapping its wings at him, as if wanting to completely knock the last bits of calmness out of him.
Unable to take it anymore, Asta, with the determination of a hero, began swatting at it and shouted:
"Ah, you little beast! I'm going to roast you!"
He chased after it through the forest, hoping he could catch it at some point. But the bird was incredibly fast and cunning! It deftly dodged his hands, all the while managing to peck him every time he missed.
"Ow! Ow! Owie!" his cries echoed through the forest, filled with pain and pure despair. After ten minutes of desperate struggle for his dignity, he finally gave up, panting heavily as he collapsed onto the ground.
The bird landed back on his head, now with a sense of complete superiority. Despite the lack of emotions on its little face, it was clear that it was more than pleased with itself.
"Can you believe it... I lost to a bird..." Asta groaned, looking at it in complete shock.
