Asta's Adventure

Chapter 30: Magic knights Colosseum(4)

One by one, the captains of the Magic Knight squads observed the fight between Asta and Luck, while simultaneously questioning the gathered onlookers about what had happened.

"Hey, Magna, why are they fighting?" asked Yami, the captain of the Black Bulls, glancing at him while taking a drag from his cigarette.

"What's this commotion, you weird glasses guy?" muttered Jack, the captain of the Green Mantis squad.

The other captains also began showing interest in the spectacle.

Meanwhile, William Vangeance, captain of the Golden Dawn, noticed a sword with a ruby lying next to an unusual shield. Additionally, a rusty throwing knife lay on the floor. All these items looked ancient, but he could feel a familiar aura emanating from them, almost as if they belonged to Licht. Yet, he was certain Licht had never wielded such weapons. Intrigued, William began observing Asta with heightened focus.

"Well…" Magna began to explain what had transpired.

"Ha! Men are so dumb, Sister," scoffed Sol, standing next to Charlotte, the captain of the Blue Rose squad.

"Manners, Sol! And call me Captain," Charlotte snapped sharply.

"Sorry, Sister—I mean Captain!" Sol corrected herself quickly.

At the same time, Nozel, captain of the Silver Eagles, glared disapprovingly at Solid. Feeling his brother's stare, Solid grimaced, swallowing his annoyance before muttering, "I apologize, brother. I acted impulsively when I saw a commoner enter."

However, his words drew outright disdain from both Yami and Jack, who shot him bloodthirsty looks that made Solid step back nervously.

Rill Boismortier, captain of the Aqua Deer, watched Asta with amusement, finding the whole scenario entertaining.

Geldor Poizot, captain of the Purple Orca, appeared lost in thought, showing no interest in the ongoing events.

Dorothy Unsworth, captain of the Coral Peacock squad, was simply dozing off.

"Say something, at least!" Yami yelled at her, only to be met with silence.

Finally, Fuegoleon Vermillion, captain of the Crimson Lion Kings, watched Asta with respect. Despite lacking magic, Asta had the courage to face a Magic Knight and was even holding his ground. Fuegoleon knew Luck to be one of the strongest fighters in the Black Bulls, a mage who never showed mercy to his opponents.

Yami and Jack continued to watch the battle unfold.

"I'm betting that your blond guy is gonna lose," Jack suddenly said.

Yami squinted. "Not so fast. I'm putting my money on the ash-haired one. You back my guy!"

"But he's your squad member. Why aren't you betting on him?"

"Because he'll lose."

"Fair enough. Now hand over the cash."

"Not a chance! I never agreed to this!"

At that moment, a loud sound came from the arena. They turned to see Luck regaining his magic and summoning lightning to overwhelm Asta.

"Well, you're right, I guess it's best to bet on your own squad. Let's go for 100 gold pieces," Yami muttered.

"Look at that! You're switching sides just because your guy is winning," Jack sneered. "Don't think I'll let you off the hook if you refuse to pay up when you lose, like you always do."

"What'd you just say?" growled Yami.

"Am I wrong?" Jack replied, their foreheads colliding as their argument escalated.

Their quarrel, however, was cut short by another loud noise from the arena. Turning back, they saw Asta miss a punch at Luck but slam his fist into the ground instead. The impact was so powerful that half the arena was destroyed.

Everyone froze in shock. Jack was the first to recover, extending his hand to Yami with a smirk.

"Pay up. You've already lost."
